Electronic Arts’ Battlefield series and Activision’s Call of Duty franchise always had a bit of a rivalry between them. While Call of Duty is more focused on its story and characters, Battlefield prefers to emphasize the gameplay and multiplayer aspect of it. This strategy has more or less kept Call of Duty always ahead of Battlefield and increased the rival gap between them.

EA tried to change a lot of features and mechanics in their Bf titles to go head-to-head with Call of Duty, but those haven’t been working out for a while now. This article contains spoilers from Fire & Blood and possible plotlines for future House of the Dragon seasons
In the sprawling, dragon-filled world of HBO Max's House of the Dragon, power struggles and family betrayals often manifest in grand, fiery displays. Yet, amid the spectacle, one of the show's most effective storytelling devices remains a subtle prop easily overlooked by casual viewers: the Small Council balls.
These seemingly insignificant marble-like orbs, which council members place before themselves when arriving for meetings, have evolved into one of the show's most brilliant narrative tools. Far from mere set decoration, these balls are a visual barometer of loyalty, respect, and the changing power dynamics that define the realm as it spirals toward civil war.
The Silent Language of Power Is a Microcosm of Court Politics
When King Viserys I Targaryen (Paddy Considine) presided over his Small Council in Season 1, the ritual had a clear purpose.

Blood of Zeus is often praised for its retelling of Greek legends with a twist. It is riveting in the manner of its portrayal of family, redemption as well as power. But what makes it so different are the compelling characters and the plot. The makers are all set to chalk the third season up with the latest update.

Most specifically, it has to do with Albert Molina joining the voice cast. It looks promising, but that isn’t all considering his versatility. His involvement would add more depth and gravitas to his character as Cronos. It ultimately fits well with the intermingling of myth and fiction in the series.
Alfred Molina joins Season 3 as Cronos

An ambitious motivational speaker is tormented by an unrelenting itch in the back of her head in Hulu’s new horror film, Control Freak, but that itch seems destined to never be satisfied. And it’s a 50/50 split whether horror fans will be, either, in this Kelly Marie Tran-led outing written and directed by Shal Ngo (based on his Hulu short film Control). Tran, known for her work in Star Wars: The Last Jedi and Raya and the Last Dragon, is perfectly cast, however. Tran creates a believable protagonist as a fast-rising motivational speaker named Valerie, who spirals down a psychological rabbit hole that leads to bloody terror.
The film is part of a collaboration between Hulu and WorthenBrooks, which has doled out a slew of successful horror movies, including The Mill,Appendage, and Carved. Here, Val battles a mysterious parasitic demon from her homeland — which she believes is inside her,...

There will never be another show likeGame of Thrones. What was once the most critically acclaimed high fantasy ever became a punchline, thanks to an infamously botched final season that tanked a decade's worth of goodwill in the span of six episodes. On the other hand, the other seasons remain highly acclaimed, with Seasons 1-7 earning more than 90% on Rotten Tomatoes.
That being said, Game of Thrones began well over a decade ago. This means that, unsurprisingly, several elements in this adaptation of George R. R. Martin's A Song of Fire & Ice did not age well, even when taking the first seven seasons into account. Some of the HBO show's aspects actively got worse when put under the lens of retrospective analyses. Even the most diehard fans have since acknowledged the numerous problems with Game of Thrones.

This article contains heavy spoilers for Dexter: Original Sin.
Dexter: Original Sin is the spin-off prequel to the show Dexter, detailing the timeline of when Dexter Morgan officially became a vigilante serial killer. The show deeply explores Dexter's inexperience and his ongoing refinement of the art of meticulous murder. Dexter encounters numerous obstacles while searching for guilty individuals to target. However, his thirst for killing remains overpowering.
Dexter: Original Sin also takes the time to present additional origin stories for secondary characters such as Deborah Morgan, Maria Laguerta, and Brian Moser. The show subtly conveys the attitudes of its characters, providing clarity on aspects that were left unexplained in Dexter. Throughout its ten-episode first season, some episodes stand out as notably better than others.

