The majority of the cast were scouted from the town of Margate, including some from a local secondary school.
On 30 September 2006 Antony Gormleys Waste Man was burned to the ground in front of an audience of thousands in the seaside town of Margate. Locals were all invited to attend the event at Dreamland Margate.
