The cast of the upcoming horror sequel Scream 7 continues to grow. Now, another two names have been revealed as franchise newcomers for the movie.
Per Deadline, it's been announced that Scream 7 has recruited Michelle Randolph (Landman) and Jimmy Tatro (The Real Bros of Simi Valley). Details about their roles have not been disclosed, but either one could potentially be playing the next person to be unmasked as a Ghostface killer, given how that changes with each installment. They could also just as easily be playing two more victims of the Ghostface killer. In any case, all fans can do at this time is speculate with no additional information known about the roles.
Randolph is best known for her breakout role in Landman, the Paramount+ series in which she plays the daughter of Billy Bob Thornton's character. She also has a role in the Yellowstone prequel series 1923. Scream 7...

The 2022 Peacock sci-fi mystery series The Resort ending explained many of its biggest questions while raising a few more. The Resort's main cast includes Cristin Milioti and William Jackson Harper as Emma and Noah, a couple celebrating their 10th wedding anniversary with a vacation at a luxury resort in the Yucatán. The show quickly makes clear that all is not well with the marriage, but the relationship is rekindled by the mystery of Sam (Skyler Gisondo) and Violet (Nina Bloomgarden), a teenage couple who went missing 15 years earlier.
What begins as a potential criminal conspiracy involving the immensely influential Frías family becomes a mind-bending temporal conundrum as the parallel stories of Violet and Sam and Emma and Noah become increasingly intertwined. In the finale of The Resort, all four characters reach the fabled Pasaje. It becomes an Eldorado for the grieving Violet in 2007 and the grieving Emma in the present day.

As Elizabeth Strafford in 1923 and Ainsley Norris in Landman, Michelle Randolph quickly became the secret weapon of both series created and executive produced by Taylor Sheridan for Paramount+. 1923, which returns for its second in February 2025, is the prequel to Yellowstone, and the sequel to 1883, charting the tumultuous rise of the Dutton family. Landman, which is one of Paramount+'s new hit series, is about the oil industry and is set in the boom towns of West Texas.
A Southern California native, Michelle Randolph's breakthrough film role was in the 2017 Syfy horror movie, House of the Witch. Coincidentally, Darren Mann played the boyfriend of Randolph's character, and they now play young lovers Jack Dutton and Elizabeth Strafford in 1923. The lead role in 2018's A Snow White Christmas and 2021's The Resort followed before Randolph got the opportunity to audition for Taylor Sheridan's Yellowstone prequel. If The Cat in the Hat ever receives another live-action adaptation, the powers that be should know who to cast as the titular Dr. Seuss character. Fan-favorite digital creator BossLogic has returned with a new piece of art that imagines The Penguin star Cristin Milioti as The Cat in the Hat.
After a behind-the-scenes image of Milioti from the set of The Penguin was shared online, a DC fan noted that the Sofia Falcone actor "low-key" looked like Dr. Seuss' The Cat in the Hat, who was previously played in live-action by Mike Myers in a 2003 adaptation that is widely regarded as one of the worst movies ever made. After BossLogic noticed the fan's comment, he was spurred into action, using his talents to transform Milioti into The Cat in the Hat. The final product is both hilarious and a bit unsettling. Check out Milioti as The Cat in the Hat below.

If you're still feeling down in the dumps over "The Batman Part II" being delayed a full year while Warner Bros. figures this DC s**t out, I come bearing good news. "The Penguin," a spin-off series centered on Colin Farrell's crime boss Oswald "Oz" Cobb, aka The Penguin, is coming later this year and it looks to serve as a quasi-sequel to Matt Reeves' Fincher-esque, noirish take on the Caped Crusader. This will also mark the second time the titular Batman villain's rise to power in Gotham City's criminal underworld has been covered on the small screen after "Gotham," a deliriously ridiculous show in which, at one point, one of the series' heroes uncovers a corpse in a refrigerator and immediately pops the cap off a nice cool beverage on the top shelf, reasoning, "If I don't drink it, forensics will."

