The very patchy fourth series begins with a very good episode.

Stuck on Terminal, it's a fight for survival for the remaining Liberator crew.

I wonder how many fans thought that the show would have died when The Liberator exploded, I'm sure many were surprised to see it return.

I don't have a huge fondness for Series 4 as a whole, but this first episode is actually a really good one. I liked the feel of it, I liked the story, it very much felt like a restart.

I liked the new opening sequences, they are pretty smart, and a little different to what's gone before. It's definitely atmospheric, I love that snowy ground, and that thumping noise.

Once again, I think they decided to sex the show up a little bit, Soolin and Dorian are a particularly attractive duo.

A shame there's no more Cally, I don't think Chappell had the best of deals in Series two, but in Series three she had some great stories, Children of Auron, Sarcophagus and a few others, a real shame she moved on.

It's a good start, 8/10.

Trivia
The creature in the cave is actually a repainted Sea Devil costume left over from a 1972 Doctor Who (1963) serial.

Goofs
It becomes clear that Dorian went to the planet Terminal to get the Liberator crew under the guise of a rescue, so that they could be absorbed by the Gestalt creature. But there is no plausible way for Dorian or the creature to know that the Liberator crew were on Terminal, how many there were, or that they were stranded.
