Netflix’s German thriller series, Woman of the Dead, returns with a second season, and this time, once again, we witness Brunhilde Blum go to extreme lengths to protect her family. Trouble ensues when, after two years, the skeletons in the mortician’s closet are about to come tumbling out. Some unexpected legal trouble resulted in the exhumation of a body, and dismembered body parts of another corpse were discovered in the coffin. Since Blum’s connection with Edwin Schonborn was previously established (in season 1) as a result of some polaroids coming to light, the police suspected her involvement in the multiple murders that unfolded a couple of years ago. Even though Blum tried her best to move on and spend quality time with her family, her past continued to haunt her.

When creating The Lord of the Rings: The Two Towers, Peter Jackson, and his team had the difficult task of introducing the Rohirrim and getting the audience invested in their stories while simultaneously continuing the plot from The Lord of the Rings: The Fellowship of the Ring. It was crucial that the newly introduced characters had scenes to establish their motivations and personalities. Jackson clearly did an excellent job, as King Théoden, Éomer, and Éowyn quickly became fan favorites. One of how the film got viewers to care about the Rohirrim was by setting up character arcs that would not be paid off until the trilogy's final installment, The Lord of the Rings: The Return of the King. The horror genre possibly harbors the most valuable props you can think of. Freddy's glove, Leatherface's chainsaw and, why not, the cup used by the lady in Get Out to hypnotize Chris. Most horror movies have a specific object that fans would like to own. And as it turns out, you can actually buy one of horror's most precious objects:Evil Dead's Necronomicon, a.k.a. the Book of the Dead, which is activated upon reciting some incantations to summon the visciously playful and wicked demons from Sam Raimi's franchise.

Plenty of anime series feel cozy to watch in the warm light of day, such as cuddly slice-of-life anime and iyashikei, but the night calls for something else. When anime fans have darkness around them and the world is slower and quieter, it's time for a whole different kind of anime. To set the mood and embrace the night, anime fans might have fun with darker anime that would feel rather silly to watch on a sunny day.
It's common to watch horror movies and series at night, both to feel thematic and to see what's happening on the screen more clearly, and the same is true for anime. A variety of horror anime seem to come to life after the sun has set, and the same is true for other dark, serious anime with elements of psychological horror or other grim topics. Bruce Campbell first gained attention in the horror world when he starred as Ash Williams in the cult classic The Evil Dead in 1981. While the last two Evil Dead projects didn't feature Campbell on center stage, the actor has remained the face of the iconic horror franchise that Sam Raimi created. And though he has been in a number of movies and television shows since then, he'd still want to revisit the iconic character that helped shape him into the actor he is today. However, though the actor expressed his willingness to return to the Evil Dead realm, it is something he's only willing to do under one (understandable) condition.

Remarkably few fights in the JoJo's Bizarre Adventure anime are a one-sided beatdown, aside from Yoshikage Kira butchering Josuke's team before retreating, or Diavolo ambushing Bruno Bucciarati. For the most part, the JoJo's anime keeps the tension at maximum with evenly matched battles, with the Stand-wielding heroes giving it their all each time to narrowly defeat their sinister opponents in the major story arcs.
Best of all, these narrow fights are usually a good mix of brawn and brains, with the Joestar heroes and their many JoBro allies needing all their wits and resourceful thinking to stay in the fight when the enemy has the upper hand. That leads to some of shonen anime's most intense and suspenseful battles, often with a surprise, last-minute move to decide the fight once and for all. These particular clashes in JoJo's stand out as fine examples of how evenly matched the fighters tend to be.

With his recent passing at age 95, Gene Hackman left behind a legacy few other actors could match. Despite retiring over 20 years ago, Hackman still loomed large in American movie culture, a testament to his commanding screen presence and deep wells of humanity. His versatility meant that he could comfortably slot into any number of genres, and the '90s saw him step effortlessly into a run of westerns, beginning in 1992 with his Oscar-winning turn as a corrupt sheriff in Clint Eastwood's Unforgiven.
A few years later in 1995, Hackman took on another villainous western role in Sam Raimi's amped-up genre homage The Quick and the Dead, which recently celebrated its 30th anniversary. While the film flopped pretty hard upon release, it's come to be considered an underrated cult classic on the strength of Raimi's direction and strong performances from Hackman, Sharon Stone, Russell Crowe, and a 20-year-old Leonardo DiCaprio.

The two games in the Ori series, Ori And the Blind Forest and Ori and the Will of the Wispshave now collectively sold 15 million copies. The first title in the series was released in 2015 but developer Moon Studios had been working on it for four years before it officially launched. Ori predates the success of other major recent Metroidvania names like Hollow Knight, and Dead Cells, ushering in a new age for the genre.
The games' designer and director, Thomas Mahler, shared the momentous occasion on his X account. In the celebratory post, Mahler calls the milestone "not too shabby" for a game in a genre the developers were warned was "dead" when they began work on the first title.