Nothing says “we value innovation” quite like firing the innovators while locking their creations in a corporate vault. That’s exactly what Warner Bros has done by shuttering Monolith Productions while keeping their revolutionary Nemesis System trapped behind a patent until 2036.

But here’s the real kicker—while WB is perfectly happy to throw 131 talented developers into the job market during an industry-wide contraction, they’re keeping a death grip on Monolith’s crown jewel. The revolutionary Nemesis System, arguably one of gaming’s most innovative mechanics of the last decade, will remain locked behind WB’s patent until 2036.
It’s the corporate equivalent of taking your ball and going home, except in this case, the “ball” is a groundbreaking game mechanic that could push the entire industry forward. And WB isn’t even playing with it—they’re...

Stars: José María Guillén, Mariana Karr, Ángel Aranda, Sandra Alberti | Written and Directed by Carlos Puerto
Carlos Puerto’s Satan’s Blood, originally released in 1978, is an eerie and unsettling Spanish horror film that taps into the rising wave of supernatural and occult-themed cinema of the era. Produced by Juan Piquer Simón, the film blends elements of satanic panic, psychological terror, and eroticism, creating a disturbing experience that lingers long after the credits roll. While Satan’s Blood may not be as widely recognized as other European horror classics, it remains an atmospheric and effective shocker that deserves more attention from genre aficionados.
The story follows a young couple, Andrés (José María Guillén) and Ana (Mariana Karr), who encounter an older, seemingly friendly couple, Bruno (Ángel Aranda) and Berta (Sandra Alberti), while on a drive through the countryside. The games industry has been hit with more developer closures, and much like what happened with Visceral Games back in 2017, this one hits horror fans. Per Bloomberg, Warner Bros. Games has reportedly shuttered Player First Games (the devs behind MultiVersus), WB San Diego, and F.E.A.R. and Condemned: Criminal Origins developer Monolith Productions.
“We have had to make some very difficult decisions to structure our development studios and investments around building the best games possible with our key franchises – Harry Potter, Mortal Kombat, DC and Game of Thrones,” reads a statement from WB Games. “After careful consideration, we are closing three of our development studios – Monolith Productions, Player First Games and Warner Bros. Games San Diego. This is a strategic change in direction and not a reflection of these teams or the talent that consists within them.”
Prior to today’s announcement, Monolith was working on a Wonder Woman game, which has now been cancelled.

It remains almost impossible to believe that Chadwick Boseman, the man who would be Black Panther in the Marvel Cinematic Universe, is gone, even though it's been nearly five years since his tragic death from colon cancer. Boseman was only 43 years old when he died in the summer of 2020, and yet he'd left a permanent mark and legacy on the world of pop culture. The fact that he portrayed such an instantly beloved superhero played a huge part in crafting his legacy, of course, although Boseman's award-worthy performances in films like "42" (which paved the way for him to get the role of T'Challa) and "Ma Rainey's Black Bottom" went a long way towards proving that if he'd had the chance, he would have made an even bigger impact outside of the MCU thanks to his innate talent and charisma.

The third season of House of the Dragon is about to start shooting, and showrunner Ryan Condal gave some updates on the latest episode of his podcast The Stuff Dreams Are Made Of. Usually this podcast is about props, but Condal will occasionally share things about the Game of Thrones prequel as well.
This latest episode was actually recorded towards the end of January; you can tell because Condal and his cohost David Mandel are talking about the American Airlines plane-helicopter crash in Washinton, DC like it just happened. Speaking with Deadline at The White Lotus Season 3 premiere, HBO's Head of Drama Series and Films, Francesca Orsi, stated that Season 3 will begin with the Battle of the Gullet, one of the bloodiest events in the show's source material, George R.R. Timo Tjahjanto, the director behind one of the biggest and best action movie hits on Netflix last year, The Shadow Strays, will reportedly reunite with action icon and The Night Comes for Us star Iko Uwais for the perfect new project. According to a now suspiciously removed report from THR, Tjahjanto and The Raid’s Iko Uwais will reunite for an adaptation of the neo-noir cyberpunk RPG Neon Blood, with the pitch for the movie promising “a bone-crunching kick to the face.” For action fans, this kick can’t land quickly enough.
This exciting information was revealed by X/Twitter user One Perfect HEADshot, who later stated that “Ok, The Hollywood Reporter have apparently removed all mentions of the film from their article now. Joffrey Baratheon was a monster in royal clothing, and every Game of Thrones fan has, at some point, fantasized about his untimely demise. While his eventual poisoning in A Storm of Swords was immensely satisfying, what if Sansa Stark had taken matters into her own hands much earlier?

