The cast of Max’s medical drama “The Pitt” is clocking in for their shift.

The series, which explores the everyday challenges healthcare workers face in a Pittsburgh, Pennsylvania emergency room, was produced by John Wells. R. Scott Gemmill will write the first episode and executive produce “The Pitt” alongside its star Noah Wyle, who plays Dr. Michael “Robby” Robinavitch.

The Boys season 4 premieres its first three episodes on Thursday, June 13. Zorro and Expats are the big shows coming to Prime Video in January. The former is what Amazon are calling a “bold reinterpretation” of the classic hero El Zorro for 2024. Starring Miguel Bernardeau as Diego de la Vega and Renata Notni as Lolita Marquez, it’s definitely an intriguing-sounding action-adventure series, with a ten-episode first season based on the iconic character originally created by Johnston McCulley all the way back in 1919.

Meanwhile, upcoming drama series Expats is based on the bestselling 2016 novel The Expatriates by Janice Y. K. Lee, and follows “the vibrant lives of a close-knit expatriate community” in Hong Kong. Nicole Kidman has been known for picking the right kind of shows to lead in the past, so let’s hope this is another banger for the actress, who is also on board as an executive producer here.

In the last few years, action cinema has significantly improved with instant classics like Mad Max: Fury Road, The Raid 2, Mission: Impossible - Fallout, and Baby Driver. While many of these films are granted massive marketing campaigns and huge budgets, there is also a rising tide of low-budget films that are released directly on streaming services or VOD. While some of these don’t hit theaters because of their lack of quality, the VOD action genre has produced some genuinely underrated gems. One such film was 2015’s American Heist, a crime thriller following the tragic relationship between the ex-con Frankie Kelly (Adrien Brody) and his sensitive brother James (Hayden Christensen). Below, we’ve assembled a complete list of what’s new on Amazon Prime Video in March, and it includes the highly anticipated second season of the sci-fi comedy series “Upload,” which premieres March 11. Additionally, the new series “The Boys Presents: Diabolical” premieres on March 4 and promises eight all-new animated stories set within the R-rated superhero world of “The Boys.”

Also on March 4, the Amy Poehler-directed documentary “Lucy and Desi” premieres, chronicling the relationship between Lucille Ball and Desi Arnaz.

In terms of library titles, March 1 brings the Ryan Reynolds-Sandra Bullock rom-com “The Proposal,” the classic “Dead Poets Society,” the sci-fi “Alien” prequel “Prometheus,” the comedy spoof “Spaceballs” and a number of other films to the streaming service.

Also arriving on March 4 is season 2 of the high concept comedy Upload. Set in a digital afterlife, this series created by The Office‘s Greg Daniels asks some big questions about where technology is taking us.

Will Packer Productions has tapped Leon Chills to adapt Stan Parish’s “Love and Theft” into a new movie for Universal Pictures.

Based on Parish’s novel, which was published in 2020 by Penguin Random House through its imprint at Knopf Doubleday, “Love and Theft” is a global romantic heist film set in Las Vegas, Mexico, and Spain.

Chills has previously written episodes for Netflix’s “Spinning Out” and Amazon’s “The Wilds,” where he was a story editor. On the feature side, Chills’ first spec sale was “Shadow Force,” an action drama sold to Lionsgate.

Packer and Johanna Byer will produce the movie, while Alvie Hurtado will oversee the production for Wpp. Lexi Barta, Universal Pictures’ vice president of production development, will oversee on behalf of the studio.

Will Packer has been named Producer of the 94th Annual Academy Awards, set for March 27.

This will be the first Oscar show to be produced by Packer, a prolific producer of numerous films and TV projects including Straight Outta Compton, Ride Along, Girls Trip, the Think Like a Man films and the television remake of Roots, for which he received an Emmy nomination. But his credits do not include a lot of live TV projects, so taking on the Oscars will be a relatively new experience. His wide-ranging credits in comedy give hope that he also will be creating a fun Academy Awards.

Shayla Cowan, chief of staff of Will Packer Productions and Will Packer Media, will serve as co-producer alongside Packer. The move marks Packer’s first involvement with the Oscars, which will air live on ABC and broadcast outlets worldwide on Sunday, March 27, 2022.

“Will is a powerhouse producer who has enjoyed success across all movie genres. He’s already bringing a boundless energy and a focus on innovation to this year’s Oscars, to entertain the widest spectrum of fans. In the new role, Hurtado is responsible for identifying content, filmmakers and talent for feature film development and production. He reports directly to Johanna Byer, Will Packer Prods.’ (Wpp) executive vice president of motion pictures.

“Alvie is an integral part of our film team,” producer and founder Will Packer said, announcing Hurtado’s promotion. “As we embark upon a rousing new chapter at Wpp he will be essential to our short and long term goals.”