Lauren Cohan is all on her lonesome in a brand-new peek at the highly-anticipated second season of The Walking Dead: Dead City. It’s long been teased that Cohan’s Maggie will be largely separated from Jeffrey Dean Morgan’s Negan for much of the follow-up set of episodes, and today’s fresh look follows suit. In it, we see Maggie doing what she does best — being a badass and leading groups of armed fighters against hordes of the undead. Catching glimpses of the action that awaits when the series returns on May 4, an especially important moment showcases Maggie embracing her son, Hershel (Logan Kim), with the young man being the reason for his mother’s latest adventure to the Big Dead Apple.

Supernatural is in a class of its own, following the charismatic Winchester brothers around the country as they take on ghosts, vampires, demons, and more, all while preventing the apocalypse—a few times. The cult fantasy series has been off the air for almost five years, and audiences are looking for something to fill that void. While no other show is quite like the beloved horror series, there are plenty of amazing fantasy shows—some with overlapping elements.
Supernatural's major themes include family, good versus evil, sacrifice, and perseverance. The series also has a darkly comedic tone and a killer soundtrack. There are some other great fantasy shows, old and new, that fans can watch to scratch the Supernatural itch.

Herb Greene, whose iconic photographs of the 1960 San Francisco rock scene captured the era’s superstars — Jefferson Airplane, Janis Joplin, The Grateful Dead, among others — in their prime, died March 3, at his home in Maynard, Massachusetts, following a long illness. He was 82.
His death was announced on Facebook by his wife Ilze Greene.
Born April 3, 1942, in Indio, CA, Greene had moved north with his family to Yuba City, where, in his final year of high school he took up photography. After high school, he attended San Francisco State University but left college for a job as staff photographer at the city’s high-end department store Joseph Magnin, where he took pictures of the fashions of the day including bell bottoms and miniskirts.

When a casual television viewer thinks of an action-packed crime show like NCIS, 'funny' may not be one of the adjectives that come to mind immediately. For over 20 years, NCIS has dominated the network TV airwaves with military-based crime-solving. The cases can be anything from basic homicides involving military personnel to espionage and terrorism cases.
With topics like this, it would be easy to imagine a gritty show devoid of humor. However, that is not true of NCIS. NCIS has no shortage of wacky hijinks and has a cast of quirky characters. Even in episodes that skew toward serious topics, NCIS is able to insert some hilarious moments to create a perfect balance.
"Marine Down" is Funny But Holds Back
"Marine Down" is one of the first episodes of NCIS. The series was still finding its footing and shaping its identity. NCIS was still unafraid to be itself and inject some humor into the episode.

And just like their decades of musical output, the Grateful Dead are unbeaten when it comes to merch. From the Stealie skull logo to Bertha to the dancing bears, the Grateful Dead have enough iconic images for three separate bands.

Dead Moneyarrived in 2024 with very little fanfare and flew under the radar with many people. The 2024 poker-based thriller was panned by critics on its limited theatrical and VOD release, which meant that many audiences either ignored it, or slept on it thanks to the lackluster response and its lack of big A-lister star names. The Emile Hirschmovie, which also stars Rory Culkin and Jackie Earle Haley, has now been dealt a better hand thanks to its arrival on Hulu.

Gene Hackman, the two-time Academy Award-winning actor known for his roles in films like The French Connection and Unforgiven, has died at the age of 95.
Hackman, his wife Betsy, and their dog were found dead at their home in New Mexico on Wednesday after deputies performed a welfare check, according to CNN. While there were no visible signs of foul play, investigators deemed their deaths “suspicious” after finding “no obvious signs of a gas leak” and the front door of their home “unsecured and opened.”
Hackman was born in San Bernardino, California on January 30th, 1930. Lying about his age, he enlisted in the Marine Corps when he was just 16, serving four years as a field radio operator before being stationed in China, Hawaii, and Japan. He was discharged in 1951.
As he began to pursue an acting career, Hackman joined the historic Pasadena Playhouse, where he met fellow aspiring actor Dustin Hoffman.

In Dead Letter Dept., players assume the role of a Data Conversion Operator, transcribing addresses and fragmented letters as their daily work.
Initially, the job appears routine, but soon, unsettling and cryptic messages surface from the mail, transforming this ordinary office task into a psychological horror experience. Situated within the indie horror genre, the game eschews traditional jump scares, instead creating tension through atmospheric storytelling.
The game starts with a seemingly normal routine, gradually building to a series of peculiar events. The horror emerges through subtle disturbances infiltrating the protagonist’s workspace.
Focusing on a repetitive, low-stakes task like data entry heightens the sense of unease. Multiple narrative paths provide players with varied experiences, with each playthrough uncovering different story elements.

Dead Letter Dept. presents a deceptively straightforward premise. Players type incomplete or damaged addresses and letter fragments on an old computer terminal.
