Exclusive: Bill Kaulitz has swapped the concert stage for the big screen by landing his first film role.
The Tokio Hotel frontman, whose band is among Germany’s most successful music acts, has landed a role in Brute 1986, an indie pic inspired by 1980s slasher movies.
In the film, Leather Kobra, a Sunset Strip-style glam metal band films a music video in an abandoned Western town in the middle of nowhere. Ignoring ‘no trespassing’ signs, the rebellious group have no idea they are being watched by the Birdy family, who will meet them with a “level of brutality that is as vicious as it is creative,” according to producers.
Starring alongside Kaulitz are Gigi Gustin (Stiletto), Sarah French (Blind), Pancho Moler (3 From Hell), Lew Temple (The Devil’s Rejects), Heather Grace Hancock (Wicked City) and Dazelle Yvette (Garden of Eden).

NBC will air a special edition of “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” after a November edition of “Sunday Night Football” next month.

The last of TV’s big five-original-nights-a-week late-night show is giving up 24 hours out of its schedule.
NBC will move “The Tonight Show Starring Jimmy Fallon” to four nights a week, the latest in a series of moves across the late-night daypart aimed at shoring up the economics of the programs as audiences move away from watching TV in linear fashion. Like its late-night rivals, “Tonight” will air in repeats on Fridays.
CBS’ “The Late Show with Stephen Colbert,” ABC’s “Jimmy Kimmel Live,” NBC’s “Late Night with Seth Meyers” and Comedy Central’s “The Daily Show” are already on a four-originals-per-week schedule.
NBC has been examining costs in late-night in recent months. Earlier this year, the network decided to eliminate the house band from Meyers’ 12:35 a.m. hour, a move that recently went into effect. But all of the networks have tested similar maneuvers in recent years.

For the first few decades of Saturday Night Live, breaking out on the show was a ticket to movie stardom for comics like John Belushi, Eddie Murphy, Mike Myers and Will Ferrell. In the 2000s, the path led to Emmy Award-winning comedies for Tina Fey, Amy Poehler and Andy Samberg. In recent years, however, the big reward for a long run on SNL seems to be a job as a game show host.
That payoff isn't quite the same as becoming one of the world's biggest movie stars, but here are seven SNL cast members who got to host quiz shows as a consolation prize…

Steve Harvey caught a lot of crap from other comedians when he agreed to take over as the host of Family Feud. “You would not believe the calls I was getting from guys that I knew,” Harvey told Variety. “’Steve, you’re doing a game show, man? Who’s laughing now? While Harvey might have been one of the first big-name comics of his generation to take on a game show, plenty of others have jumped on board since. Those of us who grew up with “Sesame Street” still remember Guy Smiley, the stereotypical game show host as originally voiced by Jim Henson. Guy was loud, boisterous and the host of everything from “Here Is Your Life” and “Beat the Time” to “Name That Sound!”

It was a very specific group: Bob Barker, Monty Hall, Jack Berry, Bill Cullen, Wink Martindale, Bob Eubanks, Richard Dawson, Gene Rayburn, Alex Trebek and many more. Jimmy Fallon has renewed his deal with NBCUniversal, holding onto his position as the host of “The Tonight Show” through 2028.
The extension comes just after Fallon’s 10-year anniversary on the show, which NBC celebrated with a two-hour primetime special on May 14.
Fallon has been an NBC mainstay since 1998, when he joined the cast of “Saturday Night Live.” He remained on the late night sketch show for six seasons, hosting “Weekend Update” alongside Tina Fey from 2000 to 2004, at which point he left the show to pursue a film career. He returned to the network in 2009, succeeding Conan O’Brien as the host of “Late Night” until 2014 before moving to “The Tonight Show,” succeeding Jay Leno.
Also on NBC, Fallon hosts the game show “That’s My Jam” and executive produces and serves as a panelist on “Password,” hosted by Keke Palmer.

Jimmy Fallon is sticking around 30 Rock.
Fallon has extended his deal with NBC to continue hosting The Tonight Show through 2028.
His current deal, that he signed in 2021, is thought to run through 2026, giving him at least another two years. Fallon, who earlier this year celebrated his tenth anniversary, recently told Deadline that he wanted to break Johnny Carson’s record on The Tonight Show. Carson did 30 years.
The move also lined up Fallon’s contract with the recent deal with his late-night peer Seth Meyers, who struck a deal to keep hosting Late Night, through 2028.
Fallon is deep in business with the company; he also hosts musical game show That’s My Jam, which has been delayed to 2025, and is an exec producer and panelist on Password. Deadline understands that Fallon is also working on a number of other TV projects for the network.

NBC is setting up another reality summer.
The network has unveiled premiere dates for its summer slate including America’s Got Talent, American Ninja Warrior, Password, The Wall and Weakest Link.

In terms of That’s My Jam, Deadline revealed that production had been paused in February, understood to be for celebrity scheduling reasons.

Exclusive: That’s My Jam, Jimmy Fallon’s music-themed game show, may take slightly longer to return to screens than previously planned.
The NBC show was set to start production on its third season imminently but Deadline understands that it has now been paused.
The reason, we hear, is scheduling, largely as a result of the vast number of celebrities that are required to film each episode. For instance, each episode features two teams of two celebrities competing in a series of music, dance and trivia-based games and musical performances.
This has included the likes of Ariana Grande and Blake Shelton competing against Kelly Clarkson and John Legend and Kenan Thompson and Big Boi versus Kesha and Renée Elise Goldberry.
Given that the show films up to a dozen episode across a small number of days, this can be somewhat of a challenge.

