The teaser for The Life of Chuck has finally arrived. The feature, which is based on the Stephen King novella of the same name, is the latest King adaptation written and directed by Mike Flanagan, who also made Doctor Sleep and Gerald's Game. The upcoming The Life of Chuck, which is not a horror movie like Flanagan's previous adaptations, stars Tom Hiddleston in the title role as an ordinary man whose life is depicted in three parts, in reverse chronological order, beginning with his death. The cast also includes Chiwetel Ejiofor, Karen Gillan, Matthew Lillard, Harvey Guillén, and Mark Hamill.
Neon has now unveiled the first official teaser trailer for The Life of Chuck. The minute-long video opens with the sound of a clock ticking playing over a vast expanse of starry sky. The rhythm is then matched by other sounds from Chuck's (Tom Hiddleston) life, including a heart monitor and a blinking streetlight.

Over the course of a career that stretched back to 1967, Peter Jason racked up more than 270 screen acting credits, turning in performances that inspired legendary filmmaker John Carpenter to name him “one of the great character actors in cinema” – and to cast him in seven different projects: Prince of Darkness, They Live, Body Bags, In the Mouth of Madness, Village of the Damned, Escape from L.A., and Ghosts of Mars. Sadly, Carpenter has now had to take to social media to break the news to his fans and followers that Jason has passed away at the age of 80. Carpenter wrote, “His first movie was Howard Hawks’ Rio Lobo. He was a dear friend and I’ll miss him terribly.“
It is true that the 1970 film Rio Lobo was Jason’s first theatrical feature, but he already had three years of TV acting to his name at that point, with credits...

America as a democratic republic had a good run. But, as John Oliver pointed out in his triumphant return to The Daily Show Monday, it looks like a monarchy is on the orange-hued horizon.
Oliver appeared roughly 16 minutes into the Comedy Central show’s broadcast, which was hosted by Jon Stewart. “Are you here to offer America your wisdom and counsel?” Stewart asked. “Oh no, no, no, Jon,” Oliver replied, “I’m here to gloat.”

While horror is a genre mostly associated with the medium of film, horror television has produced some of the best work the genre has seen. Mike Flanagan's latest horror series, The Fall of the House of Usher, draws inspiration from another horror icon, Edgar Allan Poe, and incorporates many of his works into this series based around the same-titled story.
Starting with The Haunting of Hill House, adapted from the novel by Shirley Jackson, Flanagan pays respectful homage to the source material while adroitly infusing it with his sensibilities. Fans who enjoyed The Fall of the House of Usher series have plenty of options when looking for must-watch horror to add to their queue. They embody the same classic Gothic sensibilities, married to contemporary narratives and with strong creative forces behind the scenes.

Jeremy Allen White is attached to star in and executive produce a Netflix limited series adaptation of the André Aciman novel “Enigma Variations,” Variety has learned exclusively from sources.
The project is currently in development at the streamer. Should it move forward, this would be the second onscreen adaptation of one of Aciman’s novels. Previously, his novel “Call Me by Your Name” was turned into a critically-acclaimed film starring Timothée Chalamet and Armie Hammer with James Ivory writing and Luca Guadagnino directing. The film received four Oscar nominations upon its release, with Ivory winning for best adapted screenplay.
Amanda Kate Shuman is attached to serve as writer, executive producer, and showrunner on “Enigma Variations,” with Oliver Hermanus set to direct and executive produce. Aciman will executive produce along with White, with Media Res producing. Michael Ellenberg and Lindsey Springer will executive produce on behalf of Media Res.

There are a lot of people who want Star Trek to be Ricky and Morty, True Detective, or Stranger Things. They want this marvelous franchise to "expirament" in ways that don't help it grow. Time and time and time again we find out that the best Star Trek are the shows that stick to being Star Trek.
When Star Trek: Enterprise dropped the 'Star Trek' to just be Enterprise, fans weren't happy with it. When Star Trek's Discovery and Picard went super dark, fans were unhappy about it. When the franchise launched Lower Decks, fans weren't happy with it. Save for Discovery's later seasons and Picard's last season, none of those shows really trended well with the fandom or the casuals.
Yet, Star Trek: Strange New Worlds is a ratings hit. Why? Because it adhered to the old formula of Star Trek shows. Which is what Star Trek fans want.

