It's been 15 long years, but we finally have the first teaser trailer for Broken Lizard's Super Troopers 2 and it's amazing. It was recently announced that the movie will come out on April 20th, 2018 and ever since then, fans have been clamoring for some footage of the sequel and though it's short, the clip does not disappoint. There's some nods to familiar gags, but they don't seem like a rehash at all, which is smart and a good sign for the rest of the movie.
The R-rated red-band trailer comes to us courtesy of the official Broken Lizard YouTube channel and features the whole gang. "Thorny" Ramathorn (Jay Chandrasekhar), "Rabbit" Roto (Erik Stolhanske) "Rod" Farva (Kevin Heffernan) and Mac (Steve Lemme) are all here, starting with a rookie shave sequence for Rabbit, who apparently is still the rookie after all these years. While the teaser doesn't reveal any of the...

It has now been officially announced. Super Troopers 2 has a release date of April 20th, 2018, and we have a sneak peek into what the highly anticipated sequel is going to be about. Rumblings of the release date appeared earlier this week when actor and Broken Lizard founding member Steve Lemme (Mac) revealed that Super Troopers 2 had an obvious release date on a Friday in the spring. That coy comment instantly gave away the 4/20 release date, but now Fox Searchlight has confirmed the news.
Super Troopers 2 will take place on the Border between the United States and Canada and will pit the boys up against a border dispute this time around. The official synopsis reads.
"Everyone's favorite law enforcement team is back by popular demand with the long anticipated follow up to the cult comedy classic Super Troopers. When an international border dispute arises between the U.

Everyone has the power to create their own stories, but what if those stories were actually “real”? And what if the people in those stories are writing stories about you? It’s a heady idea, but one that the new metafictional film “Zoom” adopts head on to examine sex, drugs, and body-image insecurity.

While discussing the show at Sdcc 2016, some of the cast from Freeform’s Dead of Summer revealed that things are about to get pretty crazy and horrifying for the characters and the fans from here on out. After the shift in tone and the shocking death in last week’s episode, the cast might be telling the truth. Three preview videos and 13 photos were released for tonight’s sixth episode, titled, “The Dharma Bums,” and it looks like the group has decided to consult a Ouija board for help. Let the bloody games begin!

American comedy Reaper was the slacker Supernatural. With great writing, great jokes and Ray Wise, what more could you want?
At the time of writing, the American television networks’ ‘fall’ season of 2015 is a month or so around the corner. It’s still a month until Doctor Who comes back, and worryingly close to that time of the year when The X-Factor is gobbling up Saturday nights around the UK. Essentially, we reckon you could be looking for a new show to binge-watch right about now.
To help you out, the Article Ideas Team here at Geek Towers fired up their Underappreciated TV Shows That Need More Love Machine (patent pending) and cooked you up a recommendation - Reaper.

How did a low budget horror movie about a diminutive Irish monster spawn five sequels, a new reboot, and the career of Jennifer Aniston? EW tracks the deranged history of the Leprechaun franchise.
British actor Warwick Davis says he has “specific” fans—well-wishers who want to discuss just one of the several fantasy franchises in which he has appeared. “People talk about Star Wars, people talk about Harry Potter,” he explains, “and people talk about Leprechaun.”

Time seems to stand still only during those last minutes of the last day of school or waiting to go through airport security.
With the exception of some actors, we all age - unless, of course, something else (besides skilled plastic surgeons) is at work. ABC's "Resurrection," premiering Sunday, March 9, considers what happens when time stands still for some, and the dead return.
This is not a zombie gore fest. Rather, it's a quiet drama in a small town. Parents endure the never-ending grief of having to bury their only child. They go on with their lives, because what else can they do?
Then, 32 years later, Jacob returns, still 8.
His parents, Lucille and Henry Langston (Frances Fisher, Kurtwood Smith), are understandably shocked. Lucille immediately accepts the return of her son - no questions asked of this miracle.
"A mother knows his touch, his smell," Fisher tells Zap2it. "DNA doesn't lie.

