Movies have always had a way of connecting people and communities, as well as challenging the typical norms of society. While everyone loves a classic rom-com, things go up a notch when a movie tries to break barriers by telling stories that, in one way or another, push against societal taboos, especially when it comes to love, acceptance, and identity.
Roshan Sethi’s A Nice Indian Boy is such a movie that promises to bring a refreshing take on romance by exploring a same-sex relationship, that too with a mix of traditional Indian family values. With changing times, more and more filmmakers have embraced such storylines.

Director Roshan Sethi and stars Groff and Karan Soni (the “Deadpool” franchise) are challenging Hollywood norms with their cross-cultural love story, which debuted at SXSW. It aims to bring a fresh perspective to both LGBTQ+ and South Asian representation on screen.
The genesis of the project traces back to 2019, when Levantine Films optioned Madhuri Shekar’s play of the same name and Eric Randall adapted it as a screenplay. Sethi came aboard in 2021 after the producers saw his previous film “7 Days.” He then approached his real-life partner Soni to co-star. Groff signed on after watching “7 Days.”

Infections in 7 Days to Die happen after a bite from a zombie or hostile animal. There are four stages of infection which progress over the course of seven in-game days. If another Zombie attack happens, though, the infection progress speeds up. During Stage One of the infection, health and stamina arent affected. During Stage Two, stamina regeneration is affected by -25%. Stage Three results in -35% stamina regeneration and -1 to all other attributes. If left untreated, Stage Four results in immediate death.
Infections appear on the infection meter at the bottom left of the Hud. Once infected, the meter starts to rise. By Stage Three, the infection meter will read 100%. Unfortunately, infections are easy to get, but they arent so easy to cure, especially for new players. As implied by the name, 7 Days to Die, a Blood Moon happens every seven in-game days. Quick Links How To Adjust Your Game For More Xp Best Xp Farming Methods To Reach The Max Level Fast
Your survivability in 7 Days To Die increases dramatically when you reach the max Level cap in the game, but getting to this point fast can be a slog unless you know how to earn Xp fast. It's too easy to put yourself in danger just because you want to level up. Without the right plan, your character could easily die because of a reckless pursuit towards the max Level.
You can only reach Level 300 as of the 1.0 version of 7 Days To Die, with each Level requiring a certain amount of Xp to reach. For Levels 1-60, the amount of experience you need grows each time to gain a new Level. Upon hitting Level 60, the Xp required to go up another Level becomes fixed until the max of 300, where you no longer gain experience.

7 Days to Die finally came out of early access and officially released its 1.0 Version for all the platforms (on July 25th). The game features new and upgraded graphics, new mechanics, and new enemies.
However, players are not happy about everything as there are many issues found by them, as they play through the content. One of the most frustrating issues is with the Screamers and its ability to call other zombies.
7 Days to Die Players Want Developers to Nerf Screamer
In 7 Days to Die, players’ main goal is to survive and build a strong base. But to collect resources for survival like food, building materials, etc requires players to roam around the world (during the daytime), where they will encounter various enemies.
One of the most frustrating enemies to encounter is the Screamer, not only because they have a higher Hp but they also can summon more zombies when they scream.

With the recent release of version 1.0 of 7 Days to Die, many players are quite satisfied with the outcome and all the changes it brought. However, there is another large part of the community that still wants a bit more, at least in terms of content.
That’s why they are asking the studio in charge, The Fun Pimps, to consider the possibility of implementing endgame mechanics so that players can aim for something more. This type of content could be a tremendous help in keeping players motivated to reach a specific point.

7 Days to Die requires players to make creative builds to survive the horrors of the night in the game, which further requires sourcing materials and a little creativity to flourish in the game.
However, some players are not too well-versed in the building mechanics of the game and are not as creative as others with their hideouts. People are often scared of dying in the game, and that takes away the charm to the extent that they do not try to give their creativity even a chance.
7 Days to Die Players Should Embrace Death
A player recently opened up about his experience playing the game, he mentioned not being well versed with the game with only a little amount of game time in his years of owning the game. He confessed to skipping horde nights due to fear of dying, as he feels he is not too good at the game.

