One of the most intriguing aspects of Marvel and DC has been both companies dabbling in the anime medium in the past. DC, in particular, impressed fans with 2018's Batman Ninja. This movie dealt with Batman and the Bat-family being transported across space-time to a feudal era of Japan. There, they had to fight anime versions of the Bat-rogues.

Batman Ninja ended with the masterminds, Joker and Harley, being arrested. Batman used the device known as the Quake Engine to send them back home. Batman Ninja vs. Yakuza League picks up right where that story left off. Once again, the Bat-family faces new iterations of enemies; this time they're the Yakuza League. It builds to an explosive ending that shows once more how valuable the concept of unity is.

Though acclaimed composer Hans Zimmer is synonymous with crafting music for the directors of several high-profile directors, his work alongside Oscar-winning director Christopher Nolan remains among the most recognized throughout his career. Though Zimmer holds no hard feelings towards Nolan years after their creative breakup, he admits the prominent filmmaker feels like "life or death."

Speaking with Deadline, Zimmer addressed his long-time working relationship with Nolan, who he collaborated with on seven feature films, including The Dark Knight trilogy and Interstellar. Zimmer and Nolan's creative partnership ended when Zimmer passed on composing music for Tenet in favor of Denis Villeneuve's Dune, initially causing friction between them before they patched things up. Zimmer confirmed the two remain "good friends" and hasn't ruled out a reunion for a future project. However, Zimmer admitted working with him was a “life or death situation … our relationship has always been like this.”

There have been a lot of rough DC Comics movies but which ones are truly the worst of the worst?

DC started early on the superhero movie trend with 1978’s Superman and later 1989’s Batman. However, despite successes like Wonder Woman and Aquaman, the Dceu faltered compared to the MCU. Somehow, Warner Bros and DC couldn’t make it all work right and it all came to a lame ending.

There have been some pretty poor to outright bad movies based on DC Comics such as Batman v Superman or The Flash. However, there are several films that stand out for how truly awful they are and leave us thinking they shouldn't have happened. They waste great casts and story potential while also being just flat-out terrible movies.

Warner Bros. has made some changes to its release calendar. Among the movies receiving new release dates is Maggie Gyllenhaal's The Bride!, which features Christian Bale as Frankenstein's Monster.

Per The Hollywood Reporter, Warner Bros. has pushed The Bride! back almost six months, moving the monster movie out of 2025 completely and into the first quarter of 2026. Instead of Sept. 26, 2025, The Bride! will now open in theaters on March 6, 2026. The other five movies from the studio that saw their release dates change include Paul Thomas Anderson’s One Battle After Another, which is moving back from Aug. 8 into The Bride!'s old Sept. 16 release spot. The Dark Knight trilogy actor Gary Oldman recalls the note Christopher Nolan gave him that is one of the best he's received in his career. Coming off of successes like Memento (2000) and Insomnia (2002), Nolan entered the world of comic book adaptations with Batman Begins in 2005. Christian Bale played the role of Batman, aka Bruce Wayne, throughout Nolan's Dark Knight trilogy, with Oldman playing a prominent role as ally Jim Gordon, who eventually becomes Police Commissioner in The Dark Knight (2008).

During a recent interview with The Late Show with Stephen Colbert, Oldman recalls that filming one scene for The Dark Knight trilogy resulted in Nolan giving him one of the best notes he has ever received from a director. Showtime has cast David Dastmalchian (Oppenheimer) in Dexter: Resurrection in the guest starring role of “Gareth.” Production on the Dexter: New Blood followup series kicked off in January in New York and is set to premiere this summer on Paramount+ with Showtime.

Led by Michael C. Hall who returns to the role of the titular serial killer, the cast also includes returning stars David Zayas as Detective Angel Batista, Jack Alcott as Dexter’s son Harrison Morgan and James Remar as Dexter’s father Harry Morgan.

New additions also include Uma Thurman as Charley, Peter Dinklage as Leon Prater, Ntare Guma Mbaho Mwine as Blessing Kamara, Kadia Saraf as Detective Claudette Wallace, Dominic Fumusa as Detective Melvin Oliva and Emilia Suárez as Elsa Rivera.

David Dastmalchian is set to guest star on Showtime’s “Dexter: Resurrection,” which began production in January and is slated to premiere this summer on Paramount+.

The actor, whose best known for his roles in Christopher Nolan’s “Oppenheimer” and “The Dark Knight,” will portray a character named Gareth. Specific details about the role were not disclosed.

Dastmalchian’s other credits include “The Suicide Squad,” “Dune: Part One,” “The Last Voyage of the Demeter” and “Late Night with the Devil.” He’ll be seen next in Apple TV+’s “Murderbot” series premiering this May, and “Life of Chuck” debuting in June.

Dastmalchian is repped by Atlas Artists, Persona PR and attorney Duncan Hedges.

Netflix viewers are urging science fiction fans to watch one of the streamer’s most underrated shows. The series, which boasts a perfect score of 100% on Rotten Tomatoes, is titled Pantheon, and tackles issues such as death, the overreach of technology, and what it means to be human. The animated series has tragically flown under the radar since it began back in 2022, but now, fans of the sci-fi drama are pushing to raise the profile of Pantheon, taking to social media to persuade streamers to add the series to their lists.

Someone of his caliber could have elevated the longest-running franchise of the last 20 years — the Marvel Cinematic Universe — into something more epic, but he has his eyes set elsewhere. To be completely honest, I don't blame him, as even he has outshined the scope of the MCU.

Hans Zimmer has voiced his frustration with the Academy’s decision to disqualify his Dune: Part Two score from Oscars consideration, calling the rule behind the ruling “stupid.” Speaking on the Happy Sad Confused podcast with Josh Horowitz, the composer explained why he disagrees with the decision but does not see it as a personal slight.

“You know something? It’s not really a sore point. It’s just such a stupid point—how can it be a sore point?” Zimmer said. “I got disqualified because I was using material from the first movie in the second movie, but it’s not a sequel. It is the completion, both movies are one arc.” He questioned whether he was supposed to remove all character themes and create entirely new ones rather than expanding on the established music.

Reacher star Alan Ritchson has revealed that he doesn't think his Hunger Games character's death looked very realistic. Ritchson portrayed the villainous Gloss in Catching Fire.

In an interview with Wired, Ritchson answered some of the web's most searched questions about himself, which included talking about his Hunger Games: Catching Fire character. "I was the guy that slit that little old lady's throat," Ritchson said when asked about Gloss, going on to explain his character originally had a different ending. "Actually, I took an arrow to the face. So, I played it like it was to the face. And then, I think they decided in post that was a little too gruesome to take an arrow to the face by Katniss, so they changed it to my chest."

While audiences may have seen Gloss taking an arrow to the chest, Ritchson insisted that wasn't the way he acted out the scene when filming.