One of the coolest and most beloved sub-genres for thriller, action, and drama fans is the spy genre, and there’s a good reason. In a spy film or series, we get complicated and cool characters who put their lives on the line by going against numerous people, and instead of always letting their guns talk, they use more covert tactics, which are always thrilling to watch. So, Prime Video being what it is, it has a large library of content, and also some of the best spy shows you can find, and that’s what inspired us to compile a list of the best spy shows you can watch on Prime Video right now.

An insider at The Hollywood Reporter, who I am suuuuure can be trusted 100%, recently informed the world that actor Zachary Levi was disappointed and “bitter” that he didn’t rise to Chris Evans or The Rock level of stardom after Shazam. Nobody can be sure if these were his true feelings, but to many, the science has been settled, and this is how he feels. So the dude became a Robert F Kennedy Jr. fan, which resulted in a Trump endorsement and running away from… or rather, escaping, LA. He now spends his time on a ranch in Texas, where, apparently, he is going to focus on making faith-based films. So, did they cancel Zachary Levi, or did they set him free?
As an actor, his silliness is always believable, especially when he pretty much plays himself, a lovable man-child who can do action scenes, like in the hilarious show Chuck.

Stephen King and Mike Flanagan's 2025 movie continues to receive more praise. Flanagan has adapted multiple King stories and is in the process of adapting more of the acclaimed author's works as well. King's 1992 novel Gerald's Game was adapted by Flanagan in 2017, with the movie's cast led by Carla Gugino and Bruce Greenwood. In 2019, Flanagan also helmed a film adaptation of Doctor Sleep, the sequel to King's iconic horror novel The Shining.
Since 2022, Flanagan has been confirmed to be developing a television series adaptation of Stephen King's Dark Tower. While there was a Dark Tower movie released in 2017, it was poorly received by critics and general audiences, leading to Flanagan working on developing a more faithful rendition of King's beloved book series. Flanagan is also developing an eight-episode miniseries adaptation of King's first published novel, Carrie, for Amazon. While there have been multiple movie adaptations of Carrie, this will be...

To me, my X-Men!
We may have just gotten our first piece of X-Men casting as Jeff Sneider (via The Hot Mic podcast and his The InSneider newsletter) is reporting that Sadie Sink (Stranger Things; The Whale) is the current frontrunner to land the highly coveted role of Jean Grey in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, with her possibly set to debut in 2026's Avengers: Doomsday.
Sneider stresses that it's still early in the process, so things could always change as casting ramps up for Doomsday and/or Secret Wars, but he's very confident in his source, so this could absolutely be our first glimpse at what Kevin Feige and company are cooking for their X-Men movie, and it looks like they're going younger for some of the key players.
While unconfirmed, it's likely The Russo Brothers are involved with this casting and they do have a pretty solid track record...

Writer-director Mike White returns to the opulent world of The White Lotus for season 3. Here’s the trailer for the new series.
Writer, actor, producer and director Mike White has one of the most eclectic filmographies in Hollywood, and now here he is steering a hugely successful TV project with The White Lotus.
Remember, though, his days as an indie darling in the late 1990s when he penned films like the terrific Chuck And Buck, The Good Girl and Orange County. Then there was Richard Linklater’s School Of Rock, before returning to smaller fare like Year Of The Dog and Brad’s Status. He then turned to television, scripting two series of Enlightened starring Laura Dern.
In 2021, White created what has become his most acclaimed work, the aforementioned The White Lotus, which has amassed a plethora of Emmys across its run so far, both for White’s writing and Jennifer Coolidge...

People don't talk much about "Terminator: The Sarah Connor Chronicles" these days. Maybe that's because it only lasted two seasons, the first of which was truncated to just nine episodes due to the 2007-2008 Writers Guild of America strike. Or maybe it was just an early sign of what later "Terminator" movies like "Salvation" and "Genisys" seemed to prove -- that in the wake of James Cameron leaving the franchise and the '80s aesthetic that once defined it dropping off, "Terminator" just wasn't that big of a hit anymore.
The shame, of course, is that "The Sarah Connor Chronicles" is actually pretty solid, unlike the aforementioned films. You'd think that after "Game of Thrones" made Lena Headey a global superstar, fans would be interested in going back and revisiting the high-concept sci-fi show she headlined just a few years before being cast as Cersei Lannister. Summer Glau also co-starred in the series,...

