Gary Sinise himself, played the role of one of the astronauts from the Apollo 13 movie. He played Ken Mattingly in the movie, in real life as in the movie Mattingly was bumped from the Apollo 13 mission three days prior to liftoff because of possible exposure to German measles. He later flew on Apollo 16 and two space shuttle missions.
