Sakamoto Days anime aired the season finale last week, leaving fans divided. While some were content with the series, others were left disappointed. It wasn’t much of a finale as some pointed out. What we do know is that the first season remains a mxied bag for the most part.
Truly, it was a seesaw of expectations, and Tms fumbled majorly. From animation to visuals, it was pretty rustic compared to the manga’s well-detailed art. To add to that, the makers are returning with Cour 2 in July 2025, but it seems like the studio has a plan up its sleeve.

One of the great things about Crunchyroll is the incredible size of the streaming service's catalog. With so much anime to choose from, there's virtually something for everyone, including those searching for more mature content. As TV age ratings continue to evolve, sometimes even those with a TV-14 rating may have mature themes, visuals, language, and portray things like graphic violence, drug or alcohol use, and sexual content.
Maturity may also reflect deep or disturbing themes or messages that won't be found in anime more suitable to younger viewers. Deep dives into the systematic flaws in society and fighting inner-demons while searching for the meaning of life and staving off feelings of despair or emptiness just aren't going to make sense to a younger audience. Fortunately for the mature viewer, Crunchyroll has plenty of anime to satisfy those searching for a little more depth.

For many years now, the Kardashian-Jenner family has been slated for their seemingly unrealistic view of the world. All the sisters as well as their mothers are drowning in wealth, so it's easy for certain viewers to roll their eyes at their problems. As such, this one episode has the potential to completely alter how viewers perceive this iconic family.

Ted Bundy was never one to shy away from the spotlight. During the ten years he spent on death row, the convicted serial killer gave interviews with law enforcement officials hoping to push off execution and extend his own life. Investigators from all over the country travelled to a Florida state prison hoping to close cold cases that fit Bundy’s Mo.
Beginning in 1984, he formed a friendship of sorts with FBI profiler Bill Hagmaier who interviewed the notorious prisoner with the intention of gaining insight into the mind of a killer. But is it possible for a decent man to open his mind to extreme sadism and predation without awakening a darkness within his own soul?
In the latest episode of Bloody FM’s Murder Made Fiction podcast, Jenn and Joe conclude their series of Bundy-inspired texts with what is arguably the most successful depiction of the killer to date.

In January of this year something extraordinary happened. For the first time, United Artists’ Black Tuesday was shown on British television, having been originally banned for its violence. The film noir classic of 1954 stars Edward G. Robinson, one of the four giants of Hollywood’s gangster genre, alongside James Cagney, Humphrey Bogart and George Raft. At the time that Edward G. starred in Black Tuesday, he was in something of a career slump, but, in spite of his modest physical stature, he still manages to bring to bear his characteristically brutal persona. Perhaps even more surprising is how good the film is, a sort of forgotten masterpiece from the Argentinean helmer Hugo Fregonese who, in his time, had directed such stars as Gary Cooper, James Mason, Joel McCrea, Barbara Stanwyck, Robert Taylor, Lee Marvin and Stewart Granger, but who is largely forgotten today,...

The relationship between Fortnite and film is about to get even more intertwined thanks to a partnership formed by Snoop Dogg's Death Row Games and New Regency. Under their new deal, Death Row, through its Good Game Champ division, will be recreating the worlds of iconic films from the company's archives in the massively multiplayer game using the Unreal Editor for Fortnite (Uefn). It's a big opportunity for both parties to introduce a massive player base consisting of hundreds of millions of users to the unique worlds featured on the big screen in the past in a new, interactive way. Few are more excited about the collaboration than Snoop himself, who not only has high hopes that the plan will be a huge hit but has no shortage of faith in his son, Cordell Broadus, who is the current CEO of Death Row Games.

Hulu's preparing to spend some time behind the walls with a planned reboot of the hit series Prison Break. A new take on the show, this one from Elgin James, has just taken a major step forward toward becoming a reality.
Per Deadline, Hulu has officially ordered a pilot for the Prison Break reboot. Should the streamer be satisfied with the pilot, a series order will be next. The project comes from James, known for co-creating FX's Sons of Anarchy spinoff series, Mayans M.C., as well as the BBC/Prime Video series The Outlaws. The potential spinoff with James was first reported to be in early development last year, and finally getting its pilot order follows the original Prison Break recently getting a resurgence in viewership on Netflix after a 2-year hiatus on that platform.

In the mid-'80s, residents of Los Angeles and the San Francisco Bay Area found themselves in the grip of one of America’s most notorious serial killers: Richard Ramirez, a.k.a. The Night Stalker. Though his story has been told countless times over the years, Peacock looks to shed new light on his reign of terror with its latest true crime docuseries, Richard Ramirez: The Night Stalker Tapes, which promises to tell the killers' tale like never before.
Debuting today, Dec. 10 on Peacock, the two-part docuseries features 25 hours of audio recordings of Ramirez himself that were taken while he sat on death row awaiting his execution. The Night Stalker is credited with killing at least 14 people between April 1984 and August 1985, and was later sentenced to death in 1989. However, Ramirez died at Marin General Hospital in 2013 thanks to complications secondary to B-cell lymphoma while still going through the appeals process.