Wedding bells are stinging (sorry) in a new action comedy starring Anne Hathaway and Dave Bautista. Jonathan Tropper, who wrote 2014's This is Where I Leave You and The Adam Project in 2022 (and was the creator and showrunner of Banshee) is scripting the new film for Amazon MGM Studios and Agbo. In an exclusive Deadline report, the outlet says that the two stars have signed onto the project and will co-produce with each of their respective companies.
The story is based on a wild series of actual events where two FBI agents played a couple in order to infiltrate a criminal enterprise in, you guessed it, New Jersey. The sting operation came to a head at the couples' staged wedding, where the criminal bosses were arrested as they checked in for their table assignments. While it sounds like a plan slightly more sophisticated than a free boat giveaway that would nab Homer Simpson,...

Warning: Spoilers for Cross season 1 below!Cross season 1 proves how far former "Old Spice Guy" Isaiah Mustafa has come in his career. Dancing with the Stars kicked things off with the pros dancing to Beyonce’s “Crazy in Love.” This is the 500th episode of the iconic dancing competition show, so of course they had to do it big! And the celebrations didn’t stop there. But let’s not forget – as magical as the episode was, someone was still sent home at the end of it all.
ABC’s Dancing with the Stars skipped last week due to the U.S. presidential election, but it’s back tonight (Nov. 12) and ready to pick up where they left us. This week, to celebrate the show’s 500th episode, the performances were dances that are inspired by memorable dance numbers from previous seasons. But before we get the scores, here’s your one and only spoiler alert!

Last week, Dancing With The Stars was preempted for a second time in Season 33 this time for the 2024 election but the reality TV dance competition is making up for it with a "very special episode."
As we recently reported, last week's skipped episode happened to coincide with DWTS' 500th episode, so fans will be rewarded for their patience with an even livelier and more action-packed celebration.
In an October 31 press release, ABC listed off the show's accomplishments, and teased the upcoming episode:
"After 21 Emmys, 51 pros, 394 Stars, 32 winners and thousands of iconic performances, 'Dancing with the Stars' celebrates the milestone 500th episode for a night full of dazzling moves and star-studded moments."
DWTS' most recent milestone of the sort was its 400th episode, which aired on March 20, 2017.
That time around, it coincided with the premiere of Season 24, whereas the 500th episode fell near the end of Season 33 and during DWTS' 400th episode,...

I have very sad news to report tonight. It has been announced that Tony Todd has died at the age of 69. The legendary actor is best known for his roles in Candyman, Final Destination, Platoon, The Crow, Night of the Living Dead, and his many appearances in the Star Trek franchise. He was a massively talented actor whose incredible baritone voice made every project so much better. This is a huge blow.
Todd’s wife, Fatima, told THR that he died on Wednesday at his home in Marina del Rey after a long illness. New Line Cinema, the studio which produces the Final Destination franchise, wrote on Instagram: “The industry has lost a legend. We have lost a cherished friend. Rest in peace, Tony, -Your Final Destination Family.“

Matthew Lillard teases his part in Mike Flanagan's first non-horror work, The Life of Chuck. Adapted from Stephen King's 2020 novella If It Bleeds, The Life of Chuck stars Tom Hiddleston in the title role along with Mark Hamill, Chiwetel Ejiofor, Karen Gillan, and Jacob Tremblay. The film premiered at the Toronto International Film Festival on September 6 but has yet to receive a worldwide distribution date. Lillard plays a construction worker who finds peace amid the chaos in a world that is falling apart.
Lillard offers some insight to GamesRadar+ about his minor role. Though Gus only shows up for a five-minute scene, the actor finds the character "beautiful" because Gus "packs a whole fistful of humanity" during his limited appearance, teasing the character's ability to "shift the movie into an emotional place." But sadly, there won’t be a new episode tonight at 8 Pm.
Why is the episode taking a break and when can viewers see the next episode?
DWTS Season 33 Pauses For Election Day

Dancing With the Stars Season 33 has been one of the best seasons in years, so we’re excited to see where the hit competition series goes next.
After Jenn Tran and Sasha Farber were eliminated from the show last week, there was a sense that anyone could go next, and we have bad news if you’re expecting a new episode this evening.
The series is on a short-term hiatus.
Like most other networks, ABC will air election night coverage after voting closes.
This isn’t the first time the series has been put on hold this season, so we’re accustomed to schedule shakeups by this point in the show’s run.
The good news is that we already know when to expect the show to return, with Dancing With the Stars Season 33, Episode 8, set to air on Tuesday, November 12, 2024.