The long-awaited 1.0 release of 7 Days to Die is finally on the horizon, and while fans of the zombie survival game are thrilled to see the title leave Early Access after nearly a decade, some players are finding the new difficulty balance a bit hard to swallow.

The new 7 Days to Die update takes some fun stuff away from the gameplay. And players hate the update the most right now.
However, there are valid reasons behind why the devs did what they did. And even if players complain much about it, there is nothing to do but to move on. We are talking about the zombie loot aspect of the game, which has been apparently tweaked up.
Nostalgia Holds The Warmth of Joy in 7 Days to Die
Some critics mention that there was a time when the game was a sea of loot, with zombies frequently dropping valuable items. This helped players go on in the game without requiring them to venture into towns or other places of interest. But now, players notice that zombie drop rates have plummeted after the recent 1.0 release.

Another bug has hit 7 Days to Die. At least, this time around, it doesn’t make your game unplayable.
The number of bugs that seem to spawn from the game’s first full build is something to witness, as players constantly report new issues. The latest one to be discovered can turn you into a stealthy Super Saiyan, but players find it too cheesy.
No Need to Fear the Zombies in 7 Days to Die Anymore
Typically, zombies are the number one thing to fear in games like 7 Days to Die.
This was already debatable when people got the feeling that the random zombie encounters you get outside of Point of Interest zones were greatly reduced, but there was still fear on the odd chance you encountered one.
However, players have now discovered quite a significant bug that basically mitigates the fear of it all. You can be the stealth assassin of your dreams,...

7 Days to Die is a popular survival horror game that has been steadily supported with new content and features since its release back in 2013, but not all of its features are loved by players. One mechanic in particular has been receiving a lot of criticism; armor progression. Players are finding the system underwhelming and even frustrating to use due to a multitude of different reasons.

When starting out in 7 Days to Die 1.0, the Primitive Armor Set is your first step into gear. It is simple and pretty easy to upgrade to a quality level of 5. This set only has one mod slot, which most players fill with pocket mods to increase carrying capacity. It makes sense, and it works well enough in the early stages of the game.

One of the main mechanics of this first-person game is that players must craft their own weapons to survive the zombie hordes. However, it seems one player noticed a detail that doesn’t meet the realism standards they expect from the game.

Somebody seems to have a lot of faith in director James Bamford. After years of working as a stuntman and directing episodes of mostly DC Comics-related TV shows, Hard Home is his fourth film to see release this year. The fact that the previous three, Air Force One Down, Jade, and Shadow Land left a lot to be desired is, of course, another matter.
Here he’s working from a script by Mark Shea Price, whose previous credits consist of shorts such as The Mayans Were Right and Raised by Fish. It opens with Mary jogging through the woods and attracting the attention of a Polaroid-wielding psycho when she stops to check out an old cemetery.
He shrugs off being maced, but just as he’s about to kill her,...

I did not have Jonathan Groff singing “Tujhe Dekha To Yeh Jana Sanam” on my 2024 bingo card. The Broadway actor humbly steps into Indian culture in Roshan Sethi’s “A Nice Indian Boy,” which repeatedly connects back to Aditya Chopra’s “Dilwale Dulhania Le Jayenge” — the film that originated “Tujhe Dekha”.
Written by Eric Randall (and based on Madhuri Shekar’s play), “A Nice Indian Boy” is all about subverting stereotypes about Indian culture, both within and outside of the community. The title itself is a cheeky twist on every aunty’s favorite refrain: that when a girl is of the right age, she or her family will find her a “nice Indian boy” to settle down with.
This time, however, protagonist Naveen (Karan Soni) is the one planning to bring home a nice Indian boy, which is probably not what all those aunties were picturing. But “A Nice Indian Boy” delights in defying expectations,...

