Arch Enemy have announced their 12th studio album, Blood Dynasty, set for release March 28th, 2025, via Century Media Records.
The album news comes after the veteran metal band released the surprise single “Dream Stealer” at the end of July. That tune will be one of 11 tracks on Blood Dynasty.
Founding Arch Enemy guitarist Michael Amott stated, “This new album pushes the boundaries of what we’ve done before — it’s everything you’ve come to expect from this band, and then some! We can’t wait for you to hear it and feel the energy we’ve poured into every track. Welcome to the Blood Dynasty!”
Along with Amott, the band is rounded out by singer Alissa White-Gluz, bassist Sharlee D’Angelo, drummer Daniel Erlandsson, and new guitarist Joey Concepcion (who took over the spot vacated by Jeff Loomis in 2023).

Exclusive: Channel 4 has axed its splashy version of U.S. survival format Alone after one season.
The series from Squid Game: The Challenge producer The Garden, which has aired in the U.S. for a decade, has been one of a handful under consideration for a second series recommission over the past few months, we understand. Producers had been preparing for a second season.
In Alone, 11 contestants are dropped into the remote Canadian Wilderness, where each must survive entirely on their own. Eventual winner Tom Williams took home the £100,000 in September 2023 after battling the elements, wild animals and an extreme test of mental strength. The show had been unveiled by Channel 4 in August 2022 alongside The Traitors-esque format Rise and Fall.

Lauren Mayberry of Chvrches has unveiled her first solo single “Are You Awake?”
The Scottish singer-songwriter co-wrote the melancholic ballad with reigning Grammy Songwriter of the Year Tobias Jesso Jr. as well as pop-punk artist Matthew Koma, who added finishing touches to the delicate arrangement.
In a video prefacing the song’s release, Mayberry shared that “Are You Awake?” was a “happy accident” and fittingly came together on “a grey, rainy afternoon in December” when she was feeling “pretty homesick and missing everyone.” Luckily, she found a kindred spirit in native Canadian Jesso Jr as “people who are not from America living in America.” Stream the single below.
Mayberry is set to embark on her first solo headlining trek in September, along with support dates for The Postal Service and Death Cab For Cutie’s joint tour. Check for tickets to all of her upcoming shows via here,

Get ready to delve into The Music of Heatmiser. The Portland band best known as Elliott Smith’s pre-solo career springboard has announced a new rarities compilation arriving October 6th via Third Man Records, and a demo version of the track “Lowlife” is out now.
Heatmiser initially distributed The Music of Heatmiser — then a 6-song cassette — at local record stores and shows to promote the band before they released their 1993 debut LP, Dead Air. According to co-founding singer-guitarist Neil Gust, this longer package — featuring 23 additional demos, live tracks, rare versions, and previously unreleased songs — came together thanks to drummer Tony Lash.
“Tony found a bunch of forgotten recordings and started mixing them and sending them to me,” Gust said in a statement. “We were struck by the freewheeling energy of the band; you could hear how much fun we were having. In 1992 we could barely afford the studio so it...

Halloween is almost here, and it's time to get those spooky playlists in order. The Disney Channel is known for its themed episodes and movies. For example, the first original movie to be made exclusively by and released on the channel was a Halloween movie, and The Suite Life Of Zack & Cody's "Ghost In Suite 613" serves as an annual meme.
Many of these frightful and delightful episodes and films feature original songs performed by the cast. Some are better than others and deserve to be included on every Halloween playlist.
Don’t Look Down - Austin & Ally Performed By Ross Lynch & Laura Marano
During one of the best Disney Channel Halloween episodes of all time, Austin & Ally write and perform this song at a costume party. Austin is supposed to perform with Taylor Swift, but when she gets hurt, Ally pretends to be her. Despite her stage fright, Ally performs "Don't Look Down" with her friend.

