Eva Longoria's John Wick involvement is a surprising but pivotal part of the iconic action franchise. Known for her work in Hollywood spanning the past few decades, Longoria has acted in, produced for, and directed countless films and television shows in the English and Spanish languages. Longoria is immediately recognizable for her acting in the award-winning comedy-drama Desperate Housewives, the well-established soap opera The Young and the Restless, and nostalgic films like The Heartbreak Kid (2007) and Over Her Dead Body (2008).
While many know Longoria from her acting achievements, she has just as much experience behind the scenes as she does out in the limelight. Longoria has directed major projects, from the 2023 biographical comedy Flamin' Hot to episodes of Blackish. She is also credited with producing several entertainment favorites, including the hit series Devious Maids, and more surprisingly, the first film in the billion-dollar John Wick franchise. While St. Denis Medicals blend of workplace comedy and medical drama might be a fresh new concept, the sitcom is full of familiar faces. NBCs new sitcom St. Denis Medical follows the staff of the eponymous hospital as they attempt to keep the struggling institution running smoothly. St. Denis Medical is a workplace mockumentary sitcom that takes the premise of Scrubs and brings the style of The Office and Abbott Elementary to the project. This results in a sitcom that feels both original and familiar at the same time thanks to St. Denis Medicals added medical drama.

Eva Longoria, one of the finest talents in all of Hollywood credited with bringing masterpieces like Desperate Housewives, Land of Women, and Dora and the Lost City of Gold to the table, is once again making headlines. As stunning as she is even at the age of 49, the actress-cum-producer-cum-director is gaining attention this time around over her personal views.
Apparently, recent reports had it that the Only Murders in the Building actress has reportedly left the country following the re-election of Republican candidate Donald Trump as the next president of the United States of America. These stemmed from the comments Longoria made herself about having moved her family out of the country, seeing it as a closed chapter of her life.

Sonic Youth will release a remixed and remastered LP of their final US performance, titled Live in Brooklyn 2011, on August 18th via Silver Current Records and digitally on Goofin’.
The 2xLP, 2xCD, or 2xTape collection follows a 2020 archival release that included the 2011 East River waterfront performance, or “The Last Show” as it came to be known by fans. Though the band subsequently toured South America before confirming their dissolution in November that year, the New York event served as a fitting conclusion with the group’s hometown connections and surprising, career-spanning set. Pre-orders are ongoing.

As reported by People, star Eva Longoria recently revealed that she still misses her Desperate Housewives character Gabby and would jump at the chance to revive the character in a reboot.
On Thursday's episode of Watch What Happens Live with Andy Cohen, Longoria (who played Gabrielle Solis on the hit 2000s series) said that she's probably the only one of her former castmates who'd jump at the chance to do a reboot of the series. Longoria said, "I think I'd be the only one to sign up."
The comedy-drama Desperate Housewives ran from 2004 to 2012 and followed the ups and downs in the lives of suburban neighbors living on Wisteria Lane. The Flamin' Hot director went on to tell host Andy Cohen that she was still attached to her Desperate Housewives character saying, "I miss Gabby."
When asked what she thought her character would be up to nowadays, Longoria said, "Gabby would be an influencer,...

ABC's successful and long-running series Desperate Housewives turned star Eva Longoria into a household name – understandably leading to substantial interest in what she has done since. Although the show ended in 2012, Desperate Housewives' success proved to be an invaluable platform for everyone associated with the show. In Longoria's case, this has led to a successful career in both the TV and movie industries, with an impressive resumé both in front of and behind the camera.
Partly as a result of her role as Gabrielle Solis, Longoria had a number of high-profile film and TV roles while Desperate Housewives was still on the air. These included leading parts in hit movies like Harsh Times, The Sentinel, and Over Her Dead Body, as well as small screen appearances on Saturday Night Live and in music videos for the likes of Jamie Foxx. Two long years after Netflix first dropped its “Tiger King” docuseries, the first scripted stab at retelling the wild story of warring big cat enthusiasts Joe Exotic and Carole Baskin has landed, as was inevitable. “Joe vs. Carole,” premiering March 3 on Peacock, stars John Cameron Mitchell and Kate McKinnon as Joe and Carole as they vow to take the other down. At this point — months after a Netflix follow-up to “Tiger King,” podcasts such as the one this series is based on (Wondery’s “Over My Dead Body”), and countless memes and late-night jokes later — anything purporting to shed more light on this particular saga has a high bar to clear in order to be anything less than repetitive. In this respect, “Joe vs. Carole,” despite some decent performances and effective directing from Justin Tipping, rarely justifies its existence.

Peacock’s new series “Joe vs Carole” may be looking to capitalize off the popularity of last year’s Netflix hit “Tiger King,” but John Cameron Mitchell, who plays Joe Exotic, said the docuseries was a hard watch for him.
“There’s something about (Joe) that I actually couldn’t really bear to watch the whole thing at first, because it was like, everyone’s behaving so badly,” Mitchell said in an interview with Entertainment Weekly. “The docuseries I found a bit sensational. It was certainly riveting, but it was docking. It wasn’t trying to go deep.”
“Joe vs Carole” is not directly adapting “Tiger King,” but rather the Wondery true-crime podcast series “Over My Dead Body,” which profiled Joe Exotic a year before “Tiger King” was released. These includes the likes of Wondery’s crime drama Over My Dead Body and cult drama Guru: The Dark Side of Enlightenment, paranormal series Welcome to Night Vale, Neil Strauss’ investigative series To Live and Die In LA, basketball cheat scandal Whistleblower, Australian crime series The Teacher’s Pet, ESPN’s 30 for 30 on Clippers owner Donald Sterling The Sterling Affairs,...

