Take two Jersey Shore veterans, add 20 single women and you have Double Shot at Love with DJ Pauly D & Vinny, a dating competition series just greenlighted at MTV. Said bachelors are Paul Delvecchio and Vinny Guaagnino, veterans of the original reality phenomenon and bromancers in current spinoff Jersey Shore Family Vacation.
Here’s how we play our game: Twenty eligibile ladies will face off against one another hoping to avoid the elimination ceremony, while the boys must compete for the affection of the contestants as well. As MTV notes: Pauly D continues to tour the world as a DJ while holding down a Las Vegas residency, but are any of the contestants ready to keep up with his luxurious lifestyle? Meanwhile, Vinny is ready to get back into a relationship, but will the Staten Island keto-guido find someone to take home for Sunday family dinner?
Are our heroes ready to find their perfect match?...

One of my fondest memories is interviewing Craig Zadan and Neil Meron while producing an honoree video reel that would play before they accepted the Vito Russo Award at the 23rd Annual GLAAD Media Awards in 2013. The interview poetically took place in the heart of the theater district at Sardi’s. Growing up as a gay man, I found community and solace in so many of the musicals that Zadan and Meron were behind so getting to sit down with the icons was a dream come true. The two recounted their favorite films and how they not only knocked down the closet door behind the scenes, but fearlessly included Lgbtq characters and storylines that reached countless audiences around the globe.
We didn’t have a presenter lined up yet to give the Vito Russo Award to Zadan and Meron when the interview took place, but Craig immediately told me not to worry.

Brad, now that Jen is planning her wedding with Justin Theroux, you need to make sure your own wedding with Angelina Jolie doesn’t overshadow hers. Don’t steal your ex-wife’s thunder!
Brad Pitt, it’s time to let your ex-wife, Jennifer Aniston, have her moment! Two separate reports claim that you are each planning your upcoming marriages in spring of 2013, but, Brad, after all you’ve put Jen through, you need to back off and let her have this moment to herself.
Brad Pitt Broke Jennifer Aniston’s Heart
Brad, when you left Jen for Angelina Jolie in 2005, you broke her heart! She very publicly struggled to find love again — meanwhile, you and Angelina were together instantly. She spent six whole years watching you and Angie raise six children together. Can you imagine how that must have made her feel?
Now, Jen’s finally found happiness with Justin Theroux.

It’s December, so if it means anything it’s that there are a slew of holiday-themed movies on our TVs this time of year. One of them, Lifetime’s Holly’s Holiday, comes to us from out director Jim Fall, who has brought us such fabulous films as Trick and Wedding Wars as well as Tori Spelling’s So NoTORIous series.
AfterElton sat down with the director to talk about how you put the gay in a Lifetime movie, his thoughts on the state of gay films and (gasp!) he spilled the beans to us about picking up with Christian Campbell and Jp Pitoc in a sequel to Trick.
AfterElton: Holiday films are so specific in a lot of ways but as a director do you approach them differently than you would another project?...

Craig Zadan and Neil Meron (l-r)
The busy producing team of Neil Meron and Craig Zadan got a little busier recently when the duo, who head up Storyline Entertainment, were tapped to produce a little show called the Academy Awards next spring and the recent announcement that Seth MacFarlane would host created a stir in the Hollywood community.
But creating a stir is what Meron and Zadan do best, with high profile projects in film (Chicago), television (Smash and Bette Midler’s Gypsy) and theater (How To Succeed In Business Without Really Trying). It’s no surprise then that this weekend at the Outfest Legacy Awards in Los Angeles, they’ll receive the Visionary Award from none other than Darren Criss, who is also performing at the event.

Jen & Justin may be getting hitched this weekend. Their pal just tweeted about their wedding menu! After falling in love on the set of Wanderlust, Jennifer Aniston and Justin Theroux are tying the knot... maybe even this weekend! "Is anybody getting the fish at Jen and Justin's wedding? I asked for the chicken, but maybe I'll switch. #conflicted," comedian (and friend of the couple) Michael Ian Black tweeted Aug. 24. Though Michael could have just been making a joke, it wouldn't surprise us if the Wanderlust co-star was invited to the intimate affair. Do You think Jen and Justin are getting married this weekend? While riding the subway the other day, I was seated next to a young girl, maybe 8 or 9 years old, and her father. "Twenty-eighth Street is next. And then 23rd. And then 18th," she told me. Apparently, even she could tell I wasn't a New Yorker.
Then, as the train came to a stop at the station (sure enough, 28th Street), her attention was drawn to a gay couple who boarded holding hands. She quieted.
"Do those men love each other?" she asked her father.
This could be interesting.
As I held my breath waiting for him to answer, I saw her eyes widen as she excitedly blurted out, "Like on Glee?!'"
He laughed. "Yes, like on Glee." She took another look at the pair and smiled.

