This film was based on the true story of Joshua Anderson, who at age 12, was killed when his skateboard left the sidewalk and was hit by a five ton delivery truck going the same direction.
In the accident scene as David (Jeff Langtim) is hit in the intersection, it can be scene that the vehicle is moving in an intended slow motion master shot, however, not in the cut away.