Amazon is in exclusive talks to acquire Wondery in a deal that values the podcaster at over $300 million, according to the Wall Street Journal, as the sector continues to be a hot one following SiriusXM buying Sticher, the New York Times acquiring Serial and Spotify absorbing Gimlet.
Four-year-old Wondery, whose popular podcasts include Dr. Death, Dirty John, Over My Dead Body, Business Wars and American History Storytellers. is one of the last big independents in the market with investors that include Waverley Capital, Lerer Hippeau Ventures, Greycroft Partners and Advancit Capital.
The talks could still fall apart, the WSJ said Wednesday, citing sources close to the situation.
Reps from West Hollywood-based Wondery and Amazon declined to to comment. Reports the company was for sale began circulating earlier this month. Apple and Sony are also said to have kicked the tires about a possible deal.

As part of our newly updated survey of the 500 Greatest Albums of All Time, we’re publishing a series of pieces on the making and impact of key records from the list. Drake’s Take Care came in at number 95.
So many artists have borrowed or copied the template of Drake’s Take Care that the boldness of the original is easily forgotten. Today, Take Care is like breathing — something we take for granted.

As Disney quietly disappears huge swathes of film history into its vaults, I'm going to spend 2020 celebrating Twentieth Century Fox and the Fox Film Corporation's films, what one might call their output if only someone were putting it out.And now they've quietly disappeared William Fox's name from the company: guilty by association with Rupert Murdoch, even though he never associated with him.***"Would you recognize Milton Berle without his mother? No!" So says the man himself, Milton Berle, in Over My Dead Body (1942), a fairly shoddy reminder that Berle was, for now-inexplicable reasons, a movie star in the early forties. But while some talent from radio and vaudeville slid into cinema with the ease of the proverbial buttered eel, Berle somehow got lodged halfway down cinema's throat, for reasons which may tell us something about classical Hollywood filmmaking, and something about this particular clown.Fox tested Berle on...

Given the popularity of the new Netflix Original documentary series Tiger King: Murder, Mayhem and Madness, it was just going to be a matter of time before the feud between big cat owners Carole Baskin and Joe Exotic was recreated as a movie or TV series. Now, it looks like that time will come even sooner than many of us may have thought, as TVLine reports that a limited series based on the well-publicized quarrel is currently in the works. In fact, the series has already found someone to portray Baskin in the series, as Saturday Night Live star Kate McKinnon is set to star as the Big Cat Rescue CEO.
This untitled Carole Baskin mini-series is in development from Universal Content Productions, but the project has not yet been attached to any particular network or streaming service. As the series has been in the works for months, it's not...

Between Don't F**k With Cats and Tiger King, cats are having a major true-crime docuseries moment on Netflix. The latter features the so-called "Mother Teresa of cats" herself, Carole Baskin, who runs the animal sanctuary Big Cat Rescue. It follows her long-time nemesis Joe Exotic (Joseph Maldonado-Passage), a zookeeping personality who was arrested in 2018 for plotting Baskin's murder. So what happened to Baskin after Maldonado-Passage's plans came crashing down? Very much alive, she continues what she's been doing since 1992 - running Big Cat Rescue and saving wild cats.
Who Is Carole Baskin?
According to the Big Cat Rescue website, Baskin is the founder and CEO of the Tampa animal sanctuary, switching from big-cat owner to conservationist in her early career. In its younger days, Baskin's sanctuary was full of breeding and tourism. In 1997, she stopped breeding altogether. She rebranded Big Cat Rescue in 2003 and asked that owners who left...

Remember the historic whiteout that hit Hollywood on Jan. 15, 2015?
We’re not talking about the weather, of course, but rather this year’s Oscar nominations — in which not a single person of color snagged one of the 20 major acting nominations.
Whether Academy insiders egregiously snubbed critical faves like Selma‘s David Oyelowo and Beyond the Lights‘ Gugu Mbatha-Raw — or if it was more a case of the film industry failing to deliver interesting, diverse roles/casting — the resulting public-relations black eye was definitely not the kind of color we’d been seeking.

★★☆☆☆ Joining the contemporary collective of female filmmakers laying in the wake of the multi-hyphenate works of Lena Dunham, American actress Lake Bell makes her directorial debut with In a World (2013), a project she also writes and stars in. Always the ditsy foil or sidelined supporting foil in bland romantic comedies, from No Strings Attached (2011) to Over Her Dead Body (2008), Bell makes a considerably notable change of career pace, penning a film that - at least attempts - to shed light on and examine the entrenched sexism and unwritten gender structures of a seemingly minuscule area of the entertainment industry.