If Hollywood is good at anything, it’s seeing what hits big at the box office and then churning out a hundred clones of that product until it gets driven into the ground. We see it all the time. One such incident came around the release of the 1978 film Halloween. Once it began to rack up box office numbers, everyone scrambled to put out their own slasher film, preferably built around a holiday. This led to a glut of slasher films – which, if you’re a slasher fan like myself, was a fantastic time to be alive. Let’s look at the best Halloween rip-offs.
Offerings (1989)
Offerings might be the most egregious rip-off Halloween there could be. A young kid accidentally falls down a well while playing with a group of kids. Some of them scare him as he’s walking along the edge, and he hits his head.

As the shocking news of Brandon Barash’s Days of our Lives exit settles across Salem, here’s why his old stomping grounds of General Hospital should scoop him back up, and fast.
Barash’s History
Barash started out on daytime when he joined Gh in 2007 as Johnny, the son of Sonny’s (Maurice Benard) mob nemesis Anthony (Bruce Weitz) – or so they thought. After memorable relationships with characters like Lulu, Carly (Laura Wright), and Olivia (Lisa LoCicero) and finding out his actual parents were Gino (Joseph Sirola) and the woman he believed was his sister, he was sent to Pentonville after taking the fall for a crime Lulu committed, prompting Barash’s 2016 exit.
In 2019, Barash arrived in Salem when he took on the role of Stefan (previously played by the late Gh star Tyler Christopher). Barash joined a list of Days actors to play more than one character when...

Terminator: Sarah Connor Chronicles Creator Josh Friedman On James Cameron, Cancer, And Cancellation
Sarah Connor was dead. Or was she? Well, yes, according to 2003’s Terminator 3: Rise Of The Machines – but death can’t compete with TV. It was 2006 when Josh Friedman, who had co-written Steven Spielberg’s War Of The Worlds, was approached by Warner Bros. Television to write what would become The Sarah Connor Chronicles. A series picking up from where James Cameron’s Terminator 2: Judgment Day left off, it followed Sarah (Lena Headey) and her prodigious son John (Thomas Dekker) as they, along with Cameron (Summer Glau), a protector Terminator, continued to battle Skynet and evade murderous cyborg stalkers. Launching in January 2008, it enjoyed two seasons until it was, in April 2009, abruptly… well, terminated.
Fifteen years on, we speak to Friedman about legacy, cancer, and Shirley Manson disguised as a urinal.

Superhero movies cost a lot to make. Primarily due to CGI, action, and, as it turns out the costumes. There’s a fine balance between being functional, comic-accurate, and realistic, and the superhero suits have really evolved since their humble beginnings.
This is something we discussed recently. As it turns out one of the Wolverine suits in ‘Deadpool & Wolverine’ that is seen only briefly cost $100K to make.
Dean: One of our storyboard artists was a huge comic book fan and he gave us a list of, like, ten of them. There was also, and maybe no on really likes to hear this, time and budget issues you have to deal with as well. Here’s a perfect example: the brown and tan, we spent around $100,000 building that suit.
It was eventually explained why it cost so much to make. Apparently, it’s been hand-crafted to fit Hugh Jackman:

ESPN’s Chris Fowler may find himself in an unusual position when he’s in the middle of calling one of the college football games slated for broadcast on ABC or ESPN. He may look up at a monitor during a commercial break and see himself talking to millions of viewers — even though the network is showing nothing but ads.
That’s because Fowler, well known to sports fans thanks to years of calling ABC’s Saturday-night college football games and hosting ESPN’s long-running “College GameDay,” is an integral part of a new ad campaign from Heineken’s Dos Equis that seeks to make the beer a critical part of the game experience. In addition to commercials that feature Fowler acting as a coach, Dos Equis has been running a sweepstakes that could reward contestants when teams “go for dos” and attempt a two-point conversion.