Imagine if, she had actually done it, launching him into the abyss, dragging herself down with him in a shocking murder-suicide. The ripple effects of such a bold act would have been staggering. Let’s explore how Westeros might have changed if the Mad Boy King never made it past the first book.

Vampire and witches are some of the most popular supernatural creatures in anime, right along with demons and yokai. They gained even more popularity in the early 2000s when anime series got pretty creative with creature lore. Some series have different categories of witches with specific powers and strengths, from elemental abilities to cast curses.
Some titles experiment with vampire lore, weaving together traditional sun-fearing vampires and formidable dhampirs. Witches and vampires are also perfect characters to incorporate into dark fantasy and gothic anime. Dark fantasy and gothic are ancient subgenres, but audiences were drawn to new takes on them in the early 2000s.
Princess Tutu Pairs a Whimsical Art Style with Heavy Themes & Evil Sorcery Series Years: 2002-2003; Streaming on Prime VideoImage via Hal Film Maker Studio.
A magical girl anime inspired by classical ballets, like Princess Tutu, doesn't seem like it would be a dark fantasy at first glance.

Harold Perrineau's amazing performance as Sheriff Boyd Stevens is a huge part of what makes From such a great show. He masterfully translates from script to screen the tough ex-military man turned emergency sheriff, growing ill and emotionally unstable, but still keeping his head high. Fans can't wait to see what Season 4 will bring for his character after such intense challenges so far. But some may not know the actor has had an amazing career on television before starring in the ongoing horror series. He's known for playing Augustus Hill in HBO's Oz from 1997 to 2003, and he had already proven his talent for sci-fi mysteries as Michael Dawson in Lost in 2004, long before taking on the main role in From.
At the same time, fans of these TV shows may not have noticed or may not remember, but Perrineau has also appeared in several popular films since 1988 -- when...

As the burgeoning genre picks up steam, Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare is yet another low-budget mascot horror film in the Twisted Childhood Universe. Based on the beloved children's character created by Scottish author J.M. Barrie in 1902, Peter Pan's Neverland Nightmare is the latest in a long line of modern horror flicks to take characters aimed at youngsters and turn them into the stuff of nightmares. Scott Jeffrey helms the movie, and it comes from the team behind Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey.
The mascot horror genre was kicked into high gear with the release of the aforementioned horror spoof in 2023, and shocked the world when Winnie the Pooh: Blood and Honey was a box office hit. Naturally, Jagged Edge Productions (the company behind Blood and Honey) wanted to strike while the iron was hot. Therefore, they have green-lit not only a sequel but a Peter Pan film set in the same universe.

Since its December 2024 launch, Marvel Rivals has had no shortage of both paid skins and free skins to customize your characters, and the Blood Shield skin for Invisible Woman is no exception. While the skin itself can't be previewed until the end of the season, you can fulfill the requirements to get the cosmetic right now for absolutely free. Thankfully, you will have a lot of time to do so.
Compared to the Reborn from Ragnarok skin for Thor, getting Blood Shield can be a much bigger challenge depending on what type of player you are. However, you can still pay for Invisible Woman's Malice skin if you're looking for a quick and easy alternative that's still fun to play with. On the other hand, if you're a skilled Rivals player on a budget, obtaining Blood Shield will be a satisfying task that's free of charge.