Hurtado joined Wpp in 2017 as an assistant to the president of film and was upped to creative executive in 2020. During his tenure with the company, Hurtado has focused on the company’s expanding development slate while championing diverse and innovative voices. Outside of Wpp, he is a co-founder and board member of The Latin Tracking Board, an organization for up-and-coming LatinX executives in Hollywood.

When Bosch first premiered on Amazon Prime Video in 2014, the streaming world was in a very different place. Netflix had only House of Cards and Orange is the New Black under its belt. Hulu was still a joint venture owned by multiple conglomerates. Disney+, HBO Max, and Peacock didn’t even exist. Now, in June 2021, Amazon Prime’s list of new releases is highlighted by one last outing for LAPD Detective Harry Bosch.

Bosch season 7 premieres on June 25. This will be the last batch of episodes for the series, before a spinoff gets rolling for IMDb TV. For those who are not caught up on the sprawling procedural, Amazon has some other original TV series this month as well. Brazilian crime drama Dom premieres on June 4. The project, titled “Like It’s the Last,” comes from an original idea from Pride, who will also write the script.

Will Packer will produce the film on behalf of his eponymous production company alongside Wpp motion picture president James Lopez. The new film marks the second teaming between the trio, who also have the erotic drama “Deeper” in development with Universal.

Pride and Wpp’s Johanna Byer will serve as executive producers.

Will Packer Productions has hired Johanna Byer as executive VP of motion pictures.

For the past four years, Byer has served as senior VP of film and television for French film studio Gaumont. Prior to that role, she was the VP of development at Working Title Films, where she played key roles in producing and developing numerous film projects including “We Are Your Friends,” “Baby Driver,” “Theory of Everything,” “Everest” and “Les Miserables.”

In her new position, Byer is responsible for identifying, developing and producing the company’s feature film projects as well as working closely with filmmakers, directors and other talent. She reports directly to James Lopez, president of Will Packer Productions.

“Johanna is a highly regarded and respected executive who will be a great addition to Wpp as we ramp up our slate of films and expand our features business,” said Lopez. “We look forward to developing meaningful and impactful projects with her.

Amazon Prime’s new releases in June 2020 is fairly lacking in original material. That’s to be expected for a streaming service that focuses on quality over quantity to begin with now going through a pandemic content crunch.

Standup special Gina Brillon: The Floor Is Lava, Joseph Gordon-Levitt film 7500, and Pete the Cat season 2 are the only originals arriving this month. And that’s fine as Amazon is about to be home to one of 2019’s most fun films. That’s right – Knives Out makes its debut on June 12. It might be awhile before we get to see the next Benoit Blanc mystery so hopefully this will tide us over.

June 1 also sees the arrival of Dirty Dancing, Kingpin, and the tragically underrated Sex Drive. It’s not the most impressive month Amazon has ever had, but at least you still get free shipping.

Amazon Prime Video is out with its list of everything new coming to the streaming service in June 2020, from originals like its upcoming weekly docuseries spotlighting essential workers called “Regular Heroe” to “Pete the Cat: Season 2, Part 1.”

The Magicians doesn’t do anything halfway, but unfortunately that principle also applies to its missteps, of which “Magicians Anonymous” is one. Where the series is usually able to weave together disparate storylines to create a cohesive thematic tapestry, this episode felt oddly disjointed. It was almost as if the narrative itself was akin to the brown bunny in the Etheric Realm, jumping from story to story with dizzying disorientation while admittedly charming us along the way. The installment was redeemed somewhat by significant insights into the apocalypse problem, Penny’s mysterious signal, and the troubles in Fillory, but fans are used to cleaner storytelling in this show.

Nov. 30 marks the fifth anniversary of Paul Walker's death, and we're honoring his memory with a look back at some of his best photos over the years. Paul's career took off after his role in 1999's Varsity Blues, and after that he starred in films like She's All That, The Skulls, and Takers. He became most recognized and beloved for his role as Brian O'Conner in the Fast and the Furious series, but, tragically, a car crash claimed Paul's life in November 2013 at the age of 40. After his passing, there was an outpouring of heartfelt messages and sincere condolences from his costars, friends, and famous fans. His daughter, Meadow, has also taken to social media since her dad's death to share heartwarming throwback photos of them together. Exclusive: Universal Pictures has just closed a deal to acquire Beast, an action-thriller for Will Packer to produce. The logline is being kept under wraps, but the film will show what happens when man is forced to go head-to-head with a beast. The pitch comes from Jamie Primak-Sullivan, and it will be scripted by Ryan Engle. They served the same roles in the Packer-produced Breaking In, and Engle separately scripted Rampage. Packer will produce through his Will Packer Productions banner alongside partner James Lopez and Primak-Sullivan will executive produce. Engel is repped by CAA and Mosaic.

