The teaser for The Life of Chuck has finally arrived. The feature, which is based on the Stephen King novella of the same name, is the latest King adaptation written and directed by Mike Flanagan, who also made Doctor Sleep and Gerald's Game. The upcoming The Life of Chuck, which is not a horror movie like Flanagan's previous adaptations, stars Tom Hiddleston in the title role as an ordinary man whose life is depicted in three parts, in reverse chronological order, beginning with his death. The cast also includes Chiwetel Ejiofor, Karen Gillan, Matthew Lillard, Harvey Guillén, and Mark Hamill.

Neon has now unveiled the first official teaser trailer for The Life of Chuck. The minute-long video opens with the sound of a clock ticking playing over a vast expanse of starry sky. The rhythm is then matched by other sounds from Chuck's (Tom Hiddleston) life, including a heart monitor and a blinking streetlight.

Over the course of a career that stretched back to 1967, Peter Jason racked up more than 270 screen acting credits, turning in performances that inspired legendary filmmaker John Carpenter to name him “one of the great character actors in cinema” – and to cast him in seven different projects: Prince of Darkness, They Live, Body Bags, In the Mouth of Madness, Village of the Damned, Escape from L.A., and Ghosts of Mars. We may have just gotten our first piece of X-Men casting as Jeff Sneider (via The Hot Mic podcast and his The InSneider newsletter) is reporting that Sadie Sink (Stranger Things; The Whale) is the current frontrunner to land the highly coveted role of Jean Grey in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with her possibly set to debut in 2026's Avengers: Doomsday.

Sneider stresses that it's still early in the process, so things could always change as casting ramps up for Doomsday and/or Secret Wars, but he's very confident in his source, so this could absolutely be our first glimpse at what Kevin Feige and company are cooking for their X-Men movie, and it looks like they're going younger for some of the key players.

The release date for Mike Flanagan’s highly-anticipated film adaptation of Stephen King’s The Life of Chuck short story has finally been announced. The movie will be led by Marvel vet Tom Hiddleston, who is playing the titular role of Charles Krantz.

Per ScreenRant, Neon will officially be releasing The Life of Chuck movie in theaters next spring on May 30, 2025. This comes after the film had its world premiere last September at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival, where it successfully won the People’s Choice Award. Since then, the film has received positive early reactions from critics. It currently holds a Tomatometer score of 85% on Rotten Tomatoes. The film will be debuting in the same month as other high-profile movies like Marvel Studios’ Thunderbolts*, Disney’s live-action Lilo & Stitch movie, Paramount Pictures’ Mission: Impossible - The Final Reckoning, and Sony Pictures’ Karate Kid: Legends.

Tony Todd, the prolific actor who brought an evil presence to the horror movie franchises Candyman and Final Destination, has died at the age of 69.

Todd’s rep confirmed the actor’s death to Variety, adding that he died Wednesday at his home in Marina Del Rey, California. No cause of death was provided.

One such incident came around the release of the 1978 film Halloween. Once it began to rack up box office numbers, everyone scrambled to put out their own slasher film, preferably built around a holiday. One of the headline stars of Top Gun: Maverick, Miles Teller, has paid tribute to one of the flight instructors who taught him the basics of flying a jet plane for the hit legacy sequel. Chuck Coleman was a pilot instructor who tragically passed away during an exhibition taking place in New Mexico called Las Cruces Air and Space Expo. You might have heard it – or not – but Hollywood actor Zachary Levi, probably best known for portraying the superhero Shazam in the Dceu, has recently endorsed GOP candidate Donald Trump in the upcoming election.

After some – obviously more relevant – celebrities, like Taylor Swift and Jennifer Lawrence, supported Kamala Harris, Levi has now joined a list of mostly controversial and not-so-relevant celebs who have supported Trump, including but not limited to Roseanne Barr, Russell Brand, Jim Caviezel, Kelsey Grammer, Rob Schneider, Jon Voight, and James Woods.

Coming off from the success of its world premiere at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival, Mike Flanagans latest Stephen King movie The Life of Chuck officially lands a distributor. The Tom Hiddleston-led movie recently won TIFFs Peoples Choice Award, where it competed against current Oscar frontrunners Emilia Prez and Anora.

Per Deadline, Neon has acquired the theatrical distribution rights to The Life of Chuck, based on Kings 2020 novella which was published as part of the If It Bleeds collection. Neon is reportedly targeting a 2025 release for the acclaimed genre-bending movie. Following its major win at TIFF, Flanagan expressed his gratitude for receiving such a huge honor, revealing that he is overwhelmed by "happiness and gratitude" over the unexpected news. "Im absolutely overwhelmed. Were so grateful that The Life of Chuck connected with audiences in such a powerful way, but never expected this."

Neon has given life to “Chuck.”

On Thursday, the indie distributor announced it had acquired Mike Flanagan’s “The Life of Chuck” with plans to debut it in theaters next summer.

The film, which is based on the novella by Stephen King, won this year’s People’s Choice Award at the Toronto International Film Festival

Variety first reported Neon’s acquisition plans, with Deadline quick to follow.

A recently released adaptation of one of famed horror author Stephen King's novellas may just be the project to break a disappointing 25-year-long streak for the writer. Since the publication of his 1974 novel, Carrie, Stephen King has been at the very center of horror writing. King's books and short stories have captured the minds of millions of readers, and unsurprisingly, a lot of these tales have been adapted to the screen. In fact, some of them have been adapted more than once. However, despite King's sterling reputation, not all of his adaptations have been wild successes.

Among King's catalog of over 70 novels and 200 short stories, some titles stand out more than others. For example, books like Misery, The Shining, and The Green Mile are likely familiar to most audiences.
