You can own the famous mosquito in amber or John Hammond’s licence plate as a huge array of Jurassic Park memorabilia goes up for auction.
If you happen to have a couple thousand dollars lying around and you love dinosaurs, an auction in Los Angeles has just listed some excellent film memorabilia from Jurassic Park for bidding.
Among them are John Hammond’s Jeep licence plate, which is estimated to fetch somewhere between $6,000 and $12,000, and the famous mosquito in amber which will go for slightly less – its estimate is between $5,000 and $10,000.
Various items from the later films, such as Dr Alan Grant’s shirt from Jurassic Park III and a giant locust from Jurassic Park: Dominion are also up for auction. If you’re looking for something to decorate your home, you could get a T-Rex maquette, an Indominus Rex tooth or a Triceratops horn to put on your shelf.

Den of Thieves 2: Pantera debuted on Netflix with so much anticipation and excitement that it’s easy to forget that the film began its life as a theatrical release. Indeed, Den of Thieves 2: Pantera only had an 18-day theatrical release window before the sequel was released on VOD. Just as the theatrical and VOD releases of Pantera triggered a resurgence in popularity for the first Den of Thieves film, the sequel’s expected streaming popularity and strong VOD performance led to the announcement of Den of Thieves 3.
Such calculations have defined the recent career of Den of Thieves series star Gerard Butler, whose decidedly formulaic and uninspired starring action vehicles have been primarily geared toward streaming audiences. Accordingly, while the role of rule-breaking Los Angeles police detective Nick O’Brien in Den of Thieves 2: Pantera and its predecessor have provided Butler with arguably the most distinctive and...

Zack Snyder has had a fun run pushing the boundaries of CGI with most of his projects. His vision for films like The Watchmen, 300, Rebel Moon, and Batman v. Superman: Dawn of Justice, all relied on heavy CGI mixed with some brilliant acting and direction on the part of Snyder himself.

However, in an interview during the promotion of the Rebel Moon‘s Director’s Cut, Zack Snyder revealed that perhaps he would like to take a back seat from special effects and focus on a film that employs a few more organic shots. If the director’s history with the superhero genre is anything to look at, there is one character that Snyder needs to try his hands on.

Michael Fassbender has enjoyed an extraordinary career, bridging decades of storytelling. Unfortunately, his productivity generally declined in the 2020s. After the critically panned X-Men: Dark Phoenix(2019), the actor stepped away from Hollywood for several years. He instead took time to focus on his career as a professional racer. Consequently, he did not star in a single movie between 2020 and 2022. This was a natural decision during the pandemic, as Hollywood faced hardship during that period. Still, there was no evidence that Fassbender would have the chance to return due to insurance issues.
Fassbender did not stay away forever, thankfully. The actor returned to the screen in 2023 for The Killer and Next Goal Wins and also starred in Kneecap in 2024. These movies have been coming slowly compared to the rest of Fassbender's career. He was previously capable of starring in three films in one calendar year. Now, he appears in only one or two each year,...

Michael Fassbender relives his "excruciating" audition for Mad Max: Fury Road in which everything went wrong. Released in 2015 and hailing from franchise creator George Miller, the fourth installment in the Mad Maxsaga features Tom Hardy in the starring role as Max Rockatansky, a drifter in an apocalyptic wasteland who joins forces with Charlize Theron's Imperator Furiosa as she seeks out her homeland. Fury Road was critically acclaimed and a success at the box office, and there has been continued interest in seeing Hardy reprise his role in the reported follow-up, Mad Max: The Wasteland.
During a recent interview with Josh Horowitz on the Happy Sad Confused podcast, Fassbender reveals that he was up for the Mad Max: Fury Road role that eventually ended up going to Hardy. The audition, however, ended up being a fairly disastrous experience, as Fassbender reveals that, not only was he very late after getting lost,...

“Game of Thrones,” the groundbreaking HBO series that aired from 8 seasons, captivated audiences worldwide with its intricate storytelling, complex characters, and unexpected plot twists. Based on George R.R. Zack Snyder is one of the most impactful directors of recent times. With blockbuster movies like The Watchmen, 300 and more under his belt, he is no less than a pioneer in the world of action and superhero films. As such, getting to work with someone like him would excite anyone.