Dexter: Resurrection has begun filming. Michael C. Hall originated the title role - a moral serial killer who hunts down criminals who have escaped justice - in Showtime's Dexter, which ran for eight seasons between 2006 and 2013. He later reprised the role in the sequel series New Blood and as the narrator of the prequel show Original Sin, starring Patrick Gibson. The upcoming Dexter: Resurrection is set to follow the character's post-New Blood story. Although the show ended with what appeared to be his death, the prologue to Original Sin revealed that he had survived.
On the official Dexter X account, they shared a video message from Michael C. Hall announcing that Friday, January 17 was the official first day of production on Dexter: Resurrection. As one of the most celebrated authors of current times, George R.R. Martin has seen his fair share of controversies. However, there was a time not too long ago when his loyal Game of Thrones fan base turned against him with vicious claims.

Trouble started when Martin announced his new book titled The Rise of the Dragon: An Illustrated History of the Targaryen Dynasty, Volume One in October, 2022. Fans were excited about delving deeper into their favorite fantasy world, until they noticed the co-authors of the book.
According to many fans, the co-authors Linda Antonsson and Elio M. García Jr., who are married to each other, have a long history of being racist. The couple tried to dispel the claims saying they were unfounded, however, fans seemed adamant on their stance.

Marvel Rivals, a third-person hero shooter featuring characters from the comics and done in a style similar to Overwatch, officially launched in January 2024, and it could lead to brand-new comic readership. The first season of Marvel Rivals, titled Eternal Night Falls, also includes new maps, skins, missions, and an arcade game mode, all wrapped up in a vampire-themed package.
While Dracula vs. The Fantastic Four may seem like an odd mashup at first, Marvel Comics is no stranger to vampires. In fact, Marvel Comics' 2024 summer event, Blood Hunt, was a vampire-themed line-wide crossover. The launch of Marvel Rivals Season 1 and the Blood Hunt event are spaced apart, but if things were timed differently, overlapping the first season with the launch of the event could have directed some of the gamers toward the comics, potentially making a new generation of comic fans.

Sosuke Aizen is a subject of intrigue for Bleach fans, and Tite Kubo never fed into that curiosity as he kept the character a mystery for the most part. Every time something is left unexplained in a popular Shonen series, fans direct all their energy and attention to creating fan theories.

The first teaser trailer for Spartacus: House of Ashur has entered the arena! Starz‘s sequel series welcomes a new era of gladiatorial combat drama to the stage, along with an autumn release window.
Here’s the official synopsis for Spartacus: House of Ashur courtesy of Starz:
“What if Ashur (Nick Tarabay), hadn’t died on Mount Vesuvius at the end of ‘Spartacus: Vengeance?’ And what if he had been gifted the gladiator school once owned by Batiatus in return for aiding the Romans in killing Spartacus and putting an end to the slave rebellion?”

Getting Bright Blood in Hyper Light Breaker is the best way to continue to progress your game. There are a fair number of ways to do so, but they are not all as intuitive as some of the others. The game is in Early Access, so there may still be more ways to get Bright Blood as the game continues to grow and expand.
The Early Access version of Hyper Light Breaker is still being improved as the game continues to get updated. There will be more enemies, more characters, and more upgrades as the game gets closer to full launch. For now, however, players will have to figure some pieces out for themselves, including how to use Bright Blood to progress.

If you’re in the mood for some fast-paced old-school 90s Fps action, solo developer James Dornan might have just what you need with Cruel, which was recently released to Steam. Mixing in roguelike elements with run and gun gameplay, Cruel echoes the look of Blood, as well as having a similar vein of twisted dark humour.
Plus, in Evil Dead fashion, you get to wield a chainsaw and shotgun simultaneously.
Seeing as it’s a homage to the height of 90s shooters, there’s not much here for the story, which doesn’t take itself too seriously. You find yourself disoriented next to a lifeless body in an elevator, trapped in a bizarre hotel. Without hesitation, you grab the weapon from the corpse’s cold grip, bracing yourself for the horrors ahead.
Those horrors involve you battling your way through the hotel’s 10 ever-changing levels, filled with bloodthirsty enemies...

