I loved this movie so much I bought it twice. I showed the first one to my mother. See loved it so much that I gave it to her. Then I ordered another one. You must order this movie.You can't buy it in stores. What a wonderful story. A girl is found passed out along the road from starvation and the only one in the village who is willing to take her in is an old man. They grow to love each other very much. The little girl causes tension within the family and the old man's daughter in-law does everything in her power to get rid her. The little girls crying gets kind of old after watching several times. But what a wonderful movie to watch the first time.If you like sad stories that end well this is for you.

It's a lovely story, a real tearjerker. Basically it tries to say that sharing what you have is good, which is what all parents try to teach their children. Funny thing is, modern society tends to teach the opposite, i.e. possessive individualism is good. When there's a crisis just go shopping. With so much plenty and wealth around us we still can't be happy, and yet in rural society all it takes is an egg or a potato pancake! I suspect some of it will come across as socialist propaganda (yes, there's a bit of it) and it'll probably take a super apocalyptic event (2012?) to teach us that human beings have to find a way to share, that the environment can't survive all of us hankering after an SUV-in-the-garage lifestyle. It's worth watching just so we can re-think that age-old question - about do human beings really need?

Great story told in a touching way. As the saying goes "It takes a village to raise a child' or something like that. I cried most of the way through but I cry at lots of things! So simply and moving I had to comment. I hope to learn about the director and people involved in the making of this. I loved the Grandfather he is so touching and honest. Not sure what they are smoking in those pipes but it seems to work! A tale of life and learning. Well acted by a young girl in the main part. A movie that makes you feel very strongly about each person. My first time to make a comment. As you can see I"m not very good but hope everyone sees this movie and enjoys. Cheers