However, it could be equally nerve-wracking for some as well. That is exactly what happened with Oscar-winning musician Hans Zimmer when he got a chance to work with Snyder in Man of Steel.
What is surprising, though, is that Zimmer has previously worked in movies like Gladiator, and The Dark Knight with directors that are hailed as one of a kind as well. However, collaborating with Zack Snyder left him freaking out for months for a specific reason.

It would appear that Ubisoft is bringing back the iconic Spartan Kick from Assassin’s Creed Odyssey in Assassin’s Creed Shadows. Inspired by the movie 300, it was a fitting part of Odyssey since it was deeply rooted in Greek culture and mythology. But bringing it to feudal Japan kind of seems out of place.
A weird but not entirely unexpected move by the studio. | Image Credit: Ubisoft
With Japan’s rich martial arts history and unique combat techniques, it’s surprising to see that more priority is being put on a move popularized by movies and games that focus on Greek history and mythology. Ubisoft has a lot riding on 2025 and on AC Shadows and moves like this might not be the way to go about it. Even if it does invoke nostalgia.

Gerard Butler has had a varied career so far, with him playing everything from action leads to rom-com love interests to a singing Phantom of the Opera for Joel Schumacher. But, it has to be said that his most consistently entertaining output falls squarely into the action genre, and as far as Gerard Butler movies go, the action films will always be our favorites… so don’t expect to see The Ugly Truth on this list, but the Jennifer Aniston adventure The Bounty Hunter might scrape by. Or maybe not. Let’s see how it goes:

Perhaps The film that put Gerard Butler on the map for most people, particularly the action and comic book crowds. Although he was around for some time and had already achieved minor credits in film alongside the likes of Christian Bale and Angelina Jolie, it would take the world a while before we first began taking serious notice of Gerard Butler. That breakthrough wasn't until we saw him in Zack Snyder's 300, and it suddenly became clear just how much of an aura he had as a leading man. Now a veteran of the big screen, Butler has become renowned as one of the most exciting action stars around today.
His range has also seen him play other roles admirably, too. Among others, like romantic comedies and epic disaster flicks, he's proven to be a terrific all-round star.

Much in the veins of Zack Snyder’s 300 and Brad Pitt’s Troy, one fantasy action epic starring Henry Cavill gave the actor some serious credibility in the movie business. The 2011 film, Immortals remains one of Cavill’s most overlooked and underrated roles – which has, by now, become quite a cyclical trait of his Hollywood career.

Yet, Cavill shined in Immortals as the lead and gave his first starring role in the Greek fantasy epic – a performance that would hold the blueprint of most of his leading action hero roles since then. Despite the near-constant industry sabotage that Cavill has been suffering for the past decade, his reserve of potential makes the fans believe another fantasy epic may be better served with the Superman actor down the line.

Gabriel Mascaro’s “The Blue Trail,” playing in competition in Berlin, marks another great milestone for Brazilian cinema in a year where the country got its first best picture Oscar nomination with Walter Salles’ “I’m Still Here.” Mascaro follows in the footsteps of Salles playing in competition in Venice and Karim Aïnouz playing in competition at Cannes with “Motel Destino,” three consecutive Brazilian films playing in the most prestigious strands of the three most important European film festivals.

Between her prominent roles in projects like Game of Thrones, 300, and both The Purge and Terminator franchises, Lena Headeyis a certified badass when it comes to playing powerful leading characters. Headey's time as Cersei Lannister alone showcases her skill at developing a cruel, intimidating screen presence, which is why it's still surprising to learn the actor's legacy on film is as varied as it is compelling. In particular, those searching for Headey's softer side can do no better than Imagine Me & You, the 2005 rom-com that sees Headey trade her crown for a flower shop. Directed by Ol Parker, who later went on to direct Mamma Mia! Here We Go Again, Imagine Me & You offers the same blend of humor and heartwarming charm, delivering one of the most underrated rom-coms of the early 2000s in the process.

“How to Train Your Dragon” will be released in theaters on June 13, 2025. It is a remake of the animated film series that began with a 2010 animated film, produced by DreamWorks Animation. It is based on the book series by Cressida Cowell and, hopefully, it will continue the original movie’s legacy.
“How to Train Your Dragon“ Storyline:
Everyone knows that Vikings and dragons have been enemies ever since they realized they live on the same planet, on the same isle. This is why the story of Hiccup Horrendous Haddock III is so horrendous! He befriended a dragon. No Viking has even done that! It’s unheard of. It’s unacceptable. It’s impossible! Isn’t it?
Not impossible for Hiccup. Not only does he befriend the scary Night Fury dragon named Toothless, but he trains the creature! Who does that? Certainly not a Viking! It’s against all the rules of Viking society!

