Don't bother

An interesting concept that totally missed the mark. While science fiction does test the limits of logic and reason, this film is so badly beyond that it pushes one's tolerance of the genre.

In the end just a bad film and a wast of a few hours of your life that would be better spent elsewhere. From bad acting to a poor story line, there is little to redeem this film.

The cast, while including some talent, does not reach its potential and is overwhelmed by poor cheesy acting by the lesser known actors. Even the CGI is not of a high enough standard to make up for the poor acting.

For a movie made for television I guess it is passable, but I have a much higher standard in this day and age of CGI.

Mad scientists, wormholes, and brave government agents

The plot: A teleportation device opens up a wormhole over California, threatening to suck in our entire universe.

Termination Point is a stupid movie, but it's not boring. A good argument could also be made that it's a bad movie, but I was still able to watch it to the end. I think that counts for something. Anyone who watches a TV movie starring Jason Priestley and Lou Diamond Phillips probably knows exactly what he or she is walking into, so I probably don't need to give any warnings about quality.

Essentially, this is a cheap, poorly acted TV movie, and any attempt to make sense of it is doomed to failure. Luckily, the technobabble is kept a minimum, though some of the scenes are a bit too long. If you've got a degree of patience for that sort of thing (and you're forgiving of cheesy plots), you might be able to wrest some entertainment from this movie.

Talent wasted

So you are looking for a movie that will entertain you? Looking for something interesting and entertaining and captivating? Keep looking.

From bad writing, bad acting, bad special effects and an overall production that stinks as bad as my 3 day old socks.

Wow...what a way to spend a rainy day - wondering how long you can stay awake and still stay focused on such a lifeless and dull movie.

Time travel should be fun to watch, but in this script; it's not.

Need something to do on a dull dreary Sunday? Polish your silverware or build furniture from toothpicks.

What ever happened to crafty intelligent stories?

Cheesy little sci-fi movie

Here's an ultra low-budget sci-fi thriller starring a couple of past-it actors and a plot augmented by some decidedly cheesy special effects. The narrative kicks off with a passenger plane disappearing mid-flight, and it soon transpires that it's been sucked into a wormhole and now exists in some timeless limbo.

Of course, some nefarious government guys are the ones responsible, and the film incorporates B-movie favourite Lou Diamond Phillips (A BETTER WAY TO DIE) as the crazy scientist who thought up the time-travelling contraption in the first place. The good news is that there's a hero on the scene, played with a distinct lack of relish by former heart-throb Jason Priestley (BEVERLY HILLS 90210).

Priestley's role consists of running around and shooting various bad guys, although the less said about his emoting the better. Half the film is set on the plane, and these moments have some of the natural tension of a hostage drama, but said tension is dissipated by a series of excruciatingly awful special effects which look like they belong in a Nintendo video game mid-1990s. Still, I preferred TERMINATION POINT to the mindless disaster flicks these studios normally churn out; at least it's a little more inventive than them.

A movie taking us literally out of time and space

Seeing that this film was shot in British Columbia on the west coast of Canada and that's where Jason Priestley is from it seems as good a reason as any to shoot the thing. I'm betting Priestley was helping out the local film industry.

Priestley plays a government investigator trying to track down rogue scientist Lou Diamond Phillips who looks a bit Jerry Lewis in the Nutty Professor. He's developed a device that looks like a cellphone and it can take you out of time and space and put you between dimensions.

Which is what Phillips does when some military types send a couple of jet fighters to shoot the plane that he and Priestley's wife and daughter are on. The whole airline goes into a wormhole that threatens to destroy all life and the universe itself.

Usually these time travel films kind of fall short on recognized science and Termination Point is no exception. It's midpoint between a science fiction and a disaster film and doesn't succeed really as either.

Enjoyable SciFi

While not an epic film it was interesting.and kept my attention. The story is coherent with believable good guys and bad guys. Cheesy yes but entertaining with enough twists and turns to create mystery's to solve.

Nice movie for who get an idea of physics

Again one of the airplane adventure movies. It resembles the movies about "Oh, we're all gonna die if our hero guy can't save us!". It is again a fight between the good, bad, and ugly.

The scientific point used in the script is about Wormholes. So, if anyone says "Time travel should be fun but it is boring here", please go check what a WORMHOLE is. The wormhole is exactly seen in the movie. For those who like to have just fun but no education, please take a nap or do something else.

If you are interested in science - fiction a little bit, you may enjoy the movie. Otherwise, I can't guarantee that you will have a good time.

Better than many

It's certainly more entertaining and thought out than a lot of the sci-fi flicks that make it into theaters these days. It has a decent storyline and a proper sequence of events that's neither too complicated or confusing. Thus it doesn't require much thought, so it is like a light hearted sci-fi thriller. The acting was good, Jason Priestley does a very good job portraying his character, plus he looks good. The special effects were pretty amateur. You can tell that the helicopters are toys and all the lightening bolts are quite fake. However, that did not get in the way of enjoying the movie. It probably doesn't deserve the 7 I rated it but I wanted to almost neutralize all the terrible comments since there are far worse movies that make it to theaters which many people go see, and this one is actually pretty good. If someone wanted to watch it for the first time I'd probably see it with them again.

Great Story but B Grade in the delivery

Bad tech, bad acting, just plain bad. Budget was obviously too low for this ambitious project.

An afternoon Sci-Fi film

An afternoon film with a sci-fi feel to it. Unlike other afternoon films that are older these graphics are a little better, but they are not great as this is not a big budget production.

However, follow the storyline to see where it's going and what the outcome will be. Though it may not grip you, it is a decent enough movie to watch.

Maybe it will appeal more to Sci-Fi fans and dedicated films buffs; everyone else, I would say, may not like this film as much. Passable, yes, and a true afternoon movie and with a few twists and turns that I found interesting and should keep you interested long enough to see how the movie turns out.

Interesting Variation on a common theme.

There are some interesting twists in this variation of a time travel movie. While the detective/conspiracy/airplane disaster/mad scientist mishmash is distinctive, it jells better than one would expect. Strangely, the female leads are better actors than the male leads. The special effects aren't very special, but the movie keeps you entertained.

Once you see it you won't see it again

I am giving this movie a 6 out of 10 because the acting in the movie was good for a B movie plus there were quite a few veteran actors in this movie that still new how to act. The problem wasn't the acting it was when I saw a preview on the Sci-Fi channel where it was going to be shown this sat. So I went and acquired a copy too watch it so I don't have too get the butchered version from Sci-Fi.

The way I see it is that the movie was good the special effects they could of worked on a little more. The story was a little ruff but all in all it was definitely watchable. If you plan too see this wait for the sci-fi showing this sat for it and do not waste your money on buying it.

There is one other thing that was a little cheesy that I didn't care for I guess some of the stuff that was going too happen.