"He said just the words you needed to be happy." Peccadillo Pictures in the UK has released an official UK trailer for a French drama titled Don't Look Down, which already opened in France last year. Don’t Look Down is the latest offering from the French directing duo Olivier Ducastel & Jacques Martineau. In a high-rise apartment, a woman and four men gather to share their experiences of a man that they have all been involved with, to their cost. In the main room, they talk, drink, dance, while one by one, each goes next door for a private moment of truth. Starring Geoffrey Couet, Manika Auxire, Simon Frenay, Francois Nambot, and Lawrence Valin. It looks like a conceptual drama attempting to address sexual abuse and how it can happen to anyone. This has a some cool visuals, not sure about the rest. Here's the full UK trailer (+ French poster) for...

Amid the cinema closures, redundancies and cancellations across the U.K. due to the coronavirus pandemic, institutions big and small are exploring myriad ways to stay in business — some more controversial than others.
Genesis, an independent cinema in East London, remained open until Prime Minister Boris Johnson ordered all cinemas and theaters to shut down Friday to prevent the spread of coronavirus.
Cinema director Tyrone Walker-Hebborn tells Variety that Genesis stayed open in order to “offer a moment of entertainment and escapism” during the crisis. Walker-Hebborn was personally on site every day to manage and assess the situation on a daily basis while the cinema was open.
Genesis took precautions by halving its capacity due to social distancing requirements, advising staff to self-isolate if they displayed any coronavirus symptoms, and requiring all customers and staff to wash their hands for at least 20 seconds. At any given time, only 3.5% of the cinema was occupied.

Okay, guys, the jig is up. You're just picking random movies out of a box to remake, aren't you? And that box is a box of DVDs at a WalMart, home to popular movies that no one really cares about, and one of them is Cliffhanger. Cliffhanger, probably the ninth or tenth most beloved Sylvester Stallone film, is up for a redo, because Cliffhanger is somehow a marketable title that brings back memories of an unforgettable theatrical experience. And now, the new Cliffhanger has a writer, which suggests some strong forward momentum on the project. Hold on tight. Don't look down. Deadline reports that Joe Gazzam, a terrific magician's name, is onboard to script the redo. Gazzam has no official writing credits to his name aside from the spec script Shadow Run, but apparently he made a pitch for the remake that trumped any other ideas from competing screenwriters. OneRepublic, "Native" (Mosley Music Group/Interscope Records)
OneRepublic continues to show that the group's musical rapport is as strong as ever on their third album, "Native."
Frontman Ryan Tedder's falsetto is superb throughout the new offering, which bleeds with emotion and substance. He and his four bandmates are completely in sync.
Tedder, who has written and produced singles for music's biggest acts, from Adele to Beyonce, shines with star appeal alongside a variety of instruments that are smoothly intertwined, ranging from the acoustic guitar to drums. The 12-track album is filled with refreshing and catchy songs: That's certainly evident when the album kicks off with the well-crafted opening track, "Counting Stars," and first single, "If I Lose Myself," co-produced by hit-maker Benny Blanco.

Directors say ceremony is about challenging perceptions and will be very different from Danny Boyle's
Those behind the Paralympic opening ceremony have revealed it will feature Sir Ian McKellen, Prof Stephen Hawking, and the "world's biggest apple crunch" as part of a "unique and extraordinary piece of work about challenging our perceptions".
Stephen Daldry, who is overseeing all four Olympic ceremonies, said the ceremony – titled Enlightenment and directed by Jenny Sealey and Bradley Hemmings – was very different from the Olympics ceremonies.
"If Danny Boyle's was very much about two revolutions and popular culture and Kim Gavin's was very much about a symphony of British music, then what you will get from Jenny and Bradley is something very different," said the Billy Elliot director.
Sealey, the director of the country's leading disability theatre company, said she and Hemmings were feeling "very slightly nervous, terrified and excited" about the ceremony,...

