Exclusive: Oscar winner Sissy Spacek (Carrie) and three-time Oscar nominee Nick Nolte (The Thin Red Line) have been tapped for roles in Die, My Love, Lynne Ramsay’s thriller based on the 2017 novel by Ariana Harwicz.

Details as to the duo’s roles are under wraps. The project reunites Spacek and Nolte following their work together on Affliction, the 1997 crime drama written and directed by Paul Schrader. As previously announced, Jennifer Lawerence, Robert Pattinson and Lakeith Stanfield will also star.

Set in a remote forgotten rural area, the story follows a mother (Lawrence) who struggles to maintain her sanity as she battles with psychosis. Pattinson will be playing her husband, and Stanfield, her lover.

Ramsay is directing from her script written with Enda Walsh. Producers on the project include Justine Ciarrocchi and Lawerence on behalf of Excellent Cadaver, as well as Martin Scorsese and Andrea Calderwood. Black Label Media is financing.

Jordan Peele's The People Under the Stairs is progressing with Doom Patrol writer Ezra Claytan Daniels joining as the screenplay writer. Daniels has collaborated with Peele before on New Black Horror and has garnered nominations and adaptations for his graphic novels. Peele has proven to be a genre visionary with his satirical commentary on class, race, and gender in horror, though it is unclear if he will direct this project.

Another Wes Craven classic is getting the remake treatment. It has been announced that a reboot of his 1991 film The People Under the Stairs is in the works from Jordan Peele and his Monkeypaw Productions.

Per Bloody Disgusting, Doom Patrol and Night Sky writer Ezra Claytan Daniels will pen the screenplay with Peele and Win Rosenfeld serving as producers. Not much is known about the direction of the remake as the project is still in very early development at Universal Pictures. Daniels is also no stranger to working with Peele, having contributed to his New York Times Bestselling short story anthology, Out There Screaming.

The scribe behind genre-centric streaming shows like “Doom Patrol” and “Night Sky” and comics like “Upgrade Soul” will pen a remake of the 1991 original horror flick, which has accumulated a cult following since then both due to its quality and its ahead-of-its-time social topicality.

Written and directed by Craven, the original “The People Under the Stairs” concerned a young Black child (Brandon Adams) who breaks into the home of his family’s greedy landlords. Three years have gone by since it was announced that Get Out, Us, and Nope director Jordan Peele had signed on to produce a reboot of Wes Craven’s 1991 film The People Under the Stairs (watch it Here) for Universal Pictures, and now we finally have an update to share about the project. While the reboot is still described as being in “early development”, Deadline reports that Doom Patrol and Night Sky writer Ezra Claytan Daniels has signed on to write the screenplay.

It’s been a decade since Chvrches first released The Bones of What You Believe. Now, the band is honoring their celebrated debut album with a 10th anniversary reissue, which features four previously-unheard songs and five live recordings from 2013.

After trying his hand at ambient music last year, Playing Robots Into Heaven is billed as Blake’s return to form, getting back into the sort of electronic music he introduced himself with on early EPs like The Bells Sketch and Cmyk. The uptempo lead single, “Big Hammer,” is indicative of that, although with the confidence of having been in the game for over a decade now. It begins with a simple, ominous beat that swells into a trap-inspired banger, and arrives with a heist-themed music video directed by Oscar Hudson.

Blake’s international tour in support of the album begins at the Fabrique in Milan on September 18th. The trek also includes a hometown show in London at Alexandra Palace on September 28th, before wrapping up in Los Angeles on October 20th. Tickets are available here.