Plot: Wendy Darling strikes out in an attempt to rescue her brother Michael from ‘the clutches of the evil Peter Pan.’ Along the way she meets Tinkerbell, who will be seen taking heroin, believing that it’s pixie dust.
Review: It’s always very ambitious for a franchise to announce its plans way ahead of time. It certainly has bit Marvel on the butt, but if you’re going to parody their release schedule, you have to do things full bore. And I think most of us at least chuckled when the Poohniverse was announced. So smack dab in the middle of their release lies Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare, a horror take on the J.M. Barrie classic. And it’s a hell of a lot darker than expected.
Peter Pan’s Neverland Nightmare is a very dark and twisted take on Peter Pan as he sucks the souls out of children to remain youthful.

There are two genres that are lynchpins in the land of movies and TV for that matter. Vampires and The Mafia. Rarely have these two crossed paths but in 1992 they did under the eye of a man more known for his work with werewolves. Innocent Blood would show us a new sort of vampire and would be a love letter to both genres with a massive list of cameos and in jokes that would keep many a horror fan happy. So, lets head down to Pittsburgh and see if we can find a blood sucker as we take a look back at Innocent Blood.
Innocent Blood would be directed by John Landis, the man who a decade earlier had given us a mix of horror and comedy with the classic American Werewolf in London. He’d cross the genre streams with Innocent Blood as well, mixing the mob, vampires, comedy...

The ever-expanding Dexter franchise is bringing James Remar and David Zayas back into the fold with Dexter: Resurrection. Remar will reprise his role as Dexter’s deceased dad and mentor, Harry. Zayas returns as Detective Angel Batista, a character he played in nearly 100 episodes of the original series.
Michael C. Hall leads the cast as serial killer Dexter Morgan, and Jack Alcott’s back as his son, Harrison, a role he played in Dexter: New Blood. Clyde Phillips guides the series as showrunner. Phillips also serves as an executive producer along with Michael C. Hall, Scott Reynolds (Jessica Jones), Tony Hernandez (Emily in Paris), and Lilly Burns (Russian Doll).
Marcos Siega (Dexter: New Blood) is involved as a producing director. The latest addition to the franchise is produced by Showtime Studios and Counterpart Studios.
Filming is expected to get underway this month, with Paramount+ with Showtime targeting a summer 2025 premiere.

Dragons are among the most powerful creatures to ever exist in Westeros, but several have died in House of the Dragon and Game of Thrones. Ever since Daenerys Targaryen’s three dragon eggs hatched on Khal Drogo’s funeral pyre, dragons have been one of the most fantastical, awe-inspiring parts of this world, which on-screen has been true across both Thrones and its prequel show. They’re a force of nature, and spectacular when they’re unleashed.
Fire cannot kill a dragon. Daenerys says as much in Game of Thrones (and the first A Song of Ice and Fire book). But that doesn’t mean they can’t die, as seen multiple times. Thanks to George R.R. Martin’s Fire & Blood, there’ll be even more dragons dying in House of the Dragon season 3, but a few have already perished.

The second season of House of the Dragon is considered by many fans a huge mess, especially after the numerous changes that George R.R. Martin himself pointed out. More than the absence of major characters and modifications in the plot, the mediocre treatment of the story stands out like a sore thumb.

Fans had high hopes for the prequel series as the first season gave a promising start. After all, Martin made sure to supervise the project. When disagreements over creative decisions started rising, Ryan Condal and his team of writers took the reins into their own hands, and that’s where the chaos began.

Taylor Sheridan isn’t the kind of guy who plays it safe, and apparently, he didn’t start now either. One Marvel star thought Sheridan’s plan for his hit series was completely bonkers — so much so that they doubted it could even survive five seasons.

While others stick to the rules, Sheridan’s writing feels like a high-stakes poker game where he keeps doubling down. Sure, it’s risky, but it’s also why his stories grab you by the collar and refuse to let go.
