Good, but it pulls it's punches

I thought BOTW was great. It had a lot of subtlety in the characterizations. It didn't shy away letting things be sad. AOC feels like they underestimate their audience and not giving them a happily ever after. It felt like fan fiction in that way.

Beyond that the characterization really suffers because many times something meaningful could happen someone interrupts with a joke or something. It interrupts and doesn't let some of the main characters interact in a meaningful way.

This is only the second Zelda with speaking cutscenes and it's becoming really obvious that Link just needs to be able to talk, or at least emote more.

Gameplay was way fun though!

Trivia
Terrako, Sooga, and Astor are all original characters who never appeared in "Breath of the Wild". However, Nintendo did help oversee the development process and therefore had control over their designs.

Goofs
King Dorephan is shown having scars on his forehead, which "Breath of the Wild" states he got during the Great Calamity fighting a corrupted Guardian.
