Tom Clancy's Jack Ryan star John Krasinski has shared an image of himself as the titular character in the upcoming movie. While the Amazon Prime Video show ended in 2023, last fall it was announced that the streamer, Krasinski, and the show's producers were moving ahead with a film. And the movie is already in production in Dubai, according to Krasinski's Instagram post.

The image sees Krasinski as Ryan dressed in black while holding a rifle, standing with the city behind him. The actor wrote:

Exclusive: Oscar winner Melissa Leo, Jacob Scipio and Lou Llobell are boarding André Øvredal’s untitled horror movie for Paramount and Walter Hamada’s 18hz.

Former Warner Bros production executive Hamada is producing the pic via his production company as part of his first-look deal with Paramount, alongside It screenwriter Gary Dauberman via Coin Operated. The screenplay is written by Zachary Donohue and T.W. Burgess; the plot, of course, is under wraps. Nathan Samdahl of 18hz will executive produce. Hamada is also producing Primate, which is in post-production, at Paramount.

Leo won an Oscar for Best Supporting Actress in 2011 for Paramount’s David O. Russell-directed The Fighter. She’s starred in such movies as Frozen River, on which she received an Oscar nom for Best Actress, and Denis Villeneuve’s Prisoners, The Equalizer franchise, Oliver Stone’s Snowden and the HBO series I Know This Much Is True. The first bone-chilling teaser-trailer for Netflix’s “The Monster of Florence” from Italian genre specialist Stefano Sollima has been unveiled. In an exclusive with Variety, the streamer has released the first footage from the hotly-anticipated serial killer series, about a string of sex-related murders that took place outside Florence from the late 1960s to the mid-1980s.

Sollima, known for the gritty TV hit “Gomorrah” and movies “Sicario: Day of the Soldado” and “Without Remorse,” spent more than a year researching the still unsolved case of “The Monster”, the moniker given to the alleged serial killer who committed eight double murders, preying on couples parked in cars in secluded places around Florence. “The Monster” always used the same weapon, a 22 caliber Beretta.

The cold case marks one of the longest investigations into the most brutal serial killings in Italian history.

Ryan Coogler's upcoming horror film, which sees him reunite with longtime collaborator Michael B. Jordan, has just received a new release date.

Per Deadline, Sinners has moved from its original March 7 release date back to April 18, switching with Bong Joon-ho's sci-fi film, Mickey 17. Sinners' move to Easter weekend is reportedly due to it being shot on film and "the scarcity of labs to do the work" during post-production. The release date swap between the two films is ultimately a win-win, as Mickey 17 will now have more access to IMAX screens during its opening weekend, while Sinners can receive more time in post-production.

The film, based on Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six novel, is set to star Jordan in the lead role as John Clark, reprising his role from Without Remorse. Jordan’s adaptation of Tom Clancy’s Rainbow Six, but the movie has finally been given a surprisingly positive update by director Chad Stahelski. The John Wick franchise veteran was originally announced to be directing a version of Clancy’s novel-turned-video game series, with Jordan reprising his role as John Kelly from the 2021 movie, Without Remorse. However, since then, there has been little movement on the movie, but Stahelski has now broken the silence.

Speaking with The Direct, Stahelski explained why the film is taking a while to get going, and it seems to be the same age-old story of taking the time needed to get things right. Stahelski said:

In January 2023, Chad Stahelski was announced to direct Rainbow Six with Michael B. Jordan starring, via The Hollywood Reporter. A month later, THR revealed that Daniel Fajemisin-Duncan and Marlon Smith, co-creators of 2013's Run, would write the piece.

The film will be a sequel to 2021's Prime Video exclusive Without Remorse, which adapted another Tom Clancy book and which followed Michael B. Jordan's U.S. Navy Seal, John Kelly—the same person who goes on to create the Rainbox Six organization.

Chris Pratt is one busy leading man, and his upcoming film just got a major global deal. The actor will team up with McG to adapt Way of the Warrior Kid.

Deadline reports that the adaptation, which the outlet first announced in late April, has secured a major deal. Way of the Warrior Kid comes from Jock Willink, a retired Navy Seal who became a popular author and podcast host. The first novel, Way of the Warrior Kid: From Wimpy to Warrior the Navy Seal Way, premiered in 2017, and the fifth book in the series premiered in 2022.

