David O. Russell is bringing in Robert De Niro and Julianne Moore for a new cop series, which doesn't have a title or a network yet...
Robert De Niro will be transitioning to the small screen for his next collaboration with David O. Russell.
De Niro - who previously popped up in Russell’s films Silver Linings Playbook and Joy - has signed up to star alongside Julianne Moore, in a serialized limited TV series that is expected to hit the marketplace later this month. That is to say, potential broadcasters will be trying to buy it. Lots of them, we'd wager, with all of that talent involved.
There aren’t many details about the project, which is being produced by Scott Lambert, Alexandra Milchan and Megan Ellison. Rumours say it will be a crime thriller set in the 1990s that is designed to run for multiple seasons.

After a flirtation with a television series, it turns out that David O. Russell just wasn't able to commit.
The Oscar-nominated writer/director has left the ABC drama he co-wrote and was set to executive produce with Susannah Grant, Deadline reports. The series, now titled "The Club," received a straight-to-series order in late January, becoming Russell's first major foray into TV work, outside executive producing the short-lived Syfy comedy "Outer Space Astronauts" in 2009.
Russell's exit from "The Club," an upstairs-downstairs soap set at a country club, will not affect the series order. In fact, the drama has cast its first actor. Callie Hernandez ("Sin City 2") will play Ana, an employee of the club who secretly steals expensive items from her workplace and pawns them for cash.
Following his case of TV cold feet, Russell is expected to refocus on film, full-time.
Are you disappointed Russell will no longer be...

"Friday Night Lights" airs its series finale on Wednesday (Feb. 9), and though the show finished filming last summer, its two leads -- Connie Britton and Kyle Chandler -- have taken their time deciding what they want to do next.
Chandler is still unattached, but it appears Britton has found her next project. According to TVLine, Britton -- an Emmy nominee for "Fnl" last year -- is working with "The Fighter" director David O. Russell on a drama project for FX. That's about all the detail that's available right now, as things sound as though they're in the very early stages of development.
The project would be Britton's first cable series and the first series for Russell as a creator (he was an executive producer of Syfy's animated comedy "Outer Space Astronauts").
Britton was said to be one of the more in-demand actresses this pilot season, and she's on a lot...
