Momoa has proven to be a bankable movie star, and his roles have led to over $4.5 billion at the worldwide box office (via The Numbers). His projects haven't always been a hit with the critics, but he has always drawn people to the theaters. With the surprising success of the critically panned A Minecraft Movie, Jason Momoa continued an exciting Rotten Tomatoes trend for the audience scores.

The race to The Oscars is quickly heading towards its last stage with the night of the ceremony arriving in mere weeks, and along with that, speculations of who might win the Best Actress award are also being churned out. If people were to be questioned about this, most might say Emma Stone should bag the accolade for her stellar performance in her 2023 film Poor Things.
Emma Stone in a still from Poor Things
But as is always the case, it’s not as easy as it seems to be, as following hot on her heels for the Academy Award is none other than Lily Gladstone, who too has received tremendous praise for her performance in Martin Scorsese’s Killers of the Flower Moon. Thus, many are also starting to believe that Stone has tough competition in the race going forward.

In revisiting the tale of fugitive lovers on the run in California’s High Desert, the makers of “The Last Manhunt” sought to correct a story that has remained very much alive for the indigenous Chemehuevi people of the region for more than 100 years.
Produced by Jason Momoa’s On the Roam and directed by Christian Camargo from a script by Thomas Pa’a Sibbett, “The Last Manhunt” opens this year’s inaugural Pioneertown International Film Festival, which takes place May 27-29. The historic movie-set town, home to the popular Pappy & Harriet’s music club, is located near the actual site of the events that transpired in 1909 in and around Twentynine Palms and Joshua Tree National Park.
It was there that Willie Boy met and fell in love with Carlota, the daughter of local tribal chief William Mike. After a confrontation that ends in the death of her father, Willie Boy...

Dwayne Johnson recently said there was “no chance” he’d ever return to the “Fast and Furious” series, but Vin Diesel and company wasted no time in finding some star power to replace him. The franchise announced on Twitter that “Aquaman” star Jason Momoa is set to join the cast of the upcoming tenth film. While his character has yet to be confirmed, rumors have swirled that Momoa is playing a new villain.
“The Fast Fam keeps getting bigger. Welcome, Jason Momoa,” the Fast Saga tweeted. Momoa is the latest star to join the long-running action franchise, as the likes of Johnson, Jason Statham, John Cena, and even Helen Mirren have appeared in “Fast & Furious” movies in recent years. The films have demonstrated some serious box office longevity, with 2021’s “F9” grossed over $726 million worldwide. Two decades into its box office reign, the franchise’s future beyond this tenth film remains uncertain.

Jason Momoa is everywhere. The former Game of Thrones actor is riding high after starring in the popular film Sweet Girl on Netflix, with Season 2 of his Apple TV+ series See set to start streaming this weekend and a key role in Denis Villeneuve’s hotly anticipated Dune adaptation on deck. Oh, and as the Dceu continues to shift and change, he’s still the only Arthur Curry, aka Aquaman, in sight. Not bad for a guy who got his start on Baywatch: Hawaii.
Things aren’t slowing down any time soon for Momoa. Besides the projects listed above, the actor has a few other big things planned down the road. If you just finished Netflix’s Sweet Girl and you’re looking for more Momoa in your life, here’s where you can expect to see the King of Atlantis next.
