Jimmy Kimmel has teamed with entrepreneur and producer Brent Montgomery to launch media company Kimmelot as a joint venture with Montgomery’s Wheelhouse Entertainment.
As part of the agreement, Kimmel also will become a partner in Wheelhouse Entertainment, the company Montgomery started in January 2018 after stepping down from his post as CEO of ITV America.
Kimmelot, which will be based in Los Angeles, will serve as Kimmel’s “creative lab” and will develop and produce unscripted and scripted projects for linear TV and digital as well as app/mobile-based content.
Going forward, Kimmel will produce all of his projects through Kimmelot. He will remain a partner in Jackhole Prods., the company he created with Daniel Kellison and Adam Carolla two decades ago, which produces Jimmy Kimmel Live!
Kimmel is able to launch a joint venture with independent producer Montgomery as he does not have a production deal with Disney-ABC.

Meg Ryan is attached to produce–and potentially star–in a single-camera comedy series currently in the works at NBC.
The project is titled “The Obsolescents” and takes place in a New Jersey suburb where the facade of peace and civility is disrupted by the shocking death of a long-time Township Council member.
The series hails from writer and executive producer Andrew Gottlieb, with Lorne Michaels and Andrew Singer also executive producing via Broadway Video along with Ryan. Universal Television will produce along with Broadway Video, which is currently under an overall deal at the studio.
Should the project move forward with Ryan starring, it would mark one of the few TV roles the actress has taken on in her career. She is known for her film roles, having starred in features like “When Harry Met Sally,” “Sleepless in Seattle,” and ‘You’ve Got Mail.” It was also announced last...

A little under a year ago we got tremendously excited when we learned that VH1 Classic was going to be reborn as MTV Classic. Visions of Remote Control marathons filled our heads along with the chance to finally see if lost classics like The State, The Ben Stiller Show, The Tom Green Show and The Andy Milonakis Show lived up to our memories. The MTV vault was overflowing with half-forgotten gems and this seemed like the perfect opportunity to see them again.

Donald Trump’s boorish behavior during this election season isn’t exactly a surprise to anyone who’s been paying attention to the news. He frequently insults his opponents with childish nicknames to his crowd of supporters, and though he’s largely moved away from that now that he has sewed up the Gop nomination, Jimmy Kimmel has no problem reminding his viewers of Trump’s bullying tactics.
On last night’s episode of “Jimmy Kimmel Live!,” Kimmel played a supercut of Trump’s nicknames for other candidates — Little Marco, Crazy Bernie, Crooked Hillary, etc. Then, he brought out his crew of Troompa Loompas again to sing a Wonka-esque number about Trump’s behavior, complete with breakdancing and a reference to Trump’s old reality show “The Apprentice.” Watch the video below.

Endemol Beyond USA and Andy Milonakis have a released an original series that promises to be the only show on any medium that combines the 38-year-old comedian and a global voyage around the world focused on food. The aptly titled Andy’s Hungry Voyage just dropped its first episode on January, 23, 2015, and in it Milonakis travels to Crete, Greece to try the local cuisine.
In the premiere episode, Milonakis returns to Papadiana on the island of Crete, which was his childhood vacation spot and the location where his father was born. Milonakis spends most of the episode showing off family photos and introducing his relatives, but there is, of course, some tasty food included, too. The digital star helps his family put together a traditional Grecian meal, complete with his favorite dish of kalitsounia.

Andy Milonakis was once bullied for his looks, but that hasn’t stopped him from gaining some very positive attention from the media. The comedian, rapper, writer, and actor has signed an overall deal with Endemol Beyond USA for TV and digital developments. Milonakis is well-known for writing and creating his sketch comedy series The Andy Milonakis Show on MTV and MTV2 from 2005-2007 (Jimmy Kimmel, himself a popular TV star and social media aficionado, produced Milonakis’s series after discovering him online and hiring him as a writer for Jimmy Kimmel Live). The 38-year-old also partnered with MyDamnChannel when it launched in 2007 to create a weekly vlog where he could rant away to his heart’s content. He’s also starred in several high-profile music videos, like “Pocket Like It’s Hot” and “Neato.” Milonakis’s first project under the Endemol pact will be a series called Andy’s Hungry Voyage.

This Sunday, late-night anchor Jimmy Kimmel will step into the Emmy spotlight at the 64th Primetime Emmy Awards.
Making his Emmy host debut, Kimmel will move from the audience to the stage, as his ABC show Jimmy Kimmel Live! has won three Emmys and is nominated this year for Outstanding Variety Series.
Aside from his late-night series, Kimmel is most known being the funny co-host of Comedy Central’s The Man Show with Adam Carolla from 1999 to 2003. In April, he hosted the prestigious White House Correspondents’ Dinner.
Kimmel is joining the ranks of some of the most popular (and unpopular) hosts in Emmy history. Some of the more revered hosts include Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz (1952), Johnny Carson (1971-74) and Neil Patrick Harris (2009). But let’s get real: As long as it’s better than the reality show hosts in 2008, featuring Tom Bergeron, Heidi Klum,...

