On the Road movie reedited for Toronto screening Based on Jack Kerouac's '50s novel, Walter Salles' Otr adaptation starring Garrett Hedlund, Sam Riley, and Kristen Stewart (above photo) will be screened at the upcoming Toronto Film Festival. We all knew that. What we didn't know is that Tiff 2012 will unveil a new cut of the film (via indieWIRE), which premiered last spring at the Cannes Film Festival to mixed reviews. The 2hr20m drama has been downsized to approximately 125 minutes. That's an interesting development, as Otr has already been screened in several countries, with varying degrees of box-office success. [Check out the On the Road trailer. Check out Kristen Stewart On the Road poster; Garrett Hedlund On the Road poster.] Otr movie reedit hardly unique On the other hand, different cuts shown in different countries is hardly something new. Whether as a result of poor critical/box-office reception, (perceived) local sensibilities, and/or censorship, the movie you watch in, say, Canada isn't necessarily the exact same movie watched by someone in Singapore,...

As a shorts fanatic I get very excited about anthology films. These projects, like “Paris, Je T’aime” and “Four Rooms,” are great opportunities for multiple directors to work on the same theme and then bring it all together in a single collection. They don’t happen terribly often these days, probably because they’re hard to market well for the box office, but they’re often successful and always interesting. 2010’s “Love and Distrust,” while not a showpiece of famous directors, stars some pretty famous talent, including Robert Pattinson in the understated drama “The Summer House.” Set against the moon landing in 1969,…...

While Steve was busy snapping photos at the American Film Market (Afm), he grabbed a shot of a surprising poster for Love & Distrust. The film boasted a star-studded cast featuring Robert Pattinson, Robert Downey Jr., Sam Worthington, Amy Adams, and James Franco. Somehow, we had never reported on or even heard of this movie. Of course, there was the standard note in the corner about “Credits Not Contractual”. They may not be contractual, but they can certainly be misleading. Hit the jump to check out the poster, and to learn why you’ve probably never heard of this movie and why buyers should beware.
After doing a bit of research, I discovered that Love & Distrust is already available to own on DVD in UK. Here’s the official synopsis:
Featuring a host of Hollywood A-listers, including Robert Pattinson (The Twilight Saga, Remember Me), Sam Worthington (Avatar, Clash of the Titans), Robert Downey Jr. (Iron Man,...

Check out the trailer for the eagerly anticipated short "The Continuing and Lamentable Saga of the Suicide Brothers," starring Rupert Friend ("The Young Victoria"), Tom Mison and Keira Knightley ("Pirates of the Caribbean"). Arran Brownlee and Corran Brownlee direct from the writing by Mison and Friend. The fantasy is a sinister fairytale depicting the lives of two brothers and their daily suicide attempts. Employing a mesmerising mix of live action and CGI, directors The Brownlee Brothers have created an enchanting world, recalling the dynamic worlds of The Brothers Grimm or Hans Christian Anderson. This release comes after the July success of "The Summer House" starring Robert Pattinson that debuted at Number One on iTunes in total movie sales for the USA, UK, Canada, Germany and Ireland. The short will be released on Shorts International (www.ShortsInternational.com) on September 21st. Check out the site, it's pretty cool.

Watch Out, Kristen Stewart! Another Woman Is Saying That Rob Pattinson Is A Fabulous ‘Neck Nuzzler!’
Getty Images
R-Patz’s former co-star, Talulah Riley, admits the hunky Twilight star is pretty adept at cozying up to his co-stars. Should K-Stew be jealous?
Robert Pattinson is a man of many talents…and according to his The Summer House co-star, Talulah Riley, the 24-year-old Twilight actor has also mastered the art of cuddling.
“He’s a very good neck nuzzler,” the British actress said in an interview with Monsters and Critics while promoting The Summer House, the short film she appeared in with Rob in 2008. “I worked with Rob before Twilight. I’m very happy for his success. It couldn’t have happened to a nicer guy. He’s a lovely actor and a lovely friend.”
We’d expect nothing less than incredible neck nuzzling from Rob. After all, isn’t that supposed to be a vampire’s specialty?

Robert Pattinson’s 2008 short film, “The Summer House” dominated iTunes immediately following its recent release, topping movie sales charts in the U.S., Canada, Ireland, and Germany after a mere four hours. The July 13th iTunes release marked the first occasion on which the film had been distributed for mass consumption, having only been run on the festival circuit during the prior year.
The film is an adaptation of a coming-of-age story in which a teenage girl (Jane) summering at an aunt’s chateau in rural France discovers the complexity of romantic relationships—both those of certain family members, as well as her own. Rob plays the role of 18-year-old Richard, the love interest of Jane. Having broken up with her to date another woman prior to her departure for the summer, once dumped by the other, he appears unexpectedly at Jane’s retreat to win her back.

When it comes to the pre-twilight career of one Robert Pattinson, it’s difficult to picture anything beyond his work as Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter. But before he sparkled and was alternately dead and undead (and before he won the hearts of millions with his two iconic roles), Pattinson had amassed a small, interesting body of work – including the short film The Summer House. Filmed back in 2008, the short stars Pattinson and Talulah Riley (Pirate Radio) as a pair of star-crossed lovers in the swinging sixties.

Bright flashes greeted him at every turn. His face was the centerpiece of every magazine, and his name was a-tip every tongue in the free world. At twenty-three years old, DiCaprio had already earned one Academy Award nomination for his work with Johnny Depp and Juliette Lewis in What’s Eating Gilbert Grape? and had stunned his fair share of audiences with his brilliant portrayal of Jim Carroll in The Basketball Diaries. Some were hard-pressed to forget his name after his newcomer addition to the cast of Growing Pains back in 1991. In a strange twist of fate, Robert Pattinson has announced he will retire from acting following the fulfillment of his contract with Summit Entertainment and the completion of the Twilight Saga which will see the release of New Moon this November and Eclipse next June. When asked if he planned on returning for an adaptation of the fourth story in the famed Stephenie Meyer series, "Breaking Dawn," the actor said, "It will depend on the quality of the next two films and the demand of the Twilight fans." The first Twilight film, released in November 2008, put Pattinson on the map as the film garnered over $190 million domestically and over $375 worldwide. Although Pattinson had already starred as Cedric Diggory in Harry Potter and the Goblet of Fire it was Twilight and the conviction of its fanbase that propelled him to instant stardom.
