“Soldiers in Vietnam encountering dinosaurs… that hasn’t really been done.” That’s the premise behind the upcoming action/horror/sci-fi movie Primitive War, coming soon from writer/director Luke Sparke (Occupation Rainfall, Bring Him To Me). The film adapts author Ethan Pettus’ sci-fi military novel, and the first footage has arrived.

David Gray has returned with the announcement of his first new album since 2021, Dear Life, and a sprawling 2025 tour with dates across North America and the UK.

Due on January 17th via Gray’s independent label, Laugh A Minute Records/Secretly Distribution, Dear Life will include new songs about the ups and downs of the human experience. “A lot has happened to me,” Gray said in a statement. “There’s been change on so many levels, all the ups and downs and dramas and tragedies and joys that the slow movement through life brings. Sony has updated the Last Chance to Play section of its PlayStation Plus service, revealing several PS5 and PS4 titles leaving the subscription service, including many Final Fantasy titles. This is not unheard of with subscriptions such as Xbox Game Pass or PlayStation Plus, but this clear-out does seem to be larger than most, with 25 titles being removed.

As reported by Push Square, these titles will be removed from the Ps Plus Extra and Ps Plus Premium subscriptions on May 21, 2024. The complete list is as follows:

Producers of the upcoming musical comedy Ghost Of John McCain have responded to angry comments made by the late senator’s daughter Meghan McCain, saying that they will again extend an invitation to Meghan and husband Ben Domenech to attend a reading of the musical before it opens Off Broadway this fall.

“We think they will love it, just as audiences have to date,” said producers Jason Rose and Max Fose in a statement responding to tweets made by Meghan McCain earlier this week in which she called the musical – which she apparently has not seen – “trash” and “a gross cash grab by mediocre desperate people.”

The Listener has had a long and winding journey to its late March 2024 release. The movie, opening in theaters and available on video-on-demand tomorrow, is genuinely moving. Much of that credit should go to the director and actor, who seem in sync in tone and highlight an exploration of compassion and empathy.

Tessa Thompson delivers a terrific performance in The Listener, taking the viewer on a journey that’s fulfilling. Director Steve Buscemi coaxes out a cinematic experience that seems to aim to build a therapeutic rapport with its audience. This results in a “bottle” film with only one cast member, whom you can’t pull your eyes away from.

The quip in question seemingly referred to original 2004 “Mean Girls” star Lindsay Lohan as “fire crotch,” a callback to an infamous TMZ paparazzi video in which socialite Brandon Davis made comments about Lohan’s body.

In the new “Mean Girls,” rapper Megan Thee Stallion — playing herself — uses the term to reference Lohan. The scene comes in the final moments of the film during a prom sequence, where Stallion, tells the new Cady Heron (Angourie Rice; Lohan was the Og Cady): “We are going back red. Y2K fire crotch is back!”

The lead content editor of the popular broadcast publication TV NewsCheck says the company needs to raise hundreds of thousands of dollars to address a slowdown in advertising revenue before it can restart its news operations.

In a message posted to social media on Thursday, TV NewsCheck Editor Michael Depp said the outlet has been “inundated by phone calls, emails and text messages from broadcasters and readers in allied fields asking how they can help.”

The solution is simple: Depp says readers need to make a financial contribution to the platform in the form of an annual subscription to their premium product, Tvn Plus.

“At the risk of sounding like a telethon, we need 1,500 broadcasters to subscribe, today, to Tvn Plus,” Depp wrote. “For just $199 for an annual subscription, you will allow us to turn the lights back on as soon as next week.”

UK sales outfit Bankside Films has unveiled a first look image of Mala Emde in the role of Vera Brandes in Ido Fluk’s The Girl From Köln, as well as a slew of key deals on the film as the company heads into the European Film Market (EFM).
