Arch Enemy have announced their 12th studio album, Blood Dynasty, set for release March 28th, 2025, via Century Media Records.

The album news comes after the veteran metal band released the surprise single “Dream Stealer” at the end of July. That tune will be one of 11 tracks on Blood Dynasty.

Founding Arch Enemy guitarist Michael Amott stated, “This new album pushes the boundaries of what we’ve done before — it’s everything you’ve come to expect from this band, and then some! We can’t wait for you to hear it and feel the energy we’ve poured into every track. Welcome to the Blood Dynasty!”

Along with Amott, the band is rounded out by singer Alissa White-Gluz, bassist Sharlee D’Angelo, drummer Daniel Erlandsson, and new guitarist Joey Concepcion (who took over the spot vacated by Jeff Loomis in 2023).

Jeff Nichols’ crime drama The Bikeriders drives into 702 cinemas at this weekend’s UK-Ireland box office, through Universal.

The sixth feature from US filmmaker Nichols follows the members of the Vandals motorcycle club as it transforms into a dangerous underworld of violence. 2015 Screen Star of Tomorrow Jodie Comer leads the cast alongside Austin Butler, Tom Hardy, Michael Shannon and Mike Faist.

The Bikeriders debuted at Telluride in August last year, going on to play BFI London Film Festival and Sydney among others.

Nichols’ highest-grossing feature was his one-before-last, 2016’s Midnight Special, which opened to £466,055 at a £1,165 average and finished on almost £1.2m.

Lauren Mayberry of Chvrches has unveiled her first solo single “Are You Awake?”

The Scottish singer-songwriter co-wrote the melancholic ballad with reigning Grammy Songwriter of the Year Tobias Jesso Jr. as well as pop-punk artist Matthew Koma, who added finishing touches to the delicate arrangement.

In a video prefacing the song’s release, Mayberry shared that “Are You Awake?” was a “happy accident” and fittingly came together on “a grey, rainy afternoon in December” when she was feeling “pretty homesick and missing everyone.” Luckily, she found a kindred spirit in native Canadian Jesso Jr as “people who are not from America living in America.” Stream the single below.

Get ready to delve into The Music of Heatmiser. The Portland band best known as Elliott Smith’s pre-solo career springboard has announced a new rarities compilation arriving October 6th via Third Man Records, and a demo version of the track “Lowlife” is out now.

Heatmiser initially distributed The Music of Heatmiser — then a 6-song cassette — at local record stores and shows to promote the band before they released their 1993 debut LP, Dead Air. Amid the cinema closures, redundancies and cancellations across the U.K. due to the coronavirus pandemic, institutions big and small are exploring myriad ways to stay in business — some more controversial than others.

Genesis, an independent cinema in East London, remained open until Prime Minister Boris Johnson ordered all cinemas and theaters to shut down Friday to prevent the spread of coronavirus.

Cinema director Tyrone Walker-Hebborn tells Variety that Genesis stayed open in order to “offer a moment of entertainment and escapism” during the crisis. Walker-Hebborn was personally on site every day to manage and assess the situation on a daily basis while the cinema was open.

Genesis took precautions by halving its capacity due to social distancing requirements, advising staff to self-isolate if they displayed any coronavirus symptoms, and requiring all customers and staff to wash their hands for at least 20 seconds. At any given time, only 3.5% of the cinema was occupied.

The BFI Flare: London Lgbtiq+ Film Festival is to make a raft of titles and live Q&As available online following its cancellation on Monday due to the coronavirus pandemic.

BFI Flare at Home will host several features and shorts that were due to screen at the festival on BFI Player from March 20-29.

New titles will include Levan Akin’s Cannes award-winner And Then We Danced; Olivier Ducastel and Jacques Martineau’s chamber piece Don’t Look Down; and Daniel Karslake’s documentary For They Know Not What They Do.

The BBC One drama attracted an average audience of 9.61 million (36.1%) at 8pm, up from last year's opener of 9.32m.

Earlier, Countryfile Winter appealed to 7.05m (29.5%) at 7pm, while The Musketeers launched to an impressive 7.41m (28.9%) at 9pm.

On ITV, Mr Selfridge returned to 4.85m (18.9%) at 9pm, with an added 415,000 (2.4%) on +1. This is down around 2 million from last year's premiere episode, and down around 500k from its previous episode in March.