Everyone loves a wedding, right? Love is in the air and everyone gets to have a fun time, right? In Best Man Down, Lumpy (Tyler Labine) has a bit too much fun at the wedding of his best friend Scott (Justin Long) to Kristin (Jess Weixler). So much fun it literally kills him. That may sound like a heavy premise for a comedy, but it sets up the heart of Best Man Down. Following his unexpected death, Scott and Kristin have to fly back to the Midwest to make his funeral arrangements, and that's where they make the surprise discovery that Lumpy had been keeping a lot of secrets from them. One of them was his relationship with a quirky, says-what's-on-her-mind gal named Ramsey (Addison Timlin). We've got an exclusive clip from Best Man Down, available now on iTunes and other...

A young Colorado native had her first screenplay made into a full-length feature film released last week, and she did it with a crew full of women and before she had even graduated from college.
Tara Stone, 27, grew up in Monument, Colo. and was attending the University of Denver for a music performance degree when she decided it was time to start over, move to San Diego and pursue screenwriting.
"Everyone says San Diego is paradise. It's not true," said Stone, adding that she's glad to be spending some vacation time at home. "Colorado is paradise."
Her screenplay, "Red Line," recently screened at the San Diego Film Festival and won the U-t Award. It's also been selected for international distribution and is currently available to buy stateside on iTunes and Amazon.com, and will be available this fall at Walmart, Target and Netflix.

It happens all the time. We get attached to a show and for some reason, be it low ratings, high expense, departing actors, it gets cancelled. We’re left with a handful or episodes, or maybe a season or two if we’re lucky, and that’s it. Plot lines are unresolved, questions left unanswered, potential unreached.
But look at all the shows that were cancelled and then brought back, Futurama, Arrested Development, and Family Guy to name a few. Not to mention that a Veronica Mars movie was recently funded through Kickstarter solely by fans. The possibilities are growing as we have more methods to display our love for these shows in the hopes that someone will listen. So here’s to the cancelled shows of yesteryear. You may be incomplete but we still love you.
So click onward to check out my top ten favourite TV shows…that were cancelled too soon.

A Good Old Fashioned Orgy
Directed by: Alex Gregory, Peter Huyck
Cast: Jason Sudeikis, Tyler Labine, Leslie Bibb, Nick Kroll, Lake Bell
Running Time: 1 hr 35 mins
Rating: R
Release Date: September 2, 2011
Plot: A group of friends who have known each other for years, decide to have one last bash. The theme they settle on … orgy.
Who’S It For? Yes, it pushes the boundaries with the orgy theme, but beyond that it’s reminiscent of Indian Summer or Wet Hot American Summer.
Expectations: Sudeikis can be charming enough, but I had a bad feeling this would be one of those indie films about an “orgy” without an orgy.
Scorecard (0-10)
Actors:
Jason Sudeikis as Eric: He’s the lead wolf. It helps that Eric’s dad (played by Don Johnson in a bit part) owns the perfect summer home. You know what? Sudeikis does feel like a leader here. It works.

Monthly Movie Preview – September 2011
Summer is over. Superheroes tried to crush our spirits with their stupid movies and refusal to die. A whole bunch of crazy stuff happened, actually, but we made it out. And what’s that I smell? Award season? Too early to think about it … or is it?
Aside from letting folk like Malick do his “thang” in May, September marks when movies on whole put their game faces back on. Not only is it the month in which important festivals like Toronto and Venice go down, but it’s also the time to get serious, in whatever way possible. Aside from Shark Night 3D and Abduction, but you get the hint.
September’s going to give us inspiring movies about fighters, someone’s going to get cancer, and there might even be an “incredible true story” about baseball waiting for us with Moneyball. Hold on now,...

We have six months to go and a lot of movies left to watch, and as was evidenced by the six films I included in my "Top Ten of the Year Contenders" on yesterday's The Best and Worst Movies of 2011... So Far post, there haven't been a ton of excellent films in theaters just yet. Three of those six films I saw at the Cannes Film Festival and only one of them has hit theaters so far (Midnight in Paris). This means we have to wash away the taste of the last six months. Sure, there were some good films and films we will all likely revisit over the years, but I think we can all generally agree 2011 hasn't exactly been a stellar year for movies.
So what's coming up? Well, I was able to compile a list of the top 21 (plus three) films I'm personally looking forward to seeing.

