Final time Lita and Matt are in the same corner together. Hardy would take time off to recover from injuries. During this time, Lita began a relationship with Adam "Edge" Copeland. Resulting in a match at the 2005 SummerSlam..
The fans in attendance became "famous" at the time. They booed the faces and cheered the heels. Edge was booed despite competing in his hometown. The Diva Diva Dodgeball Match idea came up because the film Dodgeball: A True Underdog Story came out that summer and became a fad with dodgeball leagues springing up across the country. It was WWE's way of capitalizing on the fad., with the WWE Divas against the WWE Diva Search Contestants Unfortunately the WWE Divas got swept up the upstarts.
As a result, the Women's roster was brought forth to Wrestlers Court. This was because the guys backstage thought it was embarrassing that the Women's roster would lose to the rookies. Ivory served as the defense attorney, Sean Morley [Val Venis] was the prosecuting attorney and Triple H served as the judge (one of the rare cases that the Undertaker wasn't the judge). Ivory told the story in one of her shoot interviews.
The Women's defense was that the game was a 'work' meaning they let the Diva Search competitors win. This was a way to put the new girls over in order to make them look good. They wouldn't want to put them over in the ring, so a stupid dodgeball game was the perfect way to do it. Ivory says that Triple H and the rest of the boys shut down their defense and found them guilty for making the rest of the roster look bad.
They eventually bribed Triple H with some gift certificates and the charges were dropped.