Sean ‘Diddy’ Combs and Suge Knight have always been like oil and water—each building their own empire, but never able to coexist without tension. Their feud became one of the most talked-about chapters in music history, with rumors of beef, and betrayal circulating for years.
Yet, as time passed, it seemed like the feud between these two giants might eventually fade into the background. But according to Cassie Ventura, one of Diddy’s former flames, the tension between these two powerhouses was far from over—even years later.

Death Row. The camera tracks across five barred cells, lingering close up on each of the inmates. The first, Selwyn (Don Blackman), a heavy set black man, sings the blues, the wooden stool on his lap a drum. The mob boss Vincent Canelli (Edward G. Robinson), armed robber Peter Manning (Peter Graves) and another all pace, like caged beasts. The final man, clutching the bars for dear life, screams, "Shut up, will you?"
Hard cut.
The hard cut is a masterstroke by director Hugo Fregonese. From the claustrophobic to the wide open shot, the gates of death row; from slim, ornamented a cappella to the crash of a dissonant orchestral chord, he makes you sit up in your seat and take notice. Then the credits roll.
It's Tuesday. Two of the convicts, Manning and Canelli, are about to be executed. Manning is offered a ten day stay of execution if he gives up.

Diddy, who was the owner of Bad Boy Records and worked with Biggie, has repeatedly denied his involvement in the feud. He said that he thought he and Death Row Records founder Suge Knight were friends until he was called out by Knight at an awards show.

Hit Fox drama Prison Break has enjoyed an unexpected climb of more than 100% on streaming platform Netflix, seven years after its divisive revival season. Debuting on Fox in 2005, the show starred Wentworth Miller as Michael Schofield, a young man who is deliberately imprisoned in order to break out his brother, Death Row inmate Lincoln Burrows (played by Dominic Purcell), before his execution for a crime he didn't commit. The show initially ran for four seasons consisting of 79 episodes, to largely positive acclaim, and concluded with the television movie Prison Break: The Final Break in 2009, before its controversial revival in 2017.
According to reports in Deadline, Prison Break has raced to the top spot of the Nielsen overall streaming list, after finding a new lease of life on Netflix. A successful run saw the series soar 111% from the previous week, after it landed on the streaming giant after seven years off the air.

It’s been over two years since we sadly lost Ray Liotta, but the iconic actor did leave a handful of unreleased projects behind, including 1992, an action-crime thriller in which he stars alongside Tyrese Gibson and Scott Eastwood. Lionsgate has released the first official trailer for 1992, which features an intense final performance from Liotta.
Tyrese Gibsons stars in 1992 as Mercer, a man desperately trying to rebuild his life and relationship with his son (Christopher A’mmanuel) amidst the turbulent 1992 L.A. uprising following the Rodney King verdict. Across town, another father and son (Ray Liotta & Scott Eastwood) put their own strained relationship to the test as they plot a dangerous heist to steal catalytic converters, which contain valuable platinum, from the factory where Mercer works. As tensions rise in Los Angeles and chaos erupts, both families reach their boiling points when they collide.

Attorney-turned-selling novelist Scott Turow made the cover of Time magazine the summer of 1990 describing him as the “Bard of the Litigious Age.” And 34 years later, the 75-year-old still is. Over the past four decades, Turow has written 13 works of fiction which have been translated into 40 languages and have sold more than 30 million copies. Several have been transformed into miniseries and TV movies.
In fact, Hollywood filmmakers were salivating in 1987 for the rights to Turow’s first novel, “Presumed Innocent,” a clever, sexy murder mystery with twists and turns that would baffle even Columbo, about a prosecutor accused of murdering the attractive colleague with whom he had been romantically involved “It began a sort of Hollywood frenzy,” Turow told me in a 1992 L.A. Times interview. “It was one weekend’s madness.” And for good reason, the novel spent 44 weeks on the New York Times best-seller list and another five months on the paperback charts.

Closer in tone to the sharp adult series “BoJack Horseman” than to Illumination’s bland “Sing” franchise, Netflix’s “Thelma the Unicorn” avoids being rendered completely unoriginal by its overly familiar premise thanks to consistent splashes of acid humor and a plethora of wacky supporting characters. Reimagined from the popular 2015 children’s book by Aaron Blabey, this bright-colored fable concerns a female pony chasing musical stardom disguised as a horned magical creature. But by changing her identity to chase those ambitions, Thelma betrays herself and those who truly know her.

Some of the best romances are unconventional ones between two artsy or peculiar people. TV characters who are their full authentic selves can be a bit eccentric. However, that means that they attract and keep people around them who truly understand and appreciate them.
Sitcoms and tongue-in-cheek dark fantasy TV shows are great settings for exploring odd characters. From strange royals loosely inspired by history to surprisingly altruistic civil servants, there is a match for every person. Sometimes two people with completely disparate personalities shock audiences when they get together, but they somehow make sense and excellent writing ultimately sells the romantic pairing.

