Batman movies have The Joker, the Scream franchise has Ghostface, and documentaries have… Woody Allen?
The disgraced comedian and filmmaker was the subject of the 2021 HBO docuseries Allen v Farrow, which re-examined the 1992 criminal investigation that was launched in response to allegations that Allen molested his daughter, Dylan Farrow. Now Allen has popped up in another doc, and, yet again, his role is that of an antagonist.
Hitting theaters in the U.K. this week is Twiggy, a new documentary from director Sadie Frost all about English model and “‘60s fashion icon” Twiggy, aka Dame Lesley Lawson.
Of course, the film covers Twiggy’s 1967 trip to New York City when she was just 17. She was accompanied by her manager/boyfriend who was 10 years older, and who, according to The Guardian, “became an oppressive and unfaithful controlling figure.” But clearly whoever put together this cheery newsreel footage at the time seemed...

In "Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets" — the second movie in the Harry Potter film franchise — we first meet Lucius Malfoy, a rich and influential pureblood wizard played by Jason Isaacs. His first impression is, to put it lightly, not good. His son, Draco (Tom Felton), is Harry Potter's (Daniel Radcliffe) nemesis at Hogwarts School of Witchcraft and Wizardry, and when Lucius and Draco see Harry before the two young boys start their second year at the wizarding academy, they're both incredibly rude to Harry and the entire Weasley family. Isaacs reprises his role as Lucius several times throughout the "Harry Potter" franchise ... so how does he feel about his role?
During an appearance on BBC's "The One Show," per Variety, Isaacs said that he has slightly weird memories of the filmmaking experience, but also cherishes the fact that the "Harry Potter" movies are so important to so many people.

Jason Isaacs is best known for giving life to Lucius Malfoy in theHarry Potterfilm franchise, and has said something that will probably make you shed a few tears if you're a fan of the wizarding world. In the same spirit as his character in the movies, Isaacs is not exactly joyful when he reminisces about playing the character and says that the movies "weren’t that much fun to make."
Isaacs was featured on the BBC's talk show The One Show, where he spoke about his career. Having appeared films like The Patriot and TV shows like The Oa and, most recently, The White Lotus, he played the antagonist Lucius Malfoy in six of the eight Harry Potter movies. Lucius is the father of Draco Malfoy, Harry's enemy throughout his run at Hogwarts. Although Isaacs wasn't typecast for his role in the Harry Potter universe, it's undeniable that Malfoy...

If you were unaware, the 61-year-old White Lotus actor played Lucius Malfoy in the big-screen adaptations of Jk Rowling‘s popular children’s books.
The movies have left a lasting impact on a generation of fans, and Jason recognized that magic. However, he recently explained why they “weren’t that much fun to make.”

Jason shared his “terrible confession” during an appearance on BBC’s The One Show, via EW.
Why were they not fun? “It’s quite boring making big special effects films; however, the pleasures all come afterward,” he said, adding, “I see and meet people for whom their lives were changed by it, and still people reading it and sharing it with their children. Some people say their lives were saved by it, and I believe it.

The original Harry Potter film series was as magical as it gets, and part of the franchise's appeal rests on the chemistry of the actors. However, although the result was magical, filming it wasn't, per one franchise star.
Jason Isaacs, who played the villain Lucius Malfoy in the series starting with 2002's Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets until the final entry, 2011's Harry Potter and the Deathly Hallows — Part 2, has a different recollection. Although the actor has embraced the franchise's fans and always understands the level of fame the role got him, during an interview with BBC's The One Show, the actor looked back at filming the movies. He also revealed they weren't very "fun" to make, via Variety.

Jason Isaacs is currently earning raves for his spiraling performance on HBO’s “The White Lotus” Season 3, but to many fans around the world he’s still just Lucius Malfoy. Isaacs played the iconic “Harry Potter” villain in six movies, starting with 2002’s “Harry Potter and the Chamber of Secrets” and ending with 2011’s “Deathly Hallows – Part 2.” The actor recently appeared on BBC’s “The One Show” and looked back at his Potter tenure.

The Harry Potter franchise is one of the most beloved in modern pop culture, bringing J.K. Rowling’s wizarding world to life on the big screen. Spanning eight films, the saga follows the journey of the titular young wizard as he battles the dark forces of Lord Voldemort. Alongside the central trio of Harry, Ron, and Hermione, the films introduced a vast array of compelling characters, one of the most memorable being Lucius Malfoy, a high-ranking Death Eater and father to Draco Malfoy.
Portrayed by British actor Jason Isaacs, Lucius Malfoy was a cold, aristocratic villain, who had an unwavering loyalty to the Dark Lord, at least until fear took over. Isaacs’ portrayal of Malfoy made him one of the franchise’s standout antagonists. While fans continue to celebrate his performance, the actor himself recently made a surprising revelation...