Since our first edition was so popular, AfterElton.com now brings you Part 2 of “Hot Men of Fall TV”, where we take a look at a whole new crop of sexy actors from the upcoming fall season. This bunch is particularly “gay-friendly”, featuring as it does several actors who in many cases made their names portraying gay characters.
It bears mentioning again, however, that the network’s upcoming programs are sadly lacking when it comes to representing actors of color. In a television climate that’s seeing such great strides in the depiction of Glbt characters, we can only hope network executives won’t lose sight of the fact that boosting the number of racial minorities on the small screen remains an important goal.
Michael Arden, The Good Wife (CBS)
Before turning to TV and movies, openly gay actor Michael Arden was a successful Broadway star with a string of well-received performances under his belt.

Bouncing around in well-received guest roles since the end of "ER" in 2009, it looks like John Stamos will soon have a brand new, permanent TV home. And he'll be the series lead, to boot.
Deadline reports that Stamos is attached to star in "Dead Lawyers," a series pitch that was picked up by Sony following its failed development, eight years ago, for the Syfy channel. Stamos would play, according to the site, "a hotshot defense attorney is run over by a bus and finds himself in his own version of hell: a law firm on earth composed of other dead lawyers, all trying to right miscarriages of justice in order to redeem themselves."
Stamos has led a series before, though without much success; his "Jake In Progress," in which he played a New York publicist, lasted just one season, 2005-2006. He also featured as lead in "Thieves," which lasted just 10 episodes in 2001.

When former Showtime president Bob Greenblatt became chairman and president of programming of NBC, it seemed highly likely things would improve when it came to that network's Glbt visibility. After all, having the first out man as a broadcast network president would seem to indicate a certain level of acceptance for gay content.
Those hopes look to have been fulfilled this week as NBC announced their fall pickups which include the dramas Smash and Playboy. Smash, starring Debra Messing, is set in the Broadway world of New York, and includes the gay character of Tom (Christian Borle). Based on sides for the pilot, Tom is out and proud, and we even see him in bed with another man (who may or may not be bisexual). All in all, the show appears to have a great deal of promise and Tom looks set to get a decent amount of screentime.

Tonight features excellent TV for those of you who like Basketball, misery, or the WWE. For the rest of you, the television offers no respite from the many annoyances of Monday, like discovering that you forgot to set your alarm, that the shirt you wanted to wear needs to be washed, or that the large container of yogurt you bought so you could just put some in a little gladware container to take to work and cut down on the number of those stupid cups you throw away has fruit bits in it, which you hate. Ok, maybe that last one is a little bit specific to me, but you get my point. While I mentally reschedule the rest of my week around taking an extra five minutes to run my yogurt through a sieve before eating it (it's a texture thing, leave me alone) you can go ahead and...

It's always awesome to start the week with the return of the cold you thought you'd shaken the previous day, a cloudy sky that refuses to actually rain outside, and the knowledge of a dental appointment the next morning. Lately I've been seeing commercials for some of the new shows that are coming out this summer/next fall (never too early to start the ad campaign, right? Wrong.) and on one hand I'm excited that I'll have something new to write about for a brief shining moment before I reach the point that I don't have anything to say about it except "Hey, look, it's that shit again, some more." Also I'm having fun observing certain entertainment trends pass around from movies to television shows before everyone decides they're a bad idea and abandons them. Right now, we're in what I like to call the "Alien cycle" with the full on alien entries of "V" and the upcoming "Falling Lights" on TV as well as the possibly aliens but no one's really sure "The Event" which is still on for reasons I can't fathom. The wireless internet situation has turned me into something of a nomad. I wander downtown Austin seeking one of three things: free drinks, free food, or free wifi. Obviously there's wifi all over the convention center, but it's packed most of the time so I tend to seek out slightly less crowded places to sit my ass down and write. Today, I'm writing in the Sobe Lizard Lounge enjoying some damn thing or another that has a Sobe drink in it. After this I'm hunting down food. Here's your Monday night TV:

When ABC Family canceled lesbian-written, fat-positive show Huge earlier this week, it appeared that they might be getting a little less queer. But now Deadline.com is reporting that the network is working on a TV movie about Constance McMillen, who famously was not only disallowed from her high school prom for wanting to bring her girlfriend, but saw the entire dance canceled just to keep her away.
Deadline writes:
The project, in early stages of development, hails from Craig Zadan and Neil Meron and Sony Pictures TV who have optioned the rights to McMillen’s story. Ghost Whisperer creator/executive producer John Gray will write the script and is expected to direct.
They also note that the producers are openly gay and have won four GLAAD Media Awards for Serving in Silence: The Margarethe Cammermeyer Story, What Makes A Family and Wedding Wars.

Kudos to the producers for putting the master chefs through their paces with two of my favorite all-time Top Chef challenges, back-to-back. This week on Top Chef Masters ("Wedding Wars"), the eight semi-finalists gathered back in the Top Chef kitchen to discover that they wouldn't be able to glide through on their earlier wins this week. No, the producers were determined to get these chefs to experience the full pressure and heat of Top Chef by making them participate both in the tag-team cook-off and--shudder--wedding wars. As fans of Top Chef well know, wedding wars is one of the toughest and craziest challenges ever devised on the series as the chefs have limited resources and--even more critically--time to pull together an entire wedding reception (including cake!) on their own. Not only to do they have to get food out fast but it has to taste good, satisfy the 150 guests of the wedding,...