Ferguson’s Ben Olinsky holds in a new Season 6 teaser shared by TVLine. “Are you family?” Offerman’s character asks John Goodman’s Dan Conner later in that promo. “I’ve never seen these people before in me life,” Dan responds, faking a Cockney accent, as Katey Sagal’s Louise looks on uneasily. Offerman is best known for playing grumpy government employee Ron Swanson on Parks and Recreation. Since the 2015 finale of that NBC comedy, the actor has starred in the TV shows Devs, Pam & Tommy, and The Resort. Offerman won an Emmy Award this month for his guest-starring part in The Last of Us’ debut season. In his Outstanding Guest Actor in a Drama Series acceptance speech,...

Nick Offerman's upcoming role in "Civil War" pays off a dark quote from his "Parks & Rec" character, Ron Swanson. Offerman's portrayal of the President in "Civil War" aligns with Ron Swanson's disdain for the government. Playing the President feels fitting for Offerman, given Ron Swanson's well-known hatred for the government.
Nick Offerman will star in Alex Garland’s upcoming movie Civil War, in which he will pay off a dark quote by his Parks & Recreation character, 15 years after the episode aired. Nick Offerman is best known for his comedy work, with his most notable role to date being Ron Swanson in the sitcom Parks & Recreation. Offerman’s performance stood out for his deadpan style and sarcastic lines, as well as for his hatred for the government (while he worked for it), love for meat, whiskey, and woodworking, and for hardly ever showing emotion aside from annoyance.

If cyberattacks and storms are any indication, writer-director Sam Esmail’s “Leave the World Behind” looks to expand upon the more lo-fi terrors of Rumaan Alam’s 2020 novel of the same name.
That’s surely helped by a big budget, as this is a Netflix production from the Obamas’ Higher Ground productions banner, plus major star backing: Julia Roberts, Mahershala Ali, Ethan Hawke, Kevin Bacon, plus “Industry” breakout actress Myha’la Herrold. In the book, an Airbnb vacation goes awry when an unknown apocalyptic event seems to shutter the world around the core characters.
Amanda (Julia Roberts) and her husband Clay (Ethan Hawke), rent a luxurious home for the weekend with their kids, Archie (Charlie Evans) and Rose (Farrah Mackenzie). Their vacation is soon upended when two strangers — G.H. (Mahershala Ali) and his daughter Ruth (Myha’la) — arrive in the night, bearing news of a mysterious cyberattack and seeking refuge...

The cast of The Resort is an eclectic mix of major stars and recognizable faces that help to make the Peacock original series such a compelling show. The Resort follows a couple on their Mayan Riviera vacation at the Oceana Vista resort who gets wrapped up in a mystery that involves disappearances from years past. Eschewing the typical approach to its mystery story, The Resort deftly blends humor into its narrative for an engrossing mixture of tension and laughs. Though very much plot-driven, the show also put its emphasis on its characters which not only made it more interesting but more engaging as well.
The Resort's first season polarized fans but was met with resounding approval from critics with particular praise being given to its lead actors and its jaunty approach to storytelling. The Resort joins a long list of original programming that has taken the streaming world by...

Ach der lieber! German Expressionism fans everywhere are in sorrow as Sam Esmail’s seven-years-in-the-making passion project, a series adaptation of Fritz Lang’s “Metropolis” has been shelved, Deadline confirms.
The series, from Universal Cable Productions (UCP), had been prepping for production in Australia and was expected to be the biggest TV series ever shot there. It was going to stream on Apple TV+, which had given it a full series order last year. “Push costs and uncertainty related to the ongoing strike led to this difficult decision,” a UCP told Deadline.
“Metropolis” is just the latest casualty of the ongoing WGA strike: the third seasons of “P-Valley” and “Yellowjackets” have been indefinitely delayed, as has the Disney+ show “Daredevil: Born Again” and Season 2 of “Severance.”
Esmail has had a flurry of new shows in recent years: Just since 2020 there’s been USA’s “Briarpatch,” Starz’s “Gaslit,” and Peacock’s “Angelyne” and “The Resort.

