Once upon a time, Val Kilmer’s individual look - defined by a little Swedish blood from his mother’s side - had hearts pumping. Those looks, along with his arrogant, edgy attitude and acting style, helped him clinch plenty of complimentary roles during the 80s and early-90s. Films like Top Secret, Top Gun, Willow and my personal favourite Real Genius were pushing him toward a stellar career back then, and his star was steadily rising.

But Kilmer came down from a serious high of Heat and Tombstone in the mid-90s when he signed on to the notorious clusterfuck that was The Island Of Dr. Moreau, and only recently has the part he played in its disastrous production come to light.

Starz has acquired the North American rights to the action thriller “Momentum,” the company announced Thursday. The deal comes after the film made its world premiere on Wednesday at the 2015 Fantasia International Film Festival. “Momentum” stars Olga Kurylenko (“Quantum of Solace,” “Magic City”) and James Purefoy (“The Following”). Adam Marcus and Debra Sullivan co-wrote the script. The pair had previously collaborated on films like “Texas Chainsaw 3D” and “Conspiracy.” The film also marks the directorial debut of award-winning camera man Stephen S. Campanelli. Texas Chainsaw 3D hits theatres this Friday, opening the first weekend of the year by rebooting one of the longest-running franchises in horror, dating back to the original 1974 cult classic.

All we’ve seen so far from the film has been promising plenty of blood, guts, and all-around horror when it lands, most recently with the latest trailer surfacing back in November. And with just days to go before its release, Lionsgate have released another great thirty-second TV spot to get us all in the mood.

Texas Chainsaw 3D will be opening in the Us on the first weekend of the New Year, and from what we’ve seen so far, it’s going to be a brilliant horror to kick off the first weekend of the year.

The first trailer landed back in September, and with its release now really just a matter of weeks away, Lionsgate have released a new sixty-second trailer, along with the first TV spot.

Texas Chainsaw 3D will be returning us to the massacre of the cult-classic horror once more in the New Year, and after a great first trailer back in September, we’ve got plenty to be excited about.

Leatherface will be back terrorising another group of unsuspecting youngsters, and that’s definitely something to look forward to.

We saw the Us motion poster land earlier in the week, in time for Halloween, and now we’ve had the UK quad variant sent our way, with our beloved killer once more taking centre stage.

New York Comic-Con is kicking off tomorrow, and one of the movies that will be at the convention is the upcoming Texas Chainsaw 3D, the horror reboot that picks up where the original 1974 film left off.

Ahead of its appearance in New York, an old-school new poster has debuted over at FEARnet, and if you’re going to the festival, you can get one of these limited-edition posters, with star Alexandra Daddario on hand to sign it for you.

Guadalajara, Mexico -- Mexican director-producer Eduardo Rossoff is developing a $10-million English-language heist movie with Kick-Ass producer Kris Thykier. Thykier's PeaPie Films, Rossoff's Changos Volando and Spain's Media Films are co-producing. Rossoff is directing the picture, which revolves around an elaborate robbery gone awry. Towards the end of last year we heard that Twisted Pictures had set writers Adam Marcus and Debra Sullivan (the team behind Conspiracy) to script another installment in the long-running Texas Chainsaw Massacre series. Leatherface 3D has been said to be a contemporary take on the chainsaw killer as a sequel to the remake from 2003 with the story being set 35 years after the events of Tobe Hooper's 1974 horror classic. Since then we haven't heard much about the project, but now Bloody Disgusting has gotten word that John Luessenhop, the man who brought us Takers, is in talks to direct the new horror. Gross! The man doesn't really have any experience with horror (though I'm sure one of the five people who saw Takers might call it one of the scariest movies they've ever seen), so this doesn't sound all that promising. But of course, this is Twisted Pictures ...

Bloody-Disgusting has learned that John Luessenhop is in talks with Lionsgate to direct "Leatherface 3D," a sequel to the 2003 "Texas Chainsaw Massacre" remake. Debra Sullivan (Conspiracy) and Adam Marcus (Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday) have recently turned in their rewrites of Stephen Susco's (Red, The Grudge) script. The story will pick up immediately where Tobe Hooper's original left off before flashing forward 35 years. Luessenhop doesn't have the biggest resume. His only films have been "Takers," starring Matt Dillon and Hayden Christensen, and "Lockdown," starring Master P.