Exclusive: Michael Ealy has joined Kofi Siriboe, Uzo Aduba, Naturi Naughton, Tristan Mack Wilds, Yootha Wong-Loi-Sing, and Jade Eshete in MacRo’s romantic drama Really Love, which is being directed by Angel Kristi Williams from a screenplay she wrote with Felicia A. Pride.

Ealy’s more recent film credits include The Perfect Guy, Think Like a Man Too, About Last Night, Underworld Awakening, and Takers.

Currently in production, Really Love follows the life of a starving artist in gentrifying Washington D.C. who is struggling to find his place in the prestigious art world. When a young law student unexpectedly comes into his life, he must choose between a whirlwind romance and his budding career as a successful painter.

Producers are Mel Jones, MacRo’s Charles D. King, Aaliyah Williams and Kim Roth as well as Williams. MacRo’s Poppy Hanks, Kim Coleman, Stephanie Allain, Latisha Fortune, Sanford Grimes, and Pride are executive producers.

Think Like A Man and Being Mary Jane actor Michael Ealy has set Anonymous Content as his management team. Ealy, who will continue to be repped by UTA and Ziffren Brittenham, next co-stars in the indie psychological thriller Motivated Seller opposite Dennis Quaid and Meagan Good as well as the David Rosenthal-directed remake of the 1990 thriller Jacob’s Ladder.

Past film credits include the Barbershop 1 & 2, The Perfect Guy, Underworld Awakening, and Takers.

On the TV side, he starred in Season 2 of ABC’s Secrets And Lies, joined Kevin Bacon for Season 3 of The Following, and picked up a Golden Globe nom for his performance in Showtime’s Sleeper Cell.

A Paul Walker documentary is in the works. The Fast and the Furious star died an untimely death in a tragic car accident back in 2013. However, in part because the Fast and Furious is one of the biggest franchises on the planet and a franchise that continues to honor his legacy, he's remembered fondly by many and now, a documentary is being made that will chronicle his life and death.

Paramount Network will produce the documentary, along with I Am Heath Ledger producer Derik Murray. Network Entertainment is also involved. At the present time, the documentary, which will be titled I Am Paul Walker, doesn't have a timetable for release, but all of the pieces seem to be in place. The Cannes Film Festival is currently in full swing in the south of France, and one of the movies being sold to worldwide buyers at the fest is Numb, At the Edge of the End. Vmi Worldwide has debuted the first trailer for this indie thriller, as it seeks international buyers at Cannes. The film doesn't have a release date in place yet, and it doesn't seem that the film has a domestic distributor quite yet, but that may change at the festival.

The story follows Kurt Matheson (Hayden Christensen) a war veteran with Ptsd (post traumatic stress disorder) who perceives that the end of the world is coming. After establishing a relationship with a dubious Messiah (Harvey Keitel), he leaves his normal life and begins the construction of a shelter underground, training himself in an extreme way, at the cost of losing everything. He soon makes people believe he is insane.

While fans still have a few weeks before they can pick up the Suicide Squad Extended Edition on Blu-ray and DVD, it is currently available on the Digital HD format. We have already seen bloopers and deleted scenes from this extended edition, but today we have a few new Easter Eggs that one fan discovered after watching this new cut. All of these Easter Eggs offer subtle nods to Batman lore, which are seen in a shot of the Gotham City skyline.

A Reddit user posted a new photo from a scene of the Gotham City skyline, which features the logos for Ace Chemicals, along with logos for the Gotham Chronicle and the Gotham Telegraph. This scene in question takes place just before the action cuts to a scene with Deadshot (Will Smith) and his young daughter. As fans of the DC Comics know, Ace Chemicals plays an important part in the Joker's origin story.

Last month, we reported that the new Extended Cut of Suicide Squad will have 11 minutes of extra footage that wasn't seen in the theatrical cut. Today we have a clip that showcases a new scene that wasn't featured in theaters, where Harley Quinn (Margot Robbie) sees a motorcycle laying on the ground, and has a flashback to an earlier moment in time involving The Joker (Jared Leto). As it turns out, The Joker had dumped Harleen Quinzel, but she wouldn't let that stand.

Earlier this month, we showed you the extended cut trailer for Warner Bros.' DC Comics adaptation Suicide Squad, along with details revealing this new version will feature 13 minutes of extra footage not seen in theaters. It seems that number was just a bit off, with a new image of the Blu-ray packaging announcing that there are only going to be 11 minutes of extra footage when it debuts on Digital HD November 15 and on Blu-ray and DVD December 13. We now have details on the special features that will be included in this extended edition.
