Evan Peters [Jeffrey Dahmer] says they had one rule, from Ryan Murphy [Creator] to follow going into the series: that it would never be told from Dahmer's point of view. "As an audience, you're not really sympathizing with him. You're not really getting into his plight. You're more sort of watching it, you know, from the outside."
Cooper Koch (who portrays Erik Menendez in season 2) met the Menendez brothers in prison after the release of the series. He expressed his support for the brothers, saying he believes that the sexual abuse claims are true and that the brothers should get paroled.
It's shown throughout the show that the police officers that released 14-year-old Konerak Sinthasomphone back into the care of Jeffrey Dahmer at his apartment were suspended and subsequently re-instated. But it doesn't cover that John Balcerzak, one of the officers in question, wasn't just supported by his union, but would be elected as the Union President of the Milwaukee Police Association in 2005.
The 10-episode series had, within a week in September 2022, risen to the #1 spot. While it received mixed reviews from critics, audiences have propelled it to the second-most viewed Netflix series of all time as of October 2022.
Evan Peters openly admitted that Jeffrey Dahmer was the most difficult role of his career and that he was still recovering from the disturbance of the role when it came time to promote the series.
