The Diplomat director Shivam Nair shot to fame with the television serial Sea Hawks in the late 1990s. Like many directors who came from the small screen, including his close friends Neeraj Pandey, Sriram Raghavan, Imtiaz Ali, and Anurag Kashyap, Shivam took a while to make it to the big screen but has since made a distinct name for himself.

Ahista Ahista (2006) was his debut film, followed by the brilliant Maharathi (2008), produced by Paresh Rawal and based on a Gujarati play. The film did not perform well, primarily because it was released in the 26/11 week, and it took Shivam seven years to make his next, Bhaag Johnny, his first for T-Series.

Speaking to Subhash K Jha, director Shivam Nair discusses his new film, The Diplomat. He says he enjoyed working with star John Abraham and is very happy with the final film, plus so much more.

After a slow start, The Diplomat has gathered momentum over the weekend.

Sir, we tried to make an honest film. I enjoyed making the film. I have a gut feeling it will work. Slowly, it will reach the audiences; it’s my belief…. We are hoping for the success of the movie… which can help us to make such a movie in the future.

Don’t you think it was a mistake to release the film on Holi?

Sir, I know nothing about marketing strategies. I just made the film that I wanted to. The rest was left to the experts. All I know is that I made the story without compromises. I did not...

The global company Eros International is all set to release Jhoom Jhoom Productions and Soham Rockstar’s forthcoming musical love story ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’ on 8th January 2016.

The film has been produced by Deepak Mukur and is directed by the popular director duo of Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru. Together, they have previously directed the Salman Khan starrer ‘Lucky…No Time For Love’ as well as directing super hit music videos and chart topping songs from Dabangg, Dabangg 2 and Jai Ho.

The leading actors of ‘Sanam Teri Kasam’ are popular Telugu actor Harshvardhan Rane (he has given a number of Telugu hits such as ‘Takita Takita’, ‘Avunu’ and ‘Maaya’) and popular Pakistani actress Mawra Hocane who will be making her Bollywood debut with this film. Mawra is known for her hit Pakistani dramas such as ‘Ahista Ahista’, ‘Maryam’ and ‘Main Bushra’.

Eros International has tied up with Jhoom Jhoom Productions' and Soham Rockstar Entertainment for the release of an upcoming love story titled Sanam Teri Kasam. Produced by Deepak Mukut and directed by well-known director duo Radhika Rao and Vinay Sapru, the film stars newcomers Harshvardhan Rane and Pakistani actress Mawra Hocane in leading roles.
