I tend to hate anthology films. It just is almost always very anticlimactic, quite unnecessarily ornate and almost always has a section of two that is ungodly awful or not at par with the overall product.
I do not think this film is any different. The first two stories are draft level awful and almost non-sensical. The characters in that section has no motivations and mostly is defined as one-dimensional quirks. Its just was so awfully plotted that I was wondering in what world was this rating coming from.
The last two (not including the Last day section) is ok.
I found the third storyline the only fully stretched story of all the film. It has drama, it has characters, the acting and the only story that peaked then ebb properly. It is the only story that actually has meat and actual interaction within characters - not just verbally but emotionally. The fourth one is the most interesting but was rushed to high heavens. It just has that quick puking scene then he is changed for the good. I wish they just removed the first story altogether and just made this final one better. It has something there to make it better.
Not my cup of tea. The style is interesting but feels like a topical aid to what is a very messy and empty film. Not recommended.