There have been very few certifiable comic book nerds with an established career as a box office giant as Zack Snyder and Henry Cavill. Both are among the most celebrated, if not incredibly controversial, names on the top 5 list. Even so, Snyder achieved something that has evaded directors for decades – a cult-like following as equally devoted to his work as trolls and dissenters are on tearing him down.

Despite the vitriolic mobs and “Snyder cultists” colonizing every corner of the comic book industry, the director has remained unapologetic about his love for heroes, villains, and the grimdark reality devoid of ethics and morality. It is this love of his that introduced him to the depraved world of Watchmen in his adolescence and that made him fit to adapt the comic as a Hollywood director.

Look, I get it – Christopher Nolan is basically Hollywood’s golden boy right now. An unpretentious B-movie made with A-grade effort, “Valiant One” packs decent action and mostly sturdy drama into the tale of U.S. soldiers whose mission near the Dmz goes haywire and leaves them stranded in North Korea. The first film directed by longtime producer and production executive Steve Barnett (“300”) doesn’t add anything to the “trapped behind enemy lines” playbook but does offer a pacy combination of well-executed combat scenes and reluctant-hero drama that should play especially well with military movie buffs. Boasting solid central performances by Chase Stokes (“Outer Banks” series) and Lana Condor (“To All the Boys” films), “Valiant One” opens in limited U.S. cinemas on Jan. 31.
“Valiant One” is the kind of mid-size action movie we’ve seen much less of in commercial theatrical release since these straight-to-streaming days began. Though lacking the scale of a big-budget spectacular — it’s no “Black Hawk Down” — the...

Den of Thieves 2: Pantera is headed home, less than a month from its theatrical debut. The action-packed sequel starring Gerard Butler and O'Shea Jackson Jr. as unlikely partners-in-crime managed to make a splash at the box office earlier this year. However, it seems the studio wants to put the acclaimed thriller in digital stores sooner rather than later, before it faces stiff competition in theaters next month with Captain America: Brave New World and Companion, among many other titles.
In a surprising announcement, Den of Thieves 2: Pantera confirmed on social media that the film will be available for purchase or rent on digital platforms starting Jan. 28. The sequel, which has a fresh 61% score on Rotten Tomatoes, impressed both critics and audiences alike, with many putting it above the original 2018 film. As of right now, it's unclear when or where Pantera will be made available on a streaming service.

The following contains minor spoilers for Den of Thieves 2: Pantera, now in theaters.
As fans are seeing the start of James Gunn's Dcu, it's a portrait of diversity. Superman will bring about cosmic wonder, aliens and metahumans fighting on Earth. While Creature Commandos Season 1 has already explored monsters fighting for Amanda Waller's Task Force M.
The latter also introduced the Dcu's Circe, confirming magic is in play. To that point, there is one actor who would be perfect for DC's most underrated supernatural hero: John Constantine. 300 is a 2007 fantasy war movie directed by Zack Snyder, which is based on a graphic novel of the same name by Frank Miller. The graphic novel and the movie tell the true story of King Leonidas I (Gerard Butler), the King of Sparta who fought in the Greco-Persian Wars in the Fifth Century Bce, roughly 2,500 years ago. When Persian invaders came to conquer Greece, King Leonidas personally led a small contingent of just 300 fighters to meet them at the mountain pass of Thermopylae.

Matt Damon has more than one exciting lead role in the pipeline. His casting in Christopher’s next movie follows hot on the heels of confirmation last year that he plans to be back as Jason Bourne for the sixth feature film of the Bourne franchise. But with Bourne 6 stalling following a 12-year streak of poor reviews and relatively middling box-office returns for the franchise, all eyes should be focused on the tantalizing prospect of Damon as the titular character in Nolan’s upcoming project.
Details released by Universal Pictures last month about the director’s next cinematic venture had us on the edge of our seats, not least because the likes of Damon, Spider-Man’s Tom Holland and Lupita Nyong'o were announced as part of the cast. Although Matt Damon has worked with Nolan twice before, on the blockbuster epics Interstellar and Oppenheimer, this third collaboration cements his place...