Spoiler Alert! This story contains plot points from the finale of 1923 on Paramount+.
The first season of 1923 ended Sunday with not one but three rather dismal developments: Spencer Dutton (Brendan Sklenar) and his wife Alex (Julia Schlaepfer) were torn apart at sea, Donald Whitfield (Timothy Dalton) told Jacob Dutton (Harrison Ford) that he pretty much owns him after having paid the property taxes on Yellowstone, and Elizabeth Dutton (Michelle Randolph) lost the first baby she conceived with her new husband Jack (Darren Mann). Leave it to creator Taylor Sheridan to keep things challenging and sad as hell in his Yellowstone-verse!
Here, actress Randolph — a relative newcomer whose credits include The Resort and The Undertaker’s Wife — talks about shooting that heartbreaking scene with Mann. She also reveals who she likes spending time with now that production has wrapped and what fans always want to talk about if they ever meet her on the street.

The ensemble for Academy Award nominee Ava DuVernay’s upcoming film “Caste” is growing more star-studded with the addition of Niecy Nash-Betts, Jon Bernthal, Vera Farmiga, Nick Offerman, Jasmine Cephas Jones and Connie Nielsen.
The six actors join Academy Award nominee Aunjanue Ellis, who was previously announced as the lead in the film inspired by Pulitzer Prize winner Isabel Wilkerson’s “Caste: The Origins of Our Discontents.” Described in The New York Times as “an instant American classic and almost certainly the keynote nonfiction book of the American century thus far,” the book — and subsequently DuVernay’s film — examines the system of hierarchy that has shaped America.
DuVernay writes, directs and produces the film alongside her longtime collaborator Array Filmworks’ Paul Garnes. “Caste” is currently in production in Georgia, financed by J4A.

As noted in our Best TV Shows list, there was just a lot of television in 2022. It’s so, so easy for great work to get lost in the relentless churn of new streaming content, even as reality programming bends us ever closer to the “30 Rock” universe. It’s even easier for great musical work to get lost on television, where scores are able to have an ambition and originality the rest of a legacy IP production might lack, or to embrace experimental elements viewers may not even notice while they’re watching a conventional-looking scene. We double-checked that film legends John Williams and Howard Shore came to TV to score themes this year, because it feels like a million years ago already now.
Speaking of legacies, Ramin Djawadi and Siddhartha Khosla pushed the boundaries of some of the most iconic recent scores on television even as “The House...

Surprisingly not titled A V/H/S Christmas, or as close to that as the lawyers would allow, The Christmas Tapes is an anthology film that reunites actor/producer Greg Sestero with Infrared’s writing/directing team Robert Livings and Randy Nundlall Jr.
The Christmas Tapes consists of four found footage segments and a wraparound in which a family, Bill, his wife Lisa and their kids Eli (Joshua Rose; Closure) and Rachel (Ruby Setnik; Sundays) have their Christmas Eve interpreted by a stranger (Greg Sestero). He holds them at gunpoint. Since Rachel is an aspiring filmmaker he has the perfect gift, four VHS tapes that should inspire her.

Andor showrunner Tony Gilroy reveals who will direct episodes for season 2. Rogue One: A Star Wars Story began the process of expanding the Star Wars universe under the Disney umbrella. Now that universe has expanded again thanks to the Disney+ Rogue One spinoff Andor.
But the expansion represented by Andor is not one of scale so much as tone. Before Andor, Star Wars lived in the realm of entertainment targeted at audiences of all age-groups, resulting in shows like The Mandalorian and Obi-Wan Kenobi. But now with Andor, Star Wars has proven that it can live in the adult prestige TV realm, telling complicated stories about morally ambiguous characters. And critics have noticed too, as evidenced by Andor season 1’s 92 Rotten Tomatoes score.
