I am not a Kevin Hart fan but I gave it a go as I like the other actors in it. The plot was simple and ptedictable and Kevin played his usual obnoxious self but the short episodes made it more bearable to watch. It's an ok time filler but very forgettable.
If you envisioned that meme painting by Fernando Botero of Pope Leo, the chubby person, titled Y Tho, you're on the right track. I'm not sure why this nonsense was even made. Perhaps it's a mid-life crisis vanity project for Hart, but it ended up playing out like failed SNL sketches. The story, what little there was of it, didn't have enough substance to even fill in the mere 78 min runtime. The action was laughable, and the comedy was lame. Conceptually, the narrative was interesting, but the execution felt like something you'd expect from a high school drama class. I know this is an ongoing TV series, but it's not like it's successful, so not sure who had the bright idea to turn this into a movie no one will enjoy or for that matter want to see. At least the film's premise is right, Hart isn't a leading action star. But he is the best sidekick ever, and should just stick with that.
"Die Hart" is a 'series' that was made for the Quibi streaming service, where the shows are meant to be watched on your smartphone when you're on the go, so the episodes are all under 9 minutes. There are some funny moments, but this is one of several Quibi shows that doesn't feel quite like a series or quite like a movie, being lost somewhere in the middle. Actually, "Die Hart" borrows generously from comedies from two decades ago. John Travolta shines in his role and looks like a different actor than we have been accustomed to and it gives him a new energy, while Kevin Hart plays his usual character - aloof and oblivious. The end result doesn't feel like a complete project, as much as spending the day watching clips on YouTube from a movie that you're not sure you want to pay to see in its entirety. I do know, I will not be re-watching this.

It's a worse version of exactly what you expect it to be. It feels like the budget was akin to a couple actors getting their phones out and shooting a proof of concept movie that no one was meant to see. I would avoid this unless you are a die hard Kevin Hart fan and even then set the bar lower then ever before.
There are no surprises you don't see coming a mile away and I can't think of a single joke that didn't make me roll my eyes. The whole movie I was just waiting for it to be over. This is definitely not the quality you are used to seeing in a Kevin Hart movie. I still think he can be funny but this was a big miss for so many reasons...

Kevin Hart states that this series is about him playing a version of himself who doesn't want to be portrayed as a sidekick comedy charachter. However it only goes to prove that these are the only characters he is capable of playing.
The premise is pretty interesting, as it focuses on an actor who is successful in certain types of roles, but wishes to become a stand alone action hero. In order to achieve this he attends an action hero school where everything is not as it seems.
Based on this plot there are so many ways this could have been a unique and interesting show, but there is no depth or imagination and each episode feels like an 8 minute long trailer for a low budget action film you do not want to see.
The saving grace of this project is that each episode is only 8 minutes long.
