Leighton Meester and Adam Brody make such a sweet pair. The two have been together for the past 10 years now and it sounds like, for Brody, their romance was love at first sight. "I think the first time I saw her is when I met her at Canters, the deli in Los Angeles," the actor said in an episode of the "Podcrushed" podcast on April 12, 2023, hosted by Meester's "Gossip Girl" costar Penn Badgley. "I used to eat there all the time. I was there on my own with maybe a friend or two, and Josh [Safran] happened to be like taking a bunch of the cast of 'Gossip Girl' through after a prop party for your first upfronts. That's when I saw her, and, yeah, I was smitten instantly."
Still, it would take a while for the couple to get together. "I didn't get to know her for many years after,...

For better or worse, Adam Brody will always be remembered as Seth Cohen from The O.C. The affable and awkward teen is easy to find inside the weathered and wiser 37-year-old Brody, but the San Diego native might never be able to shake his early-aughts pop culture iconography. Despite that infamous role, Brody has had a pretty consistent career over the last two decades, playing opposite Brad Pitt and Angelina Jolie in Mr. & Mrs. Smith, being directed by famed playwright Neil Labute and making guest appearances on beloved TV shows like House of Lies and The League. This month, he’s in the buddy comedy Big Bear, where he gets to sport a pretty mean mustache, and returns with the second season of StartUp on Crackle.

Too busy cooking meth and being a criminal legend to be a father in Breaking Bad, Bryan Cranston’s taking a more involved approach to parenthood in Fox comedy Why Him? Indeed, the title is an apt question to ask in conjunction with Cranston boarding the film, especially as his forthcoming slate of movies veer closer to prestige pics than lightweight mainstream comedies. And make no mistake: this latest one bears all the hallmarks of seasonal family fluff.

Leighton Meester has some pipes! The "Gossip Girl" alum-turned-singer recently covered The Cardigans' "Lovefool" for The A.V. Club -- and she sounds pretty amazing. The actress said she chose to perform the hit '90s "Romeo +Juliet" anthem because of the emotionally-charged lyrics. "I chose it because I've always really liked it. I think it's ironic and really cute and sounds super-fun, but it's also really desperate and I can relate," Leighton told the site. Aside from the brunette beauty's impressive vocals, you can also spot Leighton's budding baby bump! The actress is expecting her first child with hubby Adam Brody. The 29-year-old and her "O.C." hubby met on the set of "The Oranges" in 2011, got engaged in November 2013 and tied the knot in February of last year. Leighton definitely has that mama-to-be glow! Blair Waldorf and Seth Cohen are having a baby! Leighton Meester is expecting her first child with husband Adam Brody -- and the first pics of her growing baby bump popped up on PopSugar Monday. The brunette beauty first sparked pregnancy buzz earlier this month when she was spotted with a tiny belly while performing on stage in Vancouver. The former "Gossip Girl" star and her "O.C." hubby met on the set of "The Oranges" in 2011, got engaged in November 2013 and tied the knot in February of last year. The notoriously-private pair has largely stayed mum about their relationship, but the actress recently talked about the possibility of expanding their family. "Most people I know are starting to get married," she told Nylon. "It'll be kids next. I like the grown-up stuff. I like having a house. I've got dogs." "I started [Gossip Girl] when I was so young," she added.

John Hamburg knows a little something about comedies where parents disapprove of their spawn’s dating choices – he wrote all three of the Meet The Parents films. He’s dipping into that well again for a new movie, called Why Him? and he has James Franco in talks to star. The script, which Hamburg co-wrote with Bad Neighbours director Nick Stoller and The Oranges writer Ian Helfer, finds a Midwestern father taking his family to visit his daughter, who is attending Stanford. But the Christmastime trip is soured somewhat when he meets her boyfriend, an ambitious Internet billionaire (probably think Sean Parker more than Mark Zuckerberg) – the role Franco is up for – and immediately takes a disliking to him. Thus kicks off a battle for his daughter’s attention as the dad tries to compete with this charismatic new rival. James Franco is in talks to star in the 20th Century Fox comedy Why Him?, which will be produced by Shawn Levy's 21 Laps company and Ben Stiller's Red Hour Pictures. Both of the production companies are based on the 20th Century Fox lot.
The plot centers on a Midwestern father who takes his family on a trip to Stanford, to visit his daughter during the Christmas holiday. What started as an innocent family trip quickly spirals out of control, as the father gets into an unexpected competition with his daughter's new boyfriend, a young Internet billionaire. While Variety doesn't specify which role James Franco will play, it seems likely that he will portray the billionaire boyfriend.

An actor, musician and a playwright who sort of came swanning into the driver’s seat in 2012 stringing the prestigious Academy Nicholl Fellowships in Screenwriting and ranking just below Whiplash on the 2012 Black List with the aptly titled Stockholm, Pennsylvania. The double mention jettisoned the first-time writer-director into Sundance’s Directors Lab for June of last year and went into production in early February. Saoirse Ronan and Cynthia Nixon toplined this party-pooper item — which promises to visit a truly dark place in the child survivor psyche, and as the trades suggested at the time, might be shockingly accurate in terms of some baffling real life events that occurred for the captive women they found in Cleveland. Bravura performances are almost assured in what might be a pin-drop subject matter stunner. Arnaud Potier (Mélanie Laurent’s Cannes debuted Respire) and oft Sundance film editor Joe Kloytz are among the tech fold.