Despite all the potential remakes in Hollywood, none was greeted with more jaw-dropping outrage than "Dirty Dancing."
The movie's star, Patrick Swayze, tragically lost the battle with cancer in 2009 and while it seems that no one is forgetting the movie or Swayze's part in it, now his most iconic role is immortalized for all to see.
A new wax statue of the star was added at Madame Tussauds in Hollywood, portraying the famous "Dirty Dancing" log walking moment.
Swayze's wife, Lisa Niemi, debuted the statue Wednesday night. She even put on her best Jennifer Grey and posed alongside the image of her husband.
Though two years had passed since Swayze's death, Niemi felt honored to christen the statue. "It became clear to me that someone had put a lot of love into this, for a man I loved so very much," she told People.
She was very pleased with the style of the statue,...

Los Angeles -- Talk about a Tko.
Legendary boxer Sugar Ray Leonard was knocked out of the "Dancing With the Stars" ballroom Tuesday – one night after earning his highest scores on the hit ABC show.
Leonard and his professional partner, Anna Trebunskaya, collected 21 points out of 30 for their Viennese waltz on Monday's episode, but viewers failed to keep them as contenders in the competition.
Judges' scores are combined with viewer votes to determine which celebrity is ousted each week.
"That's life, and I put up a good fight," Leonard said. "I will cherish this moment: great friends, great people, great show."
Host Tom Bergeron called the 54-year-old Olympian "the heart of the show this season."
Trebunskaya said she and Leonard had fun together.
"The boxer became a ballet dancer!" she said.

Jennifer Hudson can sing. And that really stands out on a dance competition show.
The "Idol" contestant turned Oscar winner performed two songs from her new album "I Remember Me" on Tuesday's "Dancing with the Stars."
First, Hudson -- totally kicking it in a fab purple mini dress and a pair of matching heels -- belted out the up-tempo "Don't Look Down" as Karina Smirnoff and Louis Van Amstel did their best to distract us. It didn't work. J-Hud had us at hello.
Later in the show, she was back -- still in the purple frock (points for no diva-esque costume change) -- to sing "Feeling Good," a retro-y big band number that slowed down the pace and has us ready to download "I Remember Me."...

Plenty of people have opinions about Kanye West, but relatively few can say they formed them by being part of the rapper/producer's inner circle. Big Sean has been running with Kanye since the Chicago hip-hop superstar was recording his third album, 2007's Graduation.
Yesterday on "RapFix Live," the 2010 Xxl magazine Freshmen alum spoke about the trepidation he felt when he first started working with Yeezy. "Being around a legend like that is nerve-racking," Big Sean told MTV News. "It seemed like everything I brought him he would always be like, 'Man come on, you need to do better, you need to do this,' like when I first signed to him. I was always nervous, like, 'Dang, he's going to drop me, he think I'm wack.

A week before Jennifer Hudson's new album "I Remember Me" arrives in stores, all of the songs in the CD were made available for free stream on AOL. Twelve in total, the new songs range from slow-riding tracks like "Where You At" to disco-tinged songs such as "Don't Look Down".
She plans to release the new album in the United States on March 22. The title is based on her poem which was later composed into a song and co-written by OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder. It represents her journey through the ups and downs. "I named it I Remember Me because I feel like in 29 years I have lead over four different lives," she said.
"And the album is helping to remember the old stuff and celebrate the new. It is a disc of everything I've been through. I don't have much from my old stuff to grasp at, so the...

Tantric voyage of discovery or soft-focus skin flick? Leo Owen decides...
Art-house Argentinian film, Don't Look Down picked up awards at the Montreal World Festival and Guadalajara Mexican Film Festival. While it's verging on soft porn and full of self-indulgent lingering shots, some beautiful cinematography and quotable lines, make it a worthy watch.
Our protagonist, Eloy, claims “Nothing interesting ever happened to me before I met Elvira” which is certainly true of his genitalia. Prior to Elvira, his father's death triggered sleepwalking so his brother built a “ghost catcher” to try to wake him up. Instead, his nightly stroll takes a different route and one fateful night he falls into a neighbour's skylight landing on her bed.