Although he has occasionally dabbled in the romantic comedy and family drama genres, Gerard Butler is most closely associated with the many action films that he has appeared in. Given Butler’s impressive physique, undeniable charisma, and ability to transform into morally ambiguous characters, it is no surprise that he has often been drawn to action cinema. While there are some action stars like Dwayne Johnson or Vin Diesel who refuse to take chances, Butler has ensured that there is a diversity to the action films that he appears in; between a gritty heist thriller like Den of Thieves, a comic book epic like 300, and a thrilling disaster film like Greenland, he has managed to make each of his performances unique. Butler gave one of his most underrated performances as a real vigilante in the biographical revenge thriller Machine Gun Preacher, which became the subject of legitimate controversy based on the film’s inspiration.

Gladiator II has just crossed a new box office milestone, entering the list of the top-grossing R-rated movies ever. Gladiator 2 reviews have been generally positive from critics since the movie's release last November, and the film, which also stars Denzel Washington and Pedro Pascal, became available on VOD starting December 24 while remaining available in theaters.
According to new data from The Numbers, Gladiator 2 has now grossed a total of $454 million worldwide, comprising $171 million domestic and $282 million from overseas territories. Gerard Butler is one of the most successful and recognizable actors in the world. Throughout his career, he has earned a reputation as an action movie star. Some of Gerard Butler's best action movies include Olympus Has Fallen, Copshop, Plane, Den of Thieves, and its sequel, the recently released Den of Thieves 2: Pantera. His roles in these films and many others have cemented him as a legendary action star, but it's his collaboration with Zack Snyder that stands out as his most iconic role.

Zack Snyder's 300, adapted from Frank Miller's comic book of the same name, depicts the brutal battle between the 300 Spartan soldiers and the entire Persian army at the Battle of Thermopylae. Sometimes, life imitates art, as the cast and stunt team on 300 underwent a similar battle to even get the movie made. The film stars Gerard Butler as King Leonidas, the leader of the 300 Spartans, all of whom gave their lives fighting the Persians. While Butler and his cast mates didn't go that far on set, there were certainly some war wounds left behind.
Speaking to People Magazine to promote Den of Thieves 2: Pantera, Butler recalled the painstaking injuries himself and his cast mates received while filming 300. It turns out, giving hundreds of actors and extras sharp and pointy swords isn't always the best idea. "I remember every day somebody was getting taken to the hospital,...

Action star Gerard Butler has had many accidents while filming. He discussed this while supporting his new movie, “Den of Thieves 2: Pantera,” on January 10. The Scottish star shared some stories as the film’s director announced plans for a third movie in the series.
During the filming of “300,” when the cast frequently required medical care, Butler experienced his most dramatic moments. Butler told People magazine that “every day, someone was being taken to the hospital.” He talked about instances where players got hurt badly, including one getting a spear in the eye and others breaking their ankles during fight scenes.
The actor has faced danger in more than one movie. In 2012, Butler needed hospital care and a defibrillator after nearly drowning while filming “Chasing Mavericks.” He has also had some close calls, like accidentally hurting Hilary Swank while filming “P.S. Zack Snyder’s 300 came out nearly two decades ago, and for many, it continues to be placed among the long list of classics that would unarguably go down as some of the finest in Hollywood’s entertainment industry. Starring Gerard Butler’s iconic performance in the lead alongside a star-studded cast, the project’s final cut was epic and widely commended by fans worldwide.

As much as the onscreen depiction was praiseworthy, the offscreen and behind-the-lens scenes were disastrous. Although surprising it may seem, the truth is that shooting this piece took an “insane” amount of actors getting injured behind the scenes. To say the least, delivering the manliest Spartans in the film was a nightmare, as Butler himself confessed.

Gerard Butler recalls the difficulties of filming 300 and how many of his co-stars were being taken to the hospital due to injuries.
Butler starred as the King of Sparta in the 2006 Zack Snyder film 300, in which the actor co-starred with Lena Headey, David Wenham, Dominic West, and many more.

Gerard Butler has long been a staple of the action genre, and it seems as if he's only leaned harder into this area of his career over the last decade or so. After becoming a big name due to movies like Reign of Fire (2002) and 300 (2006), Butler appeared in a handful of exciting action flicks, including RocknRolla (2008), Gamer (2009), and Machine Gun Preacher (2011). It was in 2013, however, that Butler's action hero persona really evolved.
In 2013, Butler starred in Olympus Has Fallen, which could be seen as the start of a new phase of his career. In addition to starring in two sequels to this White House action movie, including London Has Fallen (2016) and Angel Has Fallen (2019), Butler appeared in a mix of action-forward movies that varied quite significantly in quality, including Geostorm (2017), Hunter Killer (2018), Greenland (2020), Copshop (2021), and Plane (2023). There was one 2018 title, however, that really struck a chord with audiences.

