Although the only known copy of this failed television pilot is in black & white, it's well worth seeing and is currently posted on YouTube. It's a shame the networks didn't pick it up, as this first episode was both cute and clever.
The story begins with Kermit the Frog introducing it, as he's the king's minstrel. The princess is about to have a birthday and the king has sent out invitations to practically everyone...but NOT Taminella the Witch. While you might be inclined to feel sorry for old Taminella, you shouldn't...she's a jerk and plans on attending the party in order to steal all of the princess' presents. To assist her are Charlie the Ogre and the Grunch. What will happen when Taminella crashes this party?
The show is extremely clever, well written and downright cute. I am sure kids and adults alike would have loved it but sadly it is just another failed pilot...not picked up because, perhaps, it was too different. Regardless, it still holds up very well and should be seen.
