Would just dismiss White Hole as nothing more than a screensaver... actually, it is nothing more than a screensaver, but it was made before screensavers were a thing and that's cool. With a release date of 1979, I don't entirely know how they made many of the images that appear on screen here. Whether the people who made screensavers took inspiration from this, I don't know.
That's about all the commentary I can offer. This is all about some deep, trippy visual experience. That's what it wants to offer you, and I guess it kind of succeeds at doing that. Some of the sound effects were also a little tense, but I wish there'd been amazing music used throughout the whole thing. That was keeping me from really zoning out and finding everything weird in an engrossing way.
But it's still a cool short, when approached as a piece of experimental animation.