The upcoming Marvel Studios production Thunderbolts is going to feature multiple actors from various previous Marvel films and TV shows reprising their roles. It’s got Florence Pugh as Yelena Belova, Sebastian Stan as Bucky Barnes, David Harbour as Red Guardian, Julia Louis-Dreyfus as Valentina Allegra de Fontaine, Wyatt Russell as US Agent, Hannah John-Kamen as Ghost, and Olga Kurylenko as Taskmaster… and if Thunderbolts had started filming last summer, as it was supposed to before the strikes hit, it also would have had actress/writer/comedian Ayo Edebiri, whose credits include Big Mouth, The Bear, and Teenage Mutant Ninja Turtles: Mutant Mayhem, in the cast. Unfortunately for Edebiri, the production delay caused her to run into scheduling issues, so she has had to drop out of the project. Deadline reports that the character she was going to be playing will now be played by Geraldine Viswanathan.

Geraldine Viswanathan has replaced Ayo Edebiri in Thunderbolts due to scheduling conflicts, according to Deadline. The Bottoms actress was announced as a part of the cast early last year, but with the upcoming Marvel Cinematic Universe film suffering production delays following the WGA and SAG-AFTRA strikes that took place last summer, Edebiri is no longer available to shoot the MCU action film. Before taking over the undisclosed role in the anticipated blockbuster, Viswanathan was seen in Cat Person and 7 Days, making Thunderbolts the biggest project of her career, so far.

Watching an international version of Taskmaster has the uncanny quality of trying to explain a dream. The sets are the same, but also not. The theme music’s a match, but it’s playing over people and tasks you don’t recognise. The Taskmaster was there, but it wasn’t the Taskmaster, just some other tall man in a suit. And instead of the familiar comedian configuration of ‘two off telly, two off Twitter and one you’ve never heard of’, you (probably) haven’t heard of anybody.
Once you have your bearings though, free Taskmaster! Multiple new-to-you episodes to fill the gap while we wait for series 16. And it’s good stuff. The New Zealand version is particularly strong, with an excellent choice of Taskmaster’s Assistant and consistently funny comedians. Also, thanks to (the show’s own) joke that New Zealand has a population of just eight people,...

If you’d like to see the world’s saddest math equation, just watch “World’s Best.” After being given a lighthearted “equation of me” homework assignment on the first day of school, 12-year-old Prem Patel (Manny Magnus) formulates the following: Prem = (mom + dad) x math + Jerome – dad.” A math whiz still reeling from the loss of his father, Prem proves easy to root for as he navigates adolescence in “7 Days” director Roshan Sethi’s coming-of-age dramedy. But while the Disney+ original ultimately receives a passing grade, it doesn’t exactly ace the assignment the way its protagonist so often does.
Prem’s ostensible nemesis as he prepares for the upcoming Mathlympics competition is fellow math genius Claire (Piper Wallace), who literally haunts his stress dreams and proudly declares that her family “doesn’t celebrate summer” after being asked how she spent the last three months, while his best friend...

Mark Duplass and Sterling K. Brown have survived the apocalypse. Now what?
The “Safety Not Guaranteed” star and “This Is Us” alum actor play the two last men on Earth who must adapt and evolve to save humanity in Mel Eslyn’s debut feature “Biosphere.” The film premiered at 2022 TIFF and is executive produced by Mark Duplass and Jay Duplass.
Per the official synopsis, Billy (Duplass) and Ray (Brown) are lifelong best friends, brothers from another mother —they also happen to be the last two men on Earth. Their survival is largely due to Ray, a brilliant scientist who designed the custom biosphere they call home, outfitting it with both creature comforts and the necessities to sustain life on a doomed planet. When the population of their fishpond — which supplies essential protein — begins waning, the men find themselves facing an ominous future. But life may yet find a way…

"You don't need to be married to cuddle with someone." That's true! Cinedigm has revealed the trailer for 7 Days, marking the feature directorial debut of filmmaker Roshan Sethi. This premiered at the 2021 Tribeca Film Festival last year and it just won for Best First Feature at the 2022 Indie Spirit Awards. As if their pre-arranged date, organized by their traditional Indian parents, wasn't uncomfortable enough, Ravi and Rita are forced to shelter in place together as Covid-19's reach intensifies. Ravi and Rita seemingly have nothing in common. The situation turns both awkward and enlightening when they find themselves trapped inside together for a week. Starring Geraldine Viswanathan and Karan Soni. It's executive produced by the Duplass Brothers, who are some of the best supporters of up-and-coming indie filmmakers. This looks really sweet! And awkwardly fun. Even though it's yet another pandemic comedy about being stuck together. Here's the official US...