Gregg Wallace has stepped aside as the host of BBC MasterChef amid an investigation into historical allegations of misconduct.
In a statement, MasterChef producer Banijay UK said it was launching the external review after complaints were made to the BBC this week about Wallace’s behavior.
BBC News has published allegations Wallace made “inappropriate sexual comments” on five shows across a 17-year period. One of 13 people who made the allegations included Kirsty Wark, the former BBC Newsnight presenter who was a Celebrity MasterChef contestant in 2011.
Wark said Wallace told stories and made jokes of a “sexualized nature” on at least two occasions in front of colleagues and contestants. “People were uncomfortable,” she said.
In a letter to BBC News, Wallace’s lawyers denied he engaged in behavior of a “sexually harassing nature.” His spokesperson declined to comment beyond the Banijay UK statement.

This past Friday, Starz kicked off the second half of the seventh season of Outlander, catching fans up with that Jamie and Claire Fraser (Sam Heughan and Caitriona Balfe) have been doing over the past year. They're back in Scotland, but it doesn't look like that will last long.

Heughan and Balfe appeared on The One Show where they were asked whether they might return for an Outlander movie down the line. “Yeah, I mean never say never, right?" Balfe said. In a delightful twist of Hollywood fate, Keanu Reeves recently addressed his long-rumored crush on Sandra Bullock during an appearance on The One Show. The nostalgia hit hard as they reminisced about their chemistry on the set of the 1994 classic Speed, where sparks flew—though neither actor seemed aware of it then.
As the conversation shifted towards Speed’s 30th anniversary, co-presenter Gabby Logan stirred the pot, bringing up the playful possibility that Reeves and Bullock had mutual crushes during filming. “Ohhhh yeah!” Reeves grinned, recalling their professional camaraderie. “We were very professional,” he added, a twinkle in his eye.

A fired BBC sports presenter has denied fresh claims that he sent a woman unsolicited inappropriate pictures while on overseas duty covering the football World Cup for the corporation.
Jermaine Jenas was a presenter of sports programs and magazine show The One Show until a fortnight ago, when the BBC fired him following claims he had sent inappropriate text messages to other members of the production team. Jenas apologised for his behaviour, but said he had done nothing illegal, and all the messages were consensual.
Saturday morning The Daily Mail newspaper reported another woman had met Jenas in December 2022 in Doha, during his time working there covering the World Cup.
The woman, a waitress and party planner, alleged the former football star pestered him for bikini pictures, and shared some alleged messages between the pair.

The BBC presenter fired this week has broken his silence to admit he sent “inappropriate messages” to two colleagues.
Former footballer Jermaine Jenas gave an interview to The Sun in which he said he was “ashamed” and “had let everybody down.”
He revealed he had sent messages to two female colleagues on the BBC’s daily evening magazine TV program The One Show, but said he done nothing illegal, that the messages were sent to “two consenting adults,” and that he was “not a sex pest.”
Following previous incidents in which the BBC had been criticised for not acting swiftly enough in dealing with claims made against some of their high-profile faces, the broadcaster terminated Jenas’s contract on Thursday, several weeks after the allegations came to light. No further details of Jenas’s departure have been revealed.

“The One Show” and “Match of the Day” presenter Jermaine Jenas is no longer employed by the BBC.
“We can confirm that he is no longer part of our presenting line up,” a BBC spokesperson told Variety after news broke in The Sun of his firing. Though the tabloid cited “inappropriate behavior” as the cause, the BBC did not provide a reason for his exit.
Meanwhile, BBC News cited sources who said his firing was due to “workplace conduct” and occurred after complaints were raised a few weeks ago. It appears that Jenas has also been removed from the website of his agency, Mc Saatchi.
In an interview on TalkSport as the news broke, Jenas said he couldn’t say too much but is “not happy about this situation. You know, I’m going to be speaking to my lawyers about it — that is all I can say right now.

If there is a television series out there synonymous with the word “Iconic,” it has to be Friends. While the comedy series was released all the way back in 1994, it has managed to pass the test of time and is as incredible today as it was decades ago. Whether it is Joey, Chandler, Ross, Pheobe, Monica, or Rachel, the six fictional people were more than just characters; they were our friends.

It’s not uncommon for films to have reshoots when the initial production wraps. Certain scenes would need more energy, more clarity, a better location, etc. However, it was recently reported that the John Wick spin-off, Ballerina, is being pushed back an entire year so that the film can undergo some big reshoots. After the massive success of John Wick: Chapter 4 brought the franchise into the billion-dollar club, Lionsgate is finding ways to continue the series with or without Keanu Reeves since Mr. Wick may or may not finally be at rest.
Ian McShane, who plays Winston in the films, recently appeared on BBC’s The One Show and spoke candidly about the studio bringing in Wick series director Chad Stahelski after they weren’t satisfied with the original cut. McShane says that the movie isn’t undergoing reshoots but having new shoots. He explains, “They’re new-shooting for Ballerina.

John Wick star Ian McShane offers a blunt explanation about the reason for the Ballerina spinoff movie’s recent delay. Set to star Ana de Armas as the titular dancer and assassin, the movie is not only set in the world established by Keanu Reeves’ John Wick movies, but will also feature several key characters, including McShane’s Winston Scott, owner of the New York Continental Hotel. Originally slated to be released in June this year, the Ballerina release date was recently pushed back to 2025 to allow for new action sequences to be added.