What made the original television run of "The Twilight Zone" (from 1959-1964) so special was the way individual episodes could function on multiple levels. Since the show was an anthology, and every episode had its own premise, it was free to explore whatever it wanted to. The first level of a given episode was the superficially exciting one that put you in the shoes of a protagonist faced with an unnerving science-fiction premise. But the other level went deeper, studying human nature at extremes. Host and show creator Rod Serling would show up to deliver the moral, but the twists, unhappy endings, and central ironies continue to be surprising and disturbing.
The series typically explored prejudice in the form of racism or anti-intellectualism, or in one of its most famous episodes, the idea of beauty standards. But it also explored nostalgia, whether for a bygone way of life or for the one that got away.

However, Deadline says, “it is not expected to involve the characters who were at the center of the original series and its followups on Fox.” The original Prison Break debuted in 2005, following Michael Scofield (Wentworth Miller) and Lincoln Burrows (Dominic Purcell) as two brothers hatching a plan to escape Fox River State Penitentiary. With Lincoln heading for Death Row, it’s only a matter of time before push comes to shove, and the brothers must enact their plan or face the consequences of their actions.

Dark Sky Films gave the The Third Saturday in October slasher double feature a VOD and digital release back in May, and while we haven’t heard word of a Blu-ray or DVD release yet, the movies have made their way onto the Tubi streaming service… and soon, they’ll also be available on VHS! Which seems very fitting for a pair of movies that are meant to be throwbacks to decades gone by. In addition to the limited run VHS release, both original scores composed by WU10 will be available to stream on all major platforms starting this Friday, October 20th. You can listen to a couple sample tracks in the embeds at the bottom of this article.
Pre-orders of the VHS release can be made through the official website. You can get a standalone The Third Saturday in October VHS, a standalone The Third Saturday in October Part V VHS,...

Spanish star Miguel Ángel Silvestre is set to topline in miniseries “Lucio’s Treasure,” a real-life inspired project co-produced by Spain’s Vértice360 and Friki Films with Red Arrow International Studios.
Silvestre will play the leading role of Lucio Urtubia, considered a modern Robin Hood who nearly bankrupted Citibank of America in the 1980s. Whether he was caught is another matter.
Structured as a six-episode, one-hour drama, the series is scheduled to lens in English by 2025.
Created by brothers Hugo and Roger Menduiña, “Lucio’s Treasure” is produced by Friki’s CEO Ana Manresa and Alberto Rull, Vertice’s EVP production and content.
The U.K.’s Anthony Alleyne (“Sunburn”) has joined the series as co-creator, writer and executive co-producer.
Defined by Rull as “an ambitious series, both creatively and in terms of budget,” “Lucio’s Treasure” is set in Paris and New York, “aimed at being a world-class co-production...

Mike Henderson, a founding member of the bluegrass band the SteelDrivers and a frequent co-writer of Chris Stapleton’s, died Friday. He was 70. Henderson’s former bandmates in the SteelDrivers confirmed his death in a Facebook post.
“All the SteelDrivers, past and present, are in shock today as we have lost our original architect,” they wrote.
Henderson, a Missouri native, won a Grammy for Best Country Song for co-writing “Broken Halos” with Stapleton, his onetime bandmate in the SteelDrivers. In 2017, “Broken Halos” became Stapleton’s first Number One country hit,...

Welcome to the premiere episode of Doc Talk, our new podcast hosted by Oscar-winning writer-director John Ridley and Deadline’s documentary editor Matt Carey. We’re kicking off with a deep dive into a signature power of documentary: The capacity to right a grave wrong in the criminal justice system by freeing a wrongfully convicted prisoner. Only a handful of major nonfiction filmmakers has achieved this extraordinary feat, springing men and women who faced Death Row or life sentences.
We talk with Errol Morris (The Thin Blue Line), Joe Berlinger (the Paradise Lost trilogy), Amy Berg (The Case Against Adnan Syed and West of Memphis), and Deborah Esquenazi (Southwest of Salem: The Story of the San Antonio Four).
Morris shares his theory of why Randall Dale Adams — the man who almost certainly would have been put to death by the state of Texas if not for The Thin Blue Line — turned around and sued him.

Wonder Woman's traditional stereotype as a strong yet gracious warrior is not entirely accurate - she has always had a dark side. Wonder Woman is willing to kill villains if it means saving lives, as she believes it is her duty as a hero. While she believes in the rule of law, Wonder Woman has her own ways of permanently dealing with criminals who are too powerful for the justice system.
While Wonder Woman is commonly depicted as DC's hard-hitting warrior with an immaculate sense of compassion, there's a limit to the traditional wholesomeness she usually brings to a fight. After centuries of fighting on the frontline to protect the values of truth and justice, she's more than willing to end a fight — permanently.
The limits of Wonder Woman's tolerance are on display in Justice League #22 by Geoff Johns, Ivan Reis, Oclair Albert, Joe Prado, and Rod Reis, in which the Justice League,...