But when you add the complications of coronavirus on top of all that, the chances of finding a significant other drop considerably. For some, an old-fashioned arranged marriage might not sound so bad at this point.

The 37th Annual Independent Spirit Awards took place on Sunday, returning to an in-person format following last year’s virtual ceremony. Many of the biggest names in the independent film community made the trek out to the beach in Santa Monica with the hopes of taking home the most coveted prizes in indie film. While the Spirit Awards typically take place the week before the Oscars, this year’s unique Covid-influenced awards season calendar meant that they were held nearly a month in advance. Hollywood couple Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally served as emcees of the proceedings.
This year’s class of nominees draws from films largely shut out from the Oscars, with indie hits like Oscar nominee “The Lost Daughter,” “C’mon C’mon,” and “Zola” racking up the most nominations. “The Lost Daughter” cleaned up, with three wins for Netflix including Best Feature and Best Director Maggie Gyllenhaal. The 37th annual Film Independent Spirit Awards were handed out Sunday at the Santa Monica Pier, with comedy power couple Nick Offerman and Megan Mullally serving as hosts.

Ruth Negga won Best Supporting Female Actor for “Passing,” beating out Jessie Buckley from “The Lost Daughter.”

A practicing physician (no really), Sethi is also co-creator of Fox’s “The Resident.” Karan Soni co-wrote and stars in ‘Days.’ The actor is himself no stranger to directing — making his directorial debut on an episode of HBO’s “Room 104.” The film also stars Geraldine Viswanathan, the break-out star of “Blockers,” and the star of her endearing rom-com in “The Broken Hearts Gallery” and currently stars on “Miracle Workers” on TBS.

Three awards ceremonies are taking place the weekend of March 5. On Saturday, a double dose of the Art Directors Guild (Adg) and American Cinema Editors Awards (Ace Eddies), and on Sunday, the Film Independent Spirit Awards, airing on IFC.
Paying special attention to Adg and Ace Eddies since there’s Oscar crossover, we’re expecting a couple of surprises at both. On the Adg side, “Dune” and “Nightmare Alley” should reign triumphant, but “Don’t Look Up” may overcome fellow Netflix property “The Lost Daughter.”
At Ace Eddies, there’s a possible upset on the drama side in the favor of “King Richard’s” Pamela Martin, besting Joe Walker for “Dune.” On the other hand, “Tick, Tick … Boom!” is expected to sneak past “Licorice Pizza.”
What’s most interesting is that there is very little to no presence of the presumed Oscar frontrunners this weekend, including Jane Campion’s “The Power of the Dog,...

SEEOscars 2022: 20 movie reunions we would love to see happen on the ceremony, including ‘The Godfather,’ ‘Titanic,’ ‘Harry Potter’ and more
The Indie Spirit Awards winners are voted on by members of Film Independent. Membership is open to any movie fans who pay $95 in yearly dues, which often leads to the highest-profile Oscar contenders winning top prizes against less widely publicized films. But this year Film Independent snubbed many of the Oscar front-runners; this is only the second time in the last 13 years that there are no Best Picture Oscar nominees among the Spirit contenders for Best Feature.
The black comedy “Zola” led the nominations with seven including Best Feature, Best...

“Zola,” a darkly comic look at a part-time stripper’s Florida trip gone horribly wrong, topped nominations for the 37th Film Independent Spirit Awards, picking up a leading seven nods.
But the film, which is based on a Twitter thread that went viral, faces fierce competition in the best feature category. It’s up against “The Novice,” a twisty thriller that scored five nominations, as well as “The Lost Daughter,” an adaptation of Elena Ferrante’s novel of the same name, which scored four nominations. Rounding out the feature film race are “A Chiara,” an Italian-language family drama, and “C’mon C’mon,” a warm-hearted look at an uncle’s relationship with his young nephew.
The nominations were announced Tuesday by Beanie Feldstein, Regina Hall and Naomi Watts. Returning in-person in 2022 after going virtual due to Covid in 2021, the awards highlight and celebrate movies that are, for the most part, produced and...
