The 100 Girlfriends Who Really, Really, Really, Really, Really Love You is one of the most clever and creatively brilliant modern anime, which is ironic to say not only because of its wacky title and premise but also because of the genre it belongs in. At its core, the harem romance genre is inherently absurd — the concept of a random average high schooler with no unique traits or qualities being so desirable and attractive to a group of girls that they all fight amongst each other and get caught up with the protagonist in various lewd scenarios in the hope of one of them eventually becoming his girlfriend is as much of a wish fulfillment escapist fiction as isekai and power fantasy anime. Yet that absurdity is exactly what makes this genre so endearing and popular. The best harem anime are the ones that either embrace the wackiness or channel it...

Beloved harem High School DxD is finally getting a follow-up after 10 years. High School DxD is considered the premier example of the harem genre, especially its fan-service-oriented cohort. Many harem anime will dabble with ecchi, but High School DxD commits to the bit in a way unparalleled except by a select few choices which—aside from a handful of influential oddities like To Love Ru and Rosario + Vampire—have much worse stories. As far as fan service-focused series go, High School DxD is one of the top recent titles.
Love it or hate it, the blend of unabashed fanservice with a workable story, eye-catching color/animation, and solid music has been High School DxD's niche. Martin's assessment of High School DxD is as true now as when the review was first published in 2013, although some series are trying to change up the controversial harem formula. As for High School DxD,...

Shaman King officially has a new series in the works. Hiroyuki Takei's Shaman King is a cult classic shōnen which has over time received two sequels in Shaman King: Flowers and Shaman King: The Super Star. The series stands as one of the most unique battle shōnen available today, in part due to Takei's interest in nonviolence and Buddhism. It follows the story of a shaman boy, Yoh Asakura, who fights to become Shaman King—effectively a god—alongside his young fiancée, renowned spirit medium Asakura Anna.
The series has an undeniable charm, tracing Yoh and Anna's steps as they gather a troupe of friends (flesh and spirit alike), eventually taking the confrontation with Yoh's brother, Hao, as a priority. Shaman King has maintained a steady following since its initial debut in 1998. Starting with the sequel series, Shaman King Flowers, focus has shifted to Yoh and Anna's son, Hana.

The 30th anniversary should be a grand celebration for any series. Although, the same can’t be said about Rurouni Kenshin, given its creator’s controversial track record. A few years back, Nobuhiro Watsuki landed himself in some serious controversies. His actions were severe enough to have charges placed against him.

With a recent development, many renowned mangaka including Eiichiro Oda and Masashi Kishimoto are at the brunt of severe backlash for associating with Watsuki. Their association could be labeled as a mere obligatory gesture, but that doesn’t seem to be the case entirely.

The Blue Box anime promises to blend romantic comedy and sports, promising a unique and appealing combination. The series has a strong readership as a manga, indicating potential for success as an anime adaptation. Blue Box faces competition from other Shonen Jump series in 2024, but its originality and charm set it apart.
Shonen Jump continues to dominate popular anime discourse, with a handful of new anime coming later in 2024, but one that's sure to turn heads will be Blue Box. Kouji Mori's modern smash hit is a break from typical shonen tradition in terms of anime adaptations, not just because it's not action-oriented, but because it has true potential as a romantic comedy/sports anime. While multiple anime have been able to become iconic hits in either genre, Blue Box already has a strong readership as a manga, with a broader appeal than almost any other upcoming Shonen Jump anime.

The artist behind Darling in the Franxx has provided new cover art featuring the Androids from Dragon Ball Z. This is one of the many redesigns being featured by the Dragon Ball Super Project Gallery commemorating the series' upcoming anniversary. The eighteenth cover reimagines the thirty-first volume of the manga.
On Twitter, Shonen Jump News shared the eighteenth redesign in the Dragon Ball Super Project Gallery. It is illustrated by Kentaro Yabuki, the artist of To Love Ru and Darling in the Franxx, and creator of Ayakashi Triangle. It alters the composition, shifting some of the original elements of the cover around, though it keeps the majority of them. The car is still included with Dragon Ball Volume 31's number on it. Androids 16, 17, and 18 are still present on the cover. However, now there is a snowy backdrop and Cell's first Dragon Ball form is nowhere to be seen.