It might be lucky number Xiii for Stuart Townsend. The Irish actor plays the title role in Xiii: The Series, a new Franco-Canadian conspiracy action-thriller. Based on the French Belgian comic book series by Jean Van Hamme and William Vance and originally published in 1984, Xiii was first adapted in 2008 in a miniseries called Xiii: The Conspiracy starring Val Kilmer and Stephen Dorff in the title role. Last year it was announced that Michael Bay's Platinum Dunes production company had given up the rights to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise after producing both a remake and a prequel. Twisted Pictures, the people behind the Saw movies, swooped in to snag the rights [1] instead, and hired Stephen Susco (The Grudge) to whip up a screenplay for a new 3-D Leatherface flick. Now that the Saw franchise is potentially at an end (although I still find that hard to believe), they are turning their attention back to this reboot, bringing in a pair of new writers to continue shaping the story. So the Saw franchise has finally ended, and now with all this time on his hands, producer Mark Burg needs a new project. Fear not, for he has his sights set on the Texas Chainsaw Massacre franchise. Burg is teaming up with Carl Mazzocone again (both were producers with Repo: The Genetic Opera) to revive the title for a newer generation. Word has it that Lionsgate and Twisted Pictures are putting the finishing touches on Debra Sullivan(Conspiracy) and Adam Marcus’(Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday) screenplay for Leatherface 3D. Early reports say the story takes place 35 years after Tobe Hoopers original movie ends. Rumor has it that there is a cult involved. A Leatherface cult? Um, Ok.

With the Saw franchise apparently coming to an end, Twisted Pictures are turning their attentions to bloody pastures new. We reported a while ago that the Saw studio had picked up the rights to The Texas Chainsaw Massacre (after they were dropped by Platinum Dunes following the 2003 remake and the 2006 prequel), and now with Jigsaw put to rest, producer Mark Burg is turning his attention to Leatherface 3D.The final touches are being scratched into a script by Debra Sullivan and Adam Marcus as we speak. The two previously worked together on the low-budget Val Kilmer Western Conspiracy, and Marcus also wrote and directed Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday (except, of course, it wasn't). The word on the street is that Leatherface 3D picks up right after the end of the Tobe Hooper original (so will we see Leatherface finish dancing with his saw and mooch home?) before jumping forward 35 years.

His name is Adam Marcus, and he last directed the Val Kilmer starrer “Conspiracy” (you’ve probably never heard of it, cause mostly it sucked), and before that, “Jason Goes to Hell: The Final Friday”, which as it turns out, wasn’t really the final Friday. Variety has more on the remake: The film focuses on a private tutor who discovers a terrifying family secret while working at the ancient estate of a New Orleans businessman. The original was a forerunner of the corps of walking corpse films that followed. Hartley called the film one of the most valuable in the Rko library. It was officially announced tonight that Rko's Roseblood Movie Co. and Twisted Pictures have set Adam Marcus to direct I Walked With A Zombie, the remake of the Val Lewton Rko 1943 classic. Marcus, who directed Jason Goes To Hell: The Final Friday, has written the script with Debra Sullivan, his writing partner on the Val Kilmer starrer Conspiracy. During an interview with Shock Till You Drop the director of Race to Witch Mountain, Andy Fickman, revealed some interesting tidbits of news about Jason Goes to Hell director Adam Marcus' involvement in Twisted Pictures' upcoming remake of I Walked With a Zombie.

Marcus will be at the directorial helm for this redux of the 1943 classic, which told the story of a young Canadian nurse (Betsy Connell) who comes to the West Indies to care for Jessica, the wife of a plantation manager (Paul Holland). Jessica seems to be suffering from a kind of mental paralysis as a result of fever. When she falls in love with Paul, Betsy determines to cure Jessica even if she needs to use a voodoo ceremony to give Paul what she thinks he wants.