[Editor's note: If anyone says 2010 was a sh!% year for movies, please refer them to this post.]
Instead of the usual "best" or "worst" films of the year lists, I thought a good way to take a look at the highs and lows of the 2010 film year would be to compile almost every single review we published in 2010 and let readers meander through the wasteland as it were.
I'm really amazed at the range of films we managed to cover from around the globe this year. Quiet Earth has certainly come a long way over the years and it's really due to the talents and passion of our team of writers who literally travel a world of fests to bring news and reviews of new films.
I hope you're all taking notes. Many of these films were from fests and will probably be hitting VOD and Blu-ray sometime in the new year, so this is a good chance to get a start on your must-watch lists.

She plays the tough, unrefined, and independent private investigator in NBC's new fall show, "Outlaw."
While Jimmy Smits' character stepped down from his high-powered seat on the Supreme Court, Carly Pope's character, Lucinda Pearl, is a street-smart gal who doesn't have to play within the law.
Viewers will remember Pope from her stint on "Californication" and, one of our personal faves, The WB's "Popular."
While Pope's character doesn't like answering to anyone, the star submitted to Zap2it's celeb slam book.
From her double first kiss to her celebrity crush, check out what Pope fesses up to:
1.) If you could change one thing about your face what would it be and why?I'd wipe that cheeky grin right off of it... It's been getting me into trouble for a good long time. 2.) Who was the first boy/girl you kissed? Two neighbors -- a boy and a girl.

More things happened in the season finale of V than in every other episode of the first season combined. That’s a good thing. V definitely needs to inject some adrenaline into its reptile heart, now that it’s won the “hey, it’s more popular than FlashForward” sweepstakes and will be coming back for a second season. You could still argue that about half the characters in the main cast are extraneous, but you have to admit that the cliffhanger ending left you just a little bit interested in seeing where they take things in season 2.

I caught up with 'Sons of Tucson' the other day, and you know what? It's pretty funny! The ratings aren't that great though, which is probably one of the reasons Tyler Labine has joined the pilot of a new CBS sitcom (that's him on the right riding over to CBS to sign the contract).
Labine will stay on 'Sons of Tucson' if Fox renews it. The new show is called 'True Love' and it's about four friends who live in New York (God, that a really generic description but shows aren't about plots it's about the writing). Everyone must love Labine because he has been offered this role more than once (he turned it down because 'Sons of Tucson' hadn't premiered yet). 'True Love' will also star Jason Biggs and Minka Kelly.
In other casting news, former 'Jag' star David James Elliott has replaced Neal McDonough...

Analysis: While it didn't travel much beyond the UK, 2007's reboot of the "St Trinian's" franchise nearly doubled its £7 million production budget in sales in the UK alone - making it one of the top grossing independent British films of the past decade. Reviews were decidedly mixed but generally pretty weak at the time, so the greenlighting of a sequel surprised quite a few.

True cult status? Whoop-doo!
Both Internet pundits and blog critics alike are quick to bitch about the cliched nature of our current cinematic landscape. While they scream in bold words of disgust, they can't help but fall into a similar trap themselves. They're just as guilty of sipping from this dried well as the rest of our so-called "film community". How often do you read a review that screams, "Instant classic!" Or, "Modern day masterpiece!" How about, "A Triumph!" Then there's, "A true crowd pleaser!" "A thrill ride!" "The funniest comedy of the summer!" And, "Does for (insert blank) what Jaws did for swimming!" The list goes on and on. Uwe Boll is pissed. His new film Rampage, starring Brendan Fletcher as a joyfully disenfranchised 20something named Bill who goes on a citywide killing spree, didn’t win anything at Fantastic Fest this year. Everyone kept telling him how much they enjoyed the film, but it didn’t even crack the top five once the Audience Awards were in (the winner was Stephane Aubier and Vincent Patar A Town Called Panic).
A byproduct of the slacker generation, Fletcher’s Bill is 23 but still lives at home, to the disappointment of his mother and father (the latter played by Max Headroom himself, Matt Frewer), who just wish he’d show a little enthusiasm and maybe finally apply to community college. Bill has other plans, however, meeting up with friend Evan (who seems to be cut from the same lackadaisical cloth as our lead loser) to collect suspicious packages that he’s...
