I was lured in to watching the 2021 action comedy movie "Average Joe" from the cover/poster, as I must say that it did seem like it could be a fun movie.
Sadly, the best thing about this movie was that cover. Yeah, the movie is a low budget and low-key superhero action comedy, but with a twist. Yeah, this movie doesn't have super buff young men with muscles in places you didn't even know could have muscles. No, these are superheroes with dad bodies. Yep.
Well, while that concept definitely has potential for some good comedy, then this movie just fell very short of delivering much of any entertainment or enjoyment that appealed to me. So this movie was a swing and a miss from writer and director Mark Cant.
What made "Average Joe" fail here for me was the pacing of the storyline and the fact that the character gallery in the movie was just insanely monotonous. So there was just little of anything worthwhile here for me.
Now, I am sure that a niche film such as "Average Joe" definitely will find an audience out there somewhere, I just happened not to be a part of that particular audience.
I am rating "Average Joe" a generous two out of ten stars, as the movie just failed to entertain or impress me on any level.

Evidently this takes place in an alternate universe where there are no black people... either that or the casting director just didn't know any... with a better budget this could have been decent...
If I could give this a negative score I would -10, as in you would have to pay me to watch this.
This might be a good movie if I didn't care about things like acting, story, plot, dialog, action, drama or really anything that makes a movie watchable.
If you watched the trailer you've seen the entire movie. Seriously. Save your brain cells.

I should've listened to the reviews and just watch the trailer. There's not really anything you miss, it seems like they had a mcdonalds dollar menu budget and instead of a cheeseburger they chose to make this garbage. The sharknado series was better and I despise that series. You could throw a biscuit in a random directiom and hit a better actor in LA then whatever the hell this garbage was. I've seen better acting on youtube for free and I didnt pay for that. But here I am paying $3.99 to rent this garbage. I would rather play frogger on the interstate than spend a single second watching whatever this is.

There is nothing good about this movie. The acting and plot was the worst I've seen. And I've watched a lot of B rated spoof movies. The filming and editing was so bad, I've seen amateur children do better. Who ever took part in this movie, I feel it will be there first and last time in film.
