My Story

Bravery ... this is the synonym for this Czech film inspired by real story about power of successful women in fight with tyranny and home abuse from her love. Taboo of many women is spoken by Elizabeth performed by Vlastina Svatkova in life role. Elizabeth emotions are more than well played and looks like that Vlastina sometimes open her hearth full of unpleasant memories. Other roles are cast by more than senior Czech actors Vilma Cibulkova, Pavel Kriz, Milan Knazko, Tereza Kostkova, Zuzana Norisova, Sasa Rasilov and others...

Pavel Kríz as new Eli love step above his shadow from Basnici series and performed with elegancy and fresh energy in this low cost film.

Only question is category of Muj pribeh. Drama, Romance, Thriller... film change genre in 90 minutes more than one.

Debut ... for directors duo Libor Adam and Hana Hendrychova is visible in first half of film, when story is telling by series of dialogs in fast sequence. Second half slow down a little bit when group of friends of Eli stared the way of healing soul by coffee sessions. This part is full of jokes and give hope to audience.

Respect ... to Lukas Hendrych, who has talent for storytelling and eye for detail. In limited space he is able to find attractive angle and with Peter Malasek who composed music, shifted Muj pribeh above Czech average. Film is more than television love-story.

Personally I really like some scenes like dancing performance on roof, which made me breathless. I hope that more girl and women will start to fight with tyranny and find necessary power to move on.

Finally, this film opened up the problem of domestic violence. A problem that requires social debate. The film showed how it can be lifted from the bottom without psychiatrists and psychologists. It will certainly appeal to a number of victims of this violence and give them the power to solve this problem and not suffer from seclusion. Thanks to the filmmakers for a great job. I recommend watching this film.

But movie ended too fast. Seemed like they just found out that movie is long enough.

Love can hurt, and when it does it can hurt a lot, maybe even kill.

I related to this film and its story because I have been hurt by love and I know its hard. Probably one of the most painful emotional pains you can get is from love.

I was happy to see her full recovery, not just physically, but emotionally and in terms of her own self love.

Some people are toxic and their psychological abuse hurts even more than burning oil, and lingers for years even! When combined with physical abuse, both pains are compounded exponentially!

This film gave me hope in the face of lingering pain.

The movie about spouse abuse gives to everybody hope that there is an escape, an exit door open to all victims of domestic violence ; Elisabeth has courage to leave, report and turn page on her domestic violence experience.