Move over, Adult Swim; there’s a new player in the pool. For more than ten years now, Cartoon Network’s Adult Swim programming block has been the place to find some of the most progressive, insane and “mature” animated programming on TV (stateside, at least). Due to its role in reviving such series as Family Guy and Futurama, Fox has paid attention to Adult Swim’s success over the years and saw that there was money to be made. Already promoting their “animation domination” with regular series Family Guy, The Simpsons and more, Fox has now developed a new unit of animation to focus on a late-night block of animated programming. Not only will this new unit focus on televised programming, they will also have counterparts running online. The shows will air on Saturdays from 11Pm to 12:30 Am Et/Pt and will feature four new animated series each season,...

Jonah Ray’s BarBeQuay is a quirky new party type spin on the ol’ talk show format hosted by comedian Jonah Ray that you can see on maniaTV. You might remember Jonah Ray from The Freeloader’s Guide To Easy Living, his writing on SuperNews!, or even as Clancy on Saul of the Mole Men. Now you can find Jonah interviewing some extremely hilarious and cool people like Janeane Garofalo, Steve Agee, Har Mar Superstar and others at his BarBeQuay. Jonah Ray’s BarBeQuay is the creation of Jonah and his friend, writer/director Mason Steinberg. The pair met on The Andy Milonakis Show where Mason was a writer and Jonah the ill-fated writer’s assistant. “It was a disaster,” said Jonah, “I had been fired from the Arclight and was offered this job and I had no idea what I was doing.”...

Universal nabs 'Raindrops' spec
Universal Pictures has put on its galoshes and raincoat for Raindrops All Around Me, a comedy spec penned by Reed Agnew and Eli Jorne. Ben Stiller, Stuart Cornfeld and Jeremy Kramer will produce via their Red Hour Films banner.
The story centers on a socially inept high school teacher who learns to "dumb it down" in order to fit in with the people around him.
The deal was in the mid- to high-six figures.
Universal's Lawrence Grey and David Ortiz will oversee the project for the studio.
Stiller is not formally attached to star at this point, though future script developments might change that. He directed, co-wrote and stars (alongside Jack Black and Robert Downey Jr.) in the summer comedy Tropic Thunder, which Red Hour produced.
Agnew, who previously worked in journalism, has worked on comedy shows including Drawn Together, Crank Yankers and The Andy Milonakis Show. Jorne, a graduate of the AFI screenwriting program, previously sold the feature pitch Cruise Ship to Jerry Weintraub at Warner Bros. with a different writing partner, Charlie McDowell.

'Andy Milonakis' getting multiplatformed by MTV
MTV plans to release the entire upcoming season of The Andy Milonakis Show on Apple's iTunes a month before its first episode premieres on TV, the network is set to announce Tuesday.
The iTunes window is just one aspect of a multiplatform plan to launch the third season of Andy Milonakis, which began as an Internet sensation. The series returns to MTV2 on April 27.
"This show has a very sort of cult following, making it best suited to be exploited across platforms," said Brian Graden, president of entertainment at MTV Music Group and president of Logo. "The look of the show also has a very much broadband type of ethos to it. We just thought this franchise seemed perfect for this strategy."
The premiere episode will be offered this week as a free download through iTunes, while the entire six-episode season will be available for $9.99 and individual episodes for $1.99.
Beginning March 27, episodes also will be available for purchase via Amazon Unbox, AOL Video, Wal-Mart Video Downloads and Xbox Live Marketplace for $1.99 each.

MTV dices up programs for Stew channel
MTV is expected to announce a slate of new broadband, mobile and shortform programming Tuesday, following the success of the company's initial forays into these areas. A new channel called the Stew will launch on www.mtv.com/overdrive as a broadband home for on-demand shortform programs, including original content, editorially selected user-generated submissions and footage from MTV's extensive archives. In addition to moments from Jackass, Andy Milonakis, Stankervision and other shows, viewers will get highlights like Denis Leary's infamous Cindy Crawford rant and Kurt Loder's impromptu interview with Madonna and Courtney Love from the MTV Video Music Awards.

MTV2 embraces YouTube.com
YouTube.com, a popular video-sharing Web site that was smacked around in recent weeks by CBS and NBC, is starting to make friends in the TV world. The site has struck its first formal partnership to obtain copyrighted content with MTV2, a cable channel overseen by Viacom's MTV Networks, a spokesman confirmed. YouTube has drawn sharp criticism from broadcasters for allowing its users to upload pirated programming from the airwaves without permission. MTV2 is seeding YouTube.com with multiminute clips from a pair of series promoting new seasons and DVD releases this month: The Andy Milonakis Show and Wonder Showzen. The Web site already is home to dozens of other clips drawn from the network but uploaded to YouTube without the network's consent.
