In the two decades since wrapping up his 10-season run as neurotic paleontologist Ross Geller on the beloved NBC sitcom “Friends,” David Schwimmer has branched out across genres and mediums.

Following the series finale of “Friends” in 2004, Schwimmer, unlike his costars, decided to move from Los Angeles back to his native New York City, and briefly stepped away from the spotlight. He has spent the intervening years chasing his own creative pursuits: returning to his first love of theater and conquering the West End and Broadway stages; voicing Melman the giraffe in the “Madagascar” franchise; appearing in some niche indies; and parlaying his experience as an episodic director into helming his own features.

Many actors have had what if moments in their lives, and Friends star David Schwimmer has been recalling one of the biggest brutal decisions that he made about his career turning down a role in the 1997 hit Men In Black. The Will Smith and Tommy Lee Jones movie turned Smith into a movie star, and Schwimmer is fully aware that it could have helped his own movie star aspirations.

Schwimmer is best known for his role as Ross Geller in the popular 90s sitcom, and, in fact, almost all of his most remembered appearances have been on TV. However, he has made appearances in many movies, such as The Pallbearer, Big Nothing, and the Madagascar franchise. But there is a chance he could have had many more big titles to his name if he had chosen to take on a role offered to him in Men in Black.

Actress Alice Eve has recently become engaged to her high school sweetheart, financier Alex Cowper-Smith.

Eve’s reps confirmed her engagement to Cowper-Smith to People on Thursday.

Eve and Cowper-Smith first dated when they were both in high school at London’s Westminster School but eventually split. Aspiring actress Eve went on to college at Oxford, where she struck up a romance with poet Adam O’Riodan, whom she split from in 2012.

Eve has also been linked to her 1:30 Train co-star Chris Evans. The actors were spotted out on a dinner date in New York City in December 2013, but neither party confirmed that they were dating.

It’s unknown when exactly Eve and her former flame reunited.

Screenwriter Damon Lindelof has tweeted an 'apology' to fans offended by a revealing scene involving English actress, Alice Eve's character 'Carol Marcus', in "Star Trek Into Darkness".

In the film Eve is revealed in her underwear before changing into a space suit, as an homage to actress Sigourney Weaver's 'Ripley' character in "Alien":

"I copped to the fact that we should have done a better job of not being gratuitous in our representation of a barely clothed actress," tweeted Lindelof. "...what I’m saying is I hear you, I take responsibility and will be more mindful in the future..."

People are always complaining about how much Americans suck at doing accents, whether it's Kevin Costner as "Robin Hood" or Keanu Reeves seemingly coming off a heroin addiction in "Bram Stoker's Dracula." And we do suck sometimes, yes.

However, we want to at least even the playing field a little by pointing out some bafflingly bad American accents perpetrated by thesps from overseas. Europe and Australia may have the best acting academies and such, but not every graduate is as versatile as they should be, starting with a certain Gerard Butler from this past weekend's "Olympus Has Fallen."

This week's "Olympus Has Fallen" is cheesy fun, but Butler's American cadence is just … off. Granted, he's a bit more convincing than his oft-compared Scottish soul mate Sean Connery, but the "300" star has tried his hand at miming our accent in disasters like "The Bounty Hunter" and the recent surfing drama "Chasing Mavericks.

Some movies will always make me laugh, but let’s face it; the same movies might make others yawn. Comedy is tricky business, the hardest genre to pull off form script to screen. Little is known about Alice Eve's character in "Star Trek 2" beyond the fact that she's new to the "Trek" universe. If there's anything we've learned about the ultra-secretive production it's that we aren't likely to get any new details about the flick from the stars, so MTV News decided to go a different route when chatting with Eve recently about her role.

Come this April will we all be raving about 'The Raven'? Or rolling our eyes in utter disgust at the James McTeigue directed tale. The story which is a fictionalised account of the life of Edgar Allan Poe who teams up with a young detective to track a serial killer who has been using Poe's works as his influence for his brutal killings. It stars the always solid John Cusack all goateed up for his role as Edgar and you can catch a little more of him in the new UK trailer which has just seen the light of day. Cusack is joined by Luke Evans, Brendan Gleeson ('The Village') and sexy Brit Alice Eve ('Big Nothing'). Alice Eve (Big Nothing) has been cast in J.J. Abrams’ as-yet-untitled Star Trek sequel.

The actress, best known for her role in She’s Out of My League, beat out Hayley Atwell (Captain America: The First Avenger) and Teresa Palmer (I am Number Four) for the unspecified role.

Most of the original cast, including Chris Pine, Zachary Quinto, Zoe Saldana and Anton Yelchin, are expected to return for the sequel, with Benicio Del Toro on board as the villain.

Plot details, on the other hand, are being held closely under wraps, but expect more details to trickle out as the film edges closer and closer to its imminent production start date.

The film will be released on May 17, 2013.

This sounds like a film to look out for. We got a promo poster for The Iceman back in the summer, when Michael Shannon, James Franco, and Benicio del Toro were attached in the leads.

Unfortunately, Franco and del Toro have since had to exit the project, but word now comes via Variety that David Schwimmer is entering the foray in an unusually dark dramatic role for him.

The Iceman is based on a true story, adapted from Anthony Bruno’s book, The Iceman: The True Story of a Cold-Blooded Killer. Shannon is joined by the likes of the brilliant Maggie Gyllenhaal and Ray Liotta, and now Schwimmer too. Most recently seen in Machine Gun Preacher alongside Gerard Butler and Michelle Monaghan, and next leading Take Shelter (due out on 25th November), Shannon will star as,

The movie sees Edgar Allan Poe tied up in a serial killer investigation where the murdering mentalist is using his works as the source of his murderous ways. Poe is played by John Cusack ('Grosse Point Blank', 'Hot Tub Time Machine') whilst raunchy hottie Alice Eve -below ('Big Nothing', 'She's Out of My League') plays Poe's wife Virginia. Jay Baruchel has got quite a lot going for him lately. He gets to run along a crazed Nic Cage while he does in The Sorcerer’s Apprentice, and now he gets to play the not-so-good-looking guy in a romantic comedy called She’s Out of My League.

Leaning towards more “comedy” than “romantic,” the story takes the convention of “Average boy meets hot girl” and throws it on it’s head. Baruchel (Tropic Thunder) plays Kirk, an average Joe who happens across Molly, played by Alice Eve (Big Nothing, Starter for 10). They end up dating, and Kirk has no idea what to do with himself.