BBC Two's Masters Snooker final scored 2.15m (8.5%) at 7pm, followed by a Top Gear repeat with 1.11m (4.8%) at 9.15pm.

OneRepublic continues to show that the group's musical rapport is as strong as ever on their third album, "Native."

Frontman Ryan Tedder's falsetto is superb throughout the new offering, which bleeds with emotion and substance. He and his four bandmates are completely in sync.

Tedder, who has written and produced singles for music's biggest acts, from Adele to Beyonce, shines with star appeal alongside a variety of instruments that are smoothly intertwined, ranging from the acoustic guitar to drums. Directors say ceremony is about challenging perceptions and will be very different from Danny Boyle's

Those behind the Paralympic opening ceremony have revealed it will feature Sir Ian McKellen, Prof Stephen Hawking, and the "world's biggest apple crunch" as part of a "unique and extraordinary piece of work about challenging our perceptions".

Stephen Daldry, who is overseeing all four Olympic ceremonies, said the ceremony – titled Enlightenment and directed by Jenny Sealey and Bradley Hemmings – was very different from the Olympics ceremonies.

"If Danny Boyle's was very much about two revolutions and popular culture and Kim Gavin's was very much about a symphony of British music, then what you will get from Jenny and Bradley is something very different," said the Billy Elliot director.

Legendary boxer Sugar Ray Leonard was knocked out of the "Dancing With the Stars" ballroom Tuesday – one night after earning his highest scores on the hit ABC show.

Leonard and his professional partner, Anna Trebunskaya, collected 21 points out of 30 for their Viennese waltz on Monday's episode, but viewers failed to keep them as contenders in the competition.

Judges' scores are combined with viewer votes to determine which celebrity is ousted each week.

"That's life, and I put up a good fight," Leonard said. "I will cherish this moment: great friends, great people, great show."

Host Tom Bergeron called the 54-year-old Olympian "the heart of the show this season."

Trebunskaya said she and Leonard had fun together.

First, Hudson -- totally kicking it in a fab purple mini dress and a pair of matching heels -- belted out the up-tempo "Don't Look Down" as Karina Smirnoff and Louis Van Amstel did their best to distract us. It didn't work. J-Hud had us at hello.

Dancing with the Stars will celebrate its first-ever classical theme week tonight, as the remaining nine couples perform dances to traditional and modern classical music. The celebrities and professional dancers will be accompanied by a 46-piece orchestra, conducted by Dancing with the Stars bandleader Harold Wheeler. Katherine Jenkins and violinist David Garrett will also be providing musical backup during the couples' routines on tonight's ABC live show. The classical theme will continue on tomorrow night's results show, as the first Macy's Stars of Dance showcase of the season will feature ballet dancers Lorena and Lorna Feijóo and Jose Manuel Carreño performing a specially choreographed routine from Swan Lake. Plenty of people have opinions about Kanye West, but relatively few can say they formed them by being part of the rapper/producer's inner circle. Big Sean has been running with Kanye since the Chicago hip-hop superstar was recording his third album, 2007's Graduation.

Yesterday on "RapFix Live," the 2010 Xxl magazine Freshmen alum spoke about the trepidation he felt when he first started working with Yeezy. "Being around a legend like that is nerve-racking," Big Sean told MTV News. "It seemed like everything I brought him he would always be like, 'Man come on, you need to do better, you need to do this,' like when I first signed to him. I was always nervous, like, 'Dang, he's going to drop me, he think I'm wack.

A week before Jennifer Hudson's new album "I Remember Me" arrives in stores, all of the songs in the CD were made available for free stream on AOL. Twelve in total, the new songs range from slow-riding tracks like "Where You At" to disco-tinged songs such as "Don't Look Down".

She plans to release the new album in the United States on March 22. The title is based on her poem which was later composed into a song and co-written by OneRepublic's Ryan Tedder. It represents her journey through the ups and downs. "I named it I Remember Me because I feel like in 29 years I have lead over four different lives," she said.

The Burbank International Film Festival is now in day three. Here's a run down of today's events.

The day kicks off at 10:30 Am at the AMC 6 theater in Burbank with a feature film called Tracy by Dan Scanlon. The mockumentary focuses on the mysterious shooting of 1970's childrens' show host.

For the remainder of the day, more than 35 films will be screened at three venues. The offerings will include several features, shorts, and social justice documentaries. A complete list of all films and times for the day is printed below.
