A really good Thanksgiving episode, the best being the one with all the football, but this episode showcases what it feels like in your 20s when your blood family doesn't get together for the holidays and you bond with your friend family. One thing that has always annoyed me is the underlying feminism the lesbian characters incessantly play up, when we meet Susan Bunch, the overly obnoxious man-hating life partner of Ross' ex wife she greets him at the door and he asks if she has seen his skull that was left there by accident, she responds "what does it look like?" Ross explains it looks like "a head with the skin missing" and she retorts "I'm familiar with the concept" in a snide tone...like completely negating the fact she asked him to describe it. Anyway, I love Monica's story line this episode as the true matron of the group trying to appease everyone. Phoebe with the beginnings of her using her past experience with her mother to guilt the group into getting her way and Rachel's bratty struggle to choose a pampered life over hard work. Season one is so good any episode is a great place to start.
