Enjoying the award-winning success of his latest television series, The Affair, Dominic West is set to capitalize on that exposure by joining the high profile Money Monster – a dramatic thriller to be directed by Jodie Foster, for TriStar Pictures. The script for the movie comes from Alan Difiore (The Bridge), Jim Kouf (Grimm) and Jamie Linden (10 Years), and has George Clooney pulling double duty as producer and star.
Clooney will play Lee Gates – the influential host of a stock investment television show, who gets a report wrong and causes a previously buoyant stock to plummet. An unhappy, armed investor forces his way into the studio while the show is live on air, and threatens the life of the host – demanding he undo the damage he has done and make the stock rise back to profitable levels before the closing bell.

Agents of Shield, Season 1, Episode 10, “The Bridge”
Written by Shalisha Francis
Directed by Holly Dale
Airs Tuesdays at 8pm Est on ABC
“The Bridge” is the first season’s hastily-constructed bridge from the pilot episode to the end of the season. It gives the illusion that the season has been building to a confrontation with Project Centipede when it has really meandered with single episode story arcs and false trails. Mike Peterson (J. August Richards) returns for the first time since the pilot and gives the team what it has been sorely lacking, which is a superhero. Coulson and his team have encountered super-human abilities and even tangled with an Asgardian, but the point of Shield as an organization is to protect mankind and provide superheroes like Captain America with what they need to save the world. Without a central figure to rally around, the team lacks a strong direction,...

(Cbr) It's definitely been an eventful first few months for "Marvel's Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D.," the ABC series set in the same world as Marvel Studios' phenomenally profitable films. While the ratings for the highly hyped show started strong and have remained solid, fan and critical reaction has been mixed at best, with responses including TV Guide dubbing the show "this season's biggest disappointment." "Agents of S.H.I.E.L.D." hits a benchmark with this week's "The Bridge," hitting both episode No. 10 and its first midseason finale. The episode, written by Shalisha Francis and directed by Holly Dale, is headlined by the first appearance...

Premiering tonight on TNT is Perception, the next in a long line of procedurals where a by-the-book law enforcement agent is paired with a nutty nut-nut who brings a new perspective to cases and helps us learn to laugh about love again (The X-Files, Law & Order: Criminal Intent, even House–you get the idea). In the case of Perception, we have late-’90s sweetface Rachael Leigh Cook, a name I’ve given little thought to since I worked at a video store in my early 20s. I can’t really form an opinion on her, therefore (not that that’s ever stopped me), but given that Anna Chlumsky has managed through Veep to get me to take her seriously, I don’t see why Cook couldn’t do the same. CTV and Bromell are working on the development of a TV series that focuses on the personal and professional life of members of a police drug squad.

Last summer, CBS started running The Bridge, a cop drama that the network had licensed from Canada. CBS apparently had little faith in the series since they began airing it on Saturday nights with little promotion. To no surprise, the ratings were terrible. CBS pulled The Bridge off the schedule after three episodes, leaving 10 unaired.
In Canada, it was a different story. CTV ran all of the installments of Bridge between March and May 2010. It was successful enough for CTV to renew the show for season two.
Now, it seems Bridge won't get a second season after all. According to THR, CTV, Entertainment One, and series creator Craig Bromell have mutually agreed not to to proceed with year two. Toronto -- CBS has pulled the Canadian cop drama "The Bridge" from E1 Entertainment after three episodes on air.
"Bridge" co-producer Craig Bromell told the Canadian Press wire-service Thursday that CBS yanked the Toronto-shot series from its Saturday night summer lineup for "reasons of fall scheduling."
"They said: 'We're going to pull the show.' They never said to us they're going to cancel it," Bromell added.
Representatives at E1 Entertainment weren't available for comment at press time.
CBS will replace "The Bridge" with reruns of "Cold Case" at 8 p.m.
CTV, which debuted the Canadian cop drama before CBS finally aired the series on its summer schedule, has ordered a second season of the homegrown drama.
Bromell told the Canadian wire service that the U.S. network paid for all 13 episodes of the first season upfront.

CBS recently unveiled a new show called The Bridge. Never heard of it? You're not alone and you just know that doesn't bode well for the TV show's future.
The Bridge revolves around a tough and dedicated cop who's voted to become the police union's leader. Officer Frank Leo (Aaron Douglas) ends up fighting crime on the streets while also battling corruption on the force. The series features Douglas, Frank Cassini, Michael Murphy, Ona Grauer, Paul Popowich, and Theresa Joy.
The TV show debuted on Saturday night with two episodes. Per the overnights, the first episode attracted an invisible 0.5 rating in the 18-49 demographic and just 2.98 million viewers. It was easily beaten by repeats of Cops and America's Funniest Home Videos.

Toronto -- Credit Los Angeles agents and distributors with the heavy lifting behind recent U.S. network deals for Canadian series like CBS' "Flashpoint" and NBC's "Howie Do It."
"All roads lead through Hollywood, whether it's for packaging, financing, distribution, and everyone needs an advocate physically based in Hollywood," says agent Charles Lenhoff at Lenhoff & Lenhoff, who has represented Canadian A-listers on his roster since the 1980s.
Much as last year's Hollywood writers strike opened a door into U.S. primetime for series from the Great White North, Canadian producers have relied on Los Angeles handlers to keep their foot in the door at the studios.
Sure, the creative for upcoming series like NBC's "The Listener" and CBS' "The Bridge" was spawned in Canada, and that's where the recognizably Canadian series get made with tax credits and other local incentives.
But it's local agents and distributors that have helped guide...

E1, which this week sold "Copper," another of its cop dramas, to ABC, has "Shattered" in development as a pilot at Canadian broadcaster Global Television and set for a Canadian series pickup.
John Morayniss, president of E1 Television, said "Shattered" has been shopped to the U.S. networks and a deal is expected before long.
The pilot for the cop drama from Force Four Films and E1 featured Callum Keith Rennie as a damaged recluse who solves crimes using his multiple-personality disorder.
Billed as " 'CSI' meets 'A Beautiful Mind,' the "Shattered" pilot also starred Laura Jordan as a special investigator who teams up with Kyle Logan (Rennie).
Debra Beard and Hugh Beard of Force Four and E1's Noreen Halpern, John Morayniss and Laszlo Barna produced the pilot,...