Peacock's Teacup is a gripping character-driven horror series primarily held together by the performances of its talented cast members. Inspired by Robert R. McCammon's book Stringer, Teacup unfolds on a ranch in rural Georgia. In its eight-episode runtime, it walks through how its characters find themselves facing a mysterious threat that disrupts their seemingly idyllic lives. Although Teacup adopts a slow-burn approach in its early episodes, it reels viewers in by creating an immersive experience with its harrowing atmosphere and claustrophobic setting.
Through its character beats, Teacup also prompts viewers to become armchair detectives and solve its underlying mysteries with the main characters. Since Teacup's characters play a crucial role in gradually raising the intensity of its terrors and drama, the performances of its cast members are instrumental to its story's emotional impact. Owing to this, many viewers might wonder who plays whom in Teacup after watching the show.

Actors often long for the one big role that propels them into superstardom, and, as it turns out, Zachary Levi hoped it would be Shazam! The actor, who endeared himself to nerds everywhere by playing Chuck Bartowski on the cult action-comedy series Chuck, wanted to transition to big screen projects that would likely lead to even bigger big screen projects, and it appeared he was on his way. After appearing in Thor: The Dark World and Thor: Ragnarok, he got to headline the Dceu's Shazam!, a film that was well received and garnered a decent box office. However, despite the film's success, Levi didn't ascend to the next level, and it appears the next level for the actor was to be like Captain America himself, Chris Evans.
According to The Hollywood Reporter, which details the actor's recent endorsement of Donald Trump for President, details of Levi's career and his desire...

While still waiting for Mike Flanagans The Life of Chuck movie to hit theaters in summer 2025, the horror auteur has a new horror film available on streaming, V/H/S/Beyond, to watch in the meantime. Flanagan has directed and written some of the most popular and critically adored horror series and movies of the past decade, with hits like The Haunting of Hill House, Midnight Mass, Hush, and Geralds Game standing out among his work. Therefore, its no surprise that his adaptation of Stephen Kings The Life of Chuck story is among the most anticipated upcoming film releases.

Yvonne Strahovski and Scott Speedman are a married couple whose troubled family life becomes all the more harrowing when faced with a mysterious threat in Teacup. You might have heard it – or not – but Hollywood actor Zachary Levi, probably best known for portraying the superhero Shazam in the Dceu, has recently endorsed GOP candidate Donald Trump in the upcoming election.
After some – obviously more relevant – celebrities, like Taylor Swift and Jennifer Lawrence, supported Kamala Harris, Levi has now joined a list of mostly controversial and not-so-relevant celebs who have supported Trump, including but not limited to Roseanne Barr, Russell Brand, Jim Caviezel, Kelsey Grammer, Rob Schneider, Jon Voight, and James Woods.
And while Levi said that he initially endorsed Robert F. Kennedy Jr., who recently withdrew from the elections and told the people to vote for Trump, now that Rfk Jr. is out, Levi – naturally(?) – joined Trump’s campaign as a celebrity endorser.

Coming off from the success of its world premiere at the 2024 Toronto International Film Festival, Mike Flanagans latest Stephen King movie The Life of Chuck officially lands a distributor. The Tom Hiddleston-led movie recently won TIFFs Peoples Choice Award, where it competed against current Oscar frontrunners Emilia Prez and Anora.

A recently released adaptation of one of famed horror author Stephen King's novellas may just be the project to break a disappointing 25-year-long streak for the writer. Since the publication of his 1974 novel, Carrie, Stephen King has been at the very center of horror writing. King's books and short stories have captured the minds of millions of readers, and unsurprisingly, a lot of these tales have been adapted to the screen. In fact, some of them have been adapted more than once. However, despite King's sterling reputation, not all of his adaptations have been wild successes.
Among King's catalog of over 70 novels and 200 short stories, some titles stand out more than others. For example, books like Misery, The Shining, and The Green Mile are likely familiar to most audiences. This is because these King stories were adapted into incredible movie adaptations, becoming so well-received that they were nominated for the highest accolades in Hollywood.