Sarah Silverman is taking a new swing at David Letterman’s fondly recalled “Stupid Pet Tricks,” and it would be easy to say something about the comic “going to the dogs” or “hoping the new show has legs.” But Silverman has a lot more in store than skateboarding canines and bubble-popping reptiles.
That’s right, this isn’t your dad’s “Stupid Pet Tricks.”
“The stupid pet tricks happen in front of the camera,” says Silverman during a recent interview, but “we wanted to make it kind of a ‘Muppet Show’ where you see behind the scenes.” Every episode has a storyline that might involve a writers’ room with just one human, or Jack McBrayer as a rival host with his own animal program. Will Ferrell, Jon Hamm, Reggie Watts and Judd Apatow are among the other guests who take on roles within the program. Even Letterman makes an appearance.

NBC has set premiere dates for the early part of 2024, and the network will roll out several of its biggest scripted shows a few weeks ahead of its rivals.
With production ramping up following the end of the SAG-AFTRA strike, NBC will have a fairly tight turnaround between the start of filming and the returns of several of its shows. Second-year comedy Night Court — which continued production after season one wrapped last spring and did some filming before writers went on strike in May — and new series Extended Family (which filmed off-cycle and has a full season finished) will premiere Dec. 23 following a Saturday afternoon NFL game, then move into their regular homes starting Jan. 2. That’s more than a month earlier than the announced return of any scripted series on other broadcasters; ABC’s comedies The Conners, Not Dead Yet and Abbott Elementary are set to premiere on Feb.

NBC fan favorites such as “Law and Order,” “Night Court” and the “Chicago” universe will officially be debuting new seasons in January. The broadcast network confirmed these series’ return dates as part of its midseason schedule on Monday, which also includes twists on established unscripted shows and the premiere of the John Cryer comedy “Extended Family.”
New Year’s Day will mark the premiere of a new twist on “America’s Got Talent,” titled “Fantasy League.” Similar to a fantasy sports draft, judges will select their roster of their favorites from a collection of past winners, finalists, fan favorites and viral sensations.
That will be followed by episodes of both Season 2 of “Night Court” and the new John Cryer, Donald Faison and Abigail Spencer comedy “Extended Family.” Though these comedies officially return on Dec. 23, they will settle into their time periods on Jan. 2.

NBC, the only broadcast network to have original, homegrown scripted series on the fall schedule with The Irrational and Found, will also launch most of its strike-impacted scripted slate the fastest.
The network has announced its midseason premiere dates, which include mid-January returns for Wolf Entertainment’s three One Chicago and three Law & Order dramas on Wednesday and Thursday, respectively.
That is a month before dramas on the other major broadcast networks are set to return with new episodes and a couple of weeks before any scripted series elsewhere come back. It is a testament to the well oiled machine that Wolf Entertainment is. As Deadline has reported, the company is capable to start delivering new episodes after as little as two months if starting from scratch with no banked scripts.

For the first time since the category was introduced in 1974, the Emmy for outstanding game show will be handed out at the primetime ceremony, having graduated from the daytime counterpart as part of a realignment of categories between the National Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (which presents the daytime awards) and the Academy of Television Arts and Sciences (which distributes the primetime awards). The syndicated hits Family Feud, Jeopardy! and Wheel of Fortune will face off against NBC’s That’s My Jam and CBS’ The Price Is Right.
Awards prognosticators can turn to the history of the category to assess which competitive show could take home the inaugural primetime prize. Jeopardy! holds the records for the most wins (18) and the most nominations (38) and has won for best game show in the past three years. It also notably earned the most noms for a game show this season, with Mayim Bialik...

When he woke up to the Emmy nominations on July 12, Mike Yurchuk wasn’t necessarily shocked to see the musical comedy game show he executive produces along with Jimmy Fallon and Jim Juvonen, “That’s My Jam,” nominated for Best Game Show. As he points out, “There were 25 eligible contenders in the category, so we had a 20 percent chance.” It was when he saw his four fellow nominees that the enormity of what his show had accomplished in its second season became clear. “We’re in the same category with ‘The Price is Right,’ ‘Jeopardy!’, ‘Wheel of Fortune’ and ‘Family Feud,” he marvels. “It’s like all of these legacy shows. It’s the best game shows of all times – and us. I feel like we’re the Bad News Bears of our category. We’re up against shows that all originated between 1956 and ’76. We came on in 2021. So we’re...

After nearly five decades of being a Daytime Emmys staple, the TV academy’s Best Game Show prize will instead be bestowed at their Creative Arts Awards ceremony from this year on. According to Gold Derby’s odds, “Jeopardy” is heavily favored to achieve its 20th victory in the migrated category, which would also be its fourth consecutive one and second for a season not hosted by former series mainstay Alex Trebek. In the two years since they jointly replaced the deceased quizmaster, Mayim Bialik and Ken Jennings have kept the show running smoothly and retained its millions of viewers.
As has been the case every year since 2013, “Jeopardy” is vying for this award against “The Price is Right,” which is seeking its ninth win after last prevailing in 2018. The two game genre giants also face past victors “Family Feud” and “Wheel of Fortune,” with the only non-repeat contender in...