Charlie Hunnam has certainly had an interesting route to stardom; although he would become widely recognized when he took on the role of Jax Teller in the critically acclaimed drama series Sons of Anarchy, Hunnam had been met with some disappointments early on in his career, despite his praised work in the Charles Dickens adaptation Nicholas Nickleby and his supporting role in the Civil War epic Cold Mountain. Hunnam had expressed a desire to work with filmmakers he respected and was very savvy in choosing roles that aligned with his career goals. Despite having a conversation with Zack Snyder that went “scene-by-scene, shot-by-shot, what 300 was going to be,” Hunnam chose to take on a supporting role in Alfonso Cuarón’s science fiction thriller Children of Men.

He journeys to Europe to find an old foe, only to end up falling in with a gang. It builds to a very riveting finale, giving Nick some tough choices as he ponders his personal and professional lives.

How does every Gerard Butler Action Movie rank beside each other, with Den of Thieves hitting theaters in 2025? Butler trained initially to become a lawyer before a change of heart saw him pursue acting inside. Oddly, his breakthrough role came as the titular bloodsucker in Dracula 2000, a movie that didn't win over audiences or critics. He always seemed on the cusp of stardom without entirely tipping over. That changed significantly thanks to Zack Snyder's 300 in 2007, where his mega turn as King Leonidas instantly propelled him to the A-list.
Over the years, Butler has made everything from tender dramas like Dear Frankie to rom-coms with P.S. I Love You or animation with the Watchmen horror spinoff Tales of the Black Freighter. However, action has become Butler's stock-in-trade, whether fantasy blockbusters or gritty cop thrillers. The star has cornered the market in terms of fronting modestly budget, R-rated action...

Ahead of the opening of Gerard Butler's Den of Thieves 2: Pantera this coming weekend, another one of his films is currently climbing the streaming charts. Last Seen Alive, which was a massive box office and critical bomb in 2022, is at number two in the Max international streaming charts. This despite a truly horrendous score on Rotten Tomatoes.
The film has a respectable cast with Butler, Jaimie Alexander (Thor), Russell Hornsby (The Hate U Give), and Ethan Embry (Sweet Home Alabama), and was directed by Brian Goodman, mostly known for his acting. Last Seen Alive follows Will (Butler) as he searches for his soon-to-be ex-wife, Lisa (Alexander), who goes missing while at a gas station. As is typical with these types of films, Will finds himself up against the small town's criminal element, while also on the run from the authorities.

Popularly known for his appearance in Zack Snyder’s 300, Gerard Butler has had an eventful life and envious career, through decades. Beginning as a lawyer and then transitioning into acting—where he found a renewed interest in life—Butler has appeared in more than a handful of films.

Quick Links 'Bunraku,' Is, in Fact, Style Over Substance Harrelson and Moore Bring It All Together
A Western-styled nomad with a secretive past and a samurai with a family’s honor to defend. For just a moment in 2010, these two culturally defining archetypes came together on the big screen for a martial arts action film unlike any other. 25 years later, some moviegoers still call director Guy Moshe’s third production unlike anything they have ever seen and one of the most unique viewing experiences of their life. On the other hand, The New York Post labeled Bunraku as “mind-numbingly dull”. In their own review, Variety also hopped on the same bandwagon and said that the two-hour excursion was “airless and lifeless.” In this case, which do you believe?

Before she was the toast of Hollywood, Ella Purnell had a starring role in Zack Snyder's 2021, Army of the Dead, and it's not the only time she's worked with the director. Army of the Dead is one of the Zack Snyder projects that feels a little bit lost to time. That's probably because it was released on Netflix in May 2021, smack-dab in the middle of the Covid-19 pandemic, not exactly when audiences were searching for a movie about a viral outbreak that destroys society and turns the afflicted into shambling, quarantined monsters.
It's a serviceable zombie action flick but feels a little half-baked in a few too many ways. Perhaps that's why audiences haven't attached themselves to it the same way Snyder fanboys have to movies like Justice League, Watchmen, and 300. Whatever issues the movie has, the cast isn't one of them. Ella Purnell, in particular, is a standout,...
