Writer, director, and executive producer Matt Hastings has signed with Gersh, Variety has learned exclusively. Hastings continues to also be repped by attorney Bob Getman and The Gotham Group.

News of the signing comes on the same day as the launch of Hastings’ newest series, “Fallen,” which is set to premiere on Sundance Now and AMC+. That show is adapted from Lauren Kate’s “Fallen” novel series. Hastings directed the pilot and served as showrunner and executive producer on the show, which is an international co-production.

Hastings is a two-time Emmy nominee. He shared in the best drama series nomination for the hit Hulu series “The Handmaid’s Tale,” on which he served as a writer and co-executive producer. Some sci-fi TV shows have gotten even better with time and make for a great re-watch. One of the most entertaining things about watching an older sci-fi show or movie is to see how they envisage the future. Back to the Future has proved that self-tying shoes and flying cars may not be one of humanity's top priorities, but watching a show about the future, made in the past, can be both frightening and hilarious.

Viewers have also always been curious about discovering other planets or alternate realities. Some series tend to tackle the subject with care and trepidation, while others focus on a more lighthearted approach. But, the true beauty of the best sci-fi shows is embracing all the suspension of disbelief that the genre so graciously offers. While some classics like Star Trek don't even need to be mentioned, some relatively old shows from the last 20 years or so shouldn't be forgotten either.

There are several incredible sci-fi shows that see long runs on television, airing without seeing a single bad season. This is in stark contrast to the trend that seems to be developing more and more as of late, where sci-fi shows that don't deserve to be canceled are prematurely ended, and other underappreciated sci-fi shows never get the recognition they deserve. Although some long-running sci-fi shows like Doctor Who have been panned in recent years for poorly written seasons, many sci-fi shows with five seasons or more retain a consistent standard.

Though there are many incredible sci-fi movies set to release in 2025, sometimes a sci-fi TV show with plenty of episodes is exactly what a viewer needs. It is rare to find a series that truly has no bad seasons, remaining of a certain quality all the way through. With so many quality seasons to keep one busy, shows like...

Too often, canceled TV shows leave audiences devastated as the unexpected cancelations leave them with unanswered questions and their characters' fates unknown and the beloved channel SyFy is not above this. Launched in 1992, Syfy Channel has broadcast many incredible TV shows that garnered a large audience. We have some sad news to share today, as it has been confirmed that actor Pedro Miguel Arce has passed away at the much too young age of 46. Arce had over eighty screen acting credits to his name, but may be best known for playing the roles of Pillsbury in George A. Romero’s Land of the Dead and the character Felix in multiple episodes of the Guillermo del Toro series The Strain. It has been said that Arce passed away after “a brief battle with cancer”.

We’ve learned the sad news this week that Nicaraguan actor Pedro Miguel Arce, best known to horror fans for George A. Romero’s Land of the Dead, has passed away at the age of 46.

Sean Clark writes on Instagram, “I just read that Pedro Miguel Arce who played Pillsbury in George A. Romero’s Land of the Dead has passed away after a short battle with cancer.”

Yellowjackets star Kevin Alves, who plays the role of Travis Martinez in the hit Showtime drama, has been upped to series regular for the forthcoming second season, according to Deadline. Alves’ Travis is the older son of Coach Martinez, the head coach of the Yellowjackets girls soccer team, who were involved in a plane crash on their way to the nationals. Throughout the first season, we saw Travis looking out for his younger brother Javi (Luciano Leroux) and developing a romantic relationship with Natalie “Nat” Scatorccio (Sophie Thatcher). Before landing his role on Yellowjackets, Alves starred as Javi Gonzalez in the Netflix fantasy horror series Locke & Key. He also recurred for two seasons on Shadowhunters as Bat Velasquez. NBCUniversal’s international flight plan for Peacock starts this week: Starting Nov. 16, Sky TV and Now customers in the U.K. and Ireland will get access to the streaming service for no additional fee.

Comcast had announced plans this summer to launch Peacock as a free add-on for Sky’s satellite TV customers in Europe, representing a base of close to 20 million households. According to NBCU, after the “soft launch” in the U.K. and Ireland, Peacock will continue to roll out across Sky platforms in territories including Germany, Italy, Austria and Switzerland in the next few months.

So much for nurturing your child's imagination. In the case of a Harvey, you might be leading your entire family to the grave.

SurrealEstate maintained its whimsy and humor the second episode out.

It also continues to resemble beloved shows that have come before, but I'd like to see a little more involvement from the secondary characters.

I'd mentioned Warehouse 13 and Haven, which were known to focus on the leads quite heavily. But Haven, especially, had a great supporting lineup of characters whose skills were imperative to helping the leads determine which direction to go to solve cases.

A reader brought up Eureka, and if things continue along this path, we won't see that same kind of unity on SurrealEstate.
