Like the title suggests, the dramedy tells the story "Church Folks" who's lives are revealed on screen dealing with real life issues while managing the needs of the church. Packed with amazing performances from Dorien Wilson (Professor Oglevee on "The Parkers") plays Frank, the head pastor and Christopher Martin (aka Play from the Kid & Play rap duo and "House Party") plays Zach, a man who went to an unnamed Bible College, and who currently works in the corporate world, quits his six-figure job to work as the church's outreach director, the film slowly grows on you and takes you into the journey of each character introduced in each episode, with reality show style confessionals that are incorporated into the episodes, many that are really hilarious to watch like the show, "The Office".
"Church Folks" is a multi-camera situation comedy.
The series focuses on the various goings on centered around a church with a multicultural congregation.

Reality show style confessionals are incorporated into the episodes. (The congregation is not Catholic, by the way).
The city's setting isn't explicitly identified, but seems hinted to be suburban Dallas.
The first episode introduces all of the core characters. The sitcom format means that these folks get shown in broad comedic strokes.
The show seems like it might be a decent distraction. The non-well known actors do a decent enough job.
