This series could definitely be better. The storylines are all over the place. The writing could be better. It's a good show it's has a good foundation to start with but they need better writers. Living Single, Girlfriends even Single Ladies had good storylines to their shows. This has the potential to be a great show if they make changes.

It is one of these series that has a good idea but such a poor execution it hurts. Four good friends. But they don't see that their one friend Whitney is unhappy and about to get married. Like totally blind it to. Ella thinks because she didn't make it immediately she is ruined and she should not try again. Also keeps abandoning the so good friends just to get laid with anyone. Renee and Sondi they are good with nice storylines even though Renee's crazy is over the trop like trying too hard to make it happen. We see zero self reflection or growth during the series just drinking and complaining but not changing anything or trying. They are just acting like the men in their lives are the source of their problems when they main characters have the flaws and they are not willing to consider them at all.
It could be so much better. We could actually see Renee being the phenomenal woman she claims to be. We could see Whitney not making her life over a man and same with the rest. Also for unknown reasons everyone is well dressed but Sondi, they dress her like she is older and twenty years in the past constantly while the rest of the cast is always looking so good.

I wanted something to binge after a long day when I like to tune out a bit, but the acting was so, so bad that I couldn't watch it. Also, it seemed quite cringe worthy. Nope.
7/10 enjoyed this show so much I love the bond between the women very entertaing, I binged watched every episode in one day. Check it out if you like shows about relationships, friendships etc.

Girlfriends was so successful because it was intelligent, charming, and relatable.
The people here who are commenting saying that it's an "updated Girlfriends" need to go back and re-watch Girlfriends. None of these ladies were relatable. None of them were really all that funny.
Every other word in the series was "black black black black". Girlfriends touched based on women in the work place, gay rights, differences in religion, and racial inequality. It did it in a way that wasn't invasive or forced. These important topics NEED to be discussed, but it needs to be done the right way that reaches a larger audience. Not even black people wanna watch this ish.
These creators need to go back and take a lesson from the OG, come back, and THEN redo the show with a lot more finesse. Hell, just bring back Girlfriends since there hasn't been a comparable black female sitcom since then.

A lot of these 10 Star reviews seem super fake,
Now on the show, a lot of the acting was bad, and is just trash overall.
I love this show! We need to see more relatable, black "girlfriends" on television.

My friends suggested I give this a try, and I did, but I gotta say that as a Black man I didn't find this remotely funny, just sad. The show's about these friends that spend the entire episode saying the most hateful things about men and how terrible we are, but then they turn around and behave ten times worse and somehow that's just fine? Of course it isn't. I've got 2 kids, a little boy and girl, and shows like this make me worry for their future. What kind of examples are we setting for the next generation when our people are depicted like this? Like ignorant, classes, moral-less, buffoons!

I ma born and raised in Harlem and the best part of this series is when they show the different parts of Harlem and New York. The show has NO direction and it is portrays these sistas as sex craved sleeping around one night stands and far too much profanity. I was very disappointed that they portray sistas from Harlem ion such a negative light. I was hoping that it would be an uplifting light ala "Living Single". This show should be cancelled YESTERDAY the filth and sex is over played sleeping around like hoes with no type of discretion and or self respect.

I loved it. Wish it was a hour long though. Definitely looking forward to seeing where this goes. Watched Girlfriends and Sex and the City. Really enjoyed this show.

It is so sad how the producers of these series try to make a false stereotype of strong, successful women. Other than division, hate, and promiscuous behavior, the series is a solid 3 star.
Loved every second. A little insight goes a long way. 4 strong badasses. I'll watch every week.

The lead women are great. They have perfect chemistry while each being so different. The current rating on this (4.7 / 10) does not reflect how good this show really is. This is from the creator of Living Single and I was happy to see Erika Alexander in the first episode !
This show is one of the best depictions of black women I have seen in a long time. We need more positive perspective of what I'd really looks like to be a black woman who is career oriented. Great show!

This series is amazing and we need more like it! It's sad that series like this, showcasing black women ALWAYS get a low rating; as if, black women can't be fashionable, sexy, successful, sexual and relatable. Run The World is the revamped Sex and City, featuring beautiful black women and a talented cast that's entertaining and keeps you interested. The intelligent and witty dialogue and the comedic and romantic storylines are well worth the watch.

Absolutely adore this show, I think most of the negative reviews are geared from people the show is not marketed for.. as a twenty-something black women, I find Run the World extremely relatable, modern, and aesthetically gorgeous. I can see myself in the characters and I can see my friends in the characters.
Also I think many people are sensitive to black women on-screen having sex lives as the "promiscuity" mentioned is no less than Sex and the City or even Being Mary Jane. (And I hope the same people complaining aren't the same people watching Power.) Either way, it's something that can be debated over and talked about which means it's an intriguing show. Imagine watching something and not having much to say about it... we need more shows like this and I truly hope it gets renewed for many more seasons.
My favorite character is Bresha (:

It's enjoyable but was initially over the top with the sex craze the women have. Luckily the show begins to have more substance a couple of episodes in. I thoroughly enjoy both Bresha's (married friend) and Ambe's (engaged friend) characters. Erika (living single's Maxine Shaw) is awesome as always. Especially in episode 4, where she brought the much needed laughter and smiles to the show. Overall, the show is good, but I really hope they enhance Andrea's (single friend) role. Corbin's role begins to fit and have more substance as the show progresses. Overall, the show has promise and I will keep watching and giving it a chance, if anything to support Bresha, Amber and Erika's roles and acting.