As Skydance wrapped up its merger deal with Paramount, the studio has also secured a global deal for a film package that includes Chris Pratt for the adaptation of Way of the Warrior Kid, which came out to $80-$85 million dollars. According to Deadline, that total made this the single biggest package deal out of the film market since Apple had attached onto Emancipation back in 2020. It was revealed just ahead of the Cannes market that Pratt was set to star in the project for director McG.

In the midst of Garfield steadily snacking at the worldwide box office, a new project for the film's leading star just landed a new home. A report from Deadline revealed that Way of the Warrior Kid, starring Chris Pratt and directed by McG, has been secured by Skydance. The 2024 Cannes deal is reported to be between $80-85 million, which would make it the biggest acquisition since Apple secured the rights to Will Smith's Emancipation in 2020 for $105 million. Way of the Warrior Kid is aiming to begin production sometime this summer, and Will Staples, will pen the screenplay which is being adapted from Jock Willink's novel.

Exclusive: One of the market’s biggest-budget projects, the Will Smith action-crime thriller Sugar Bandits, has sealed multi-million dollar deals across the world for AGC ahead of a planned September start date.

Oscar winner Smith, soon to be seen reprising his role in the Bad Boys franchise, will play a former special forces soldier who runs an elite vigilante squad working to wipe out the drug trade in Boston.

Chinese tech and media giant Alibaba is investing $640M (Hk$5Bn) into Hong Kong’s creative industries over the next five years.

The funding will come via multiple divisions in Alibaba’s Digital Media and Entertainment Group, including Alibaba Pictures and streaming platform Youku.

The plan, called the “Hong Kong Cultural and Art Industry Revitalisation Program,” is a joint initiative of Alibaba and leading Hong Kong production companies including Edko Films, Mandarin Motion Pictures, Media Asia, Universe Entertainment, One Cool Group, Shaw Brothers and Emperor Motion Pictures.

Beijing-headquartered Alibaba Pictures also said it would make Hong Kong its second headquarters. The film outfit will also fund scholarships for 20 filmmakers studying at the Hong Kong Baptist University Academy of Film.

Alibaba, China’s e-commerce and entertainment conglomerate, said Monday that it is committing Hk$5 billion ($640 million) over five years to the development of Hong Kong’s film and TV industries.

The move was announced on the first day of FilMart, the annual rights market for the Asian industries, at an event attended by Fan Luyuan, chairman and CEO of Alibaba’s digital media and entertainment unit, and Kevin Yeung, the Hong Kong government’s secretary for culture, sports and tourism.

Alibaba’s Hong Kong Cultural and Art Industry Revitalization Program “will focus on film production and distribution, rights acquisitions, TV series production, investments in concerts, collaboration with performance venues and talent development, etc. It will also work with leading local film and TV companies to co-produce films for cinemas, TV dramas and dramas for streaming platforms,” Yeung said.

He also expects Alibaba’s digital media unit to make Hong Kong its second headquarters.

According to Variety, British actor Jacob Scipio will reprise the role of the well-received Armando Aretas character, the estranged son of Will Smith's Miami-Dade police detective Mike Lowery. Armando first appeared in the last entry, 2020's Bad Boys for Life. The fourth movie also features Eric Dane, Paola Núnez, Vanessa Hudgens, and Alexander Ludwig. Adil El Arbi and Bilall Fallah are back to helm the film and will direct from a script penned by Chris Bremner. Jerry Bruckheimer, Doug Belgrad, and Smith, via his Westbrook banner, will again produce the feature. Scipio appeared in 2020’s “Bad Boys for Life,” the action film led by Smith and Martin Lawrence. Further plot details are currently under wraps.

The fourth film also features Paola Núnez, Vanessa Hudgens, Alexander Ludwig and “Euphoria’s” Eric Dane. The original “Bad Boys” earned $141 million at the global box office, while the 2003 sequel “Bad Boys II” totaled $273 million. “Bad Boys for Life” outgrossed its predecessors with a combined $426.5 million.
