As someone who has only seen clips of the rest of the Starkid shows this was the best piece of theatre i've seen in ages! The energy, comedy, and VOCALS where just top tier.
Grace/Angela and Max/Will were just unbelievably hilarious. I cant wait to sit and watch every other show because i feel like ive stepped into the weirdest cinematic universe out there, and i loved every second of it.
This was like Rocky Horror meets Glee meets a nightmare on elm street and every song, scene, and piece of dialogue just made the whole thing better and better.
Truly couldnt pick out a moment i didnt like.

The ARTISTS behind this deserve so much support, their vocals were amazing (and glad to see that Bryce Charles got to be a Lead in Cinderella's Castle after their performance here.
The plot was entertaining with its turns and character development even despite the fact that some of the jokes used are now outdated even though they lived a good life during its run- and the ending was CHEF'S KISS with how it was foretold from their musical numbers. I love them so much.

Though I genuinely love this musical so much, I was inspired to write a review as a direct retaliation to the 2/10 review that is among the written ones.
This guy gave it a TWO OUT OF TEN because he claimed he was BORED? And then complained that the musical didn't have movie-like production quality and it was "too much like a theater production." Where do you get off PAUL. It's a goddamn musical, which you didn't even know before you started watching it, and said you would've, "opted out of watching" if you'd known beforehand. Hey, man, THEN TURN OFF THE DAMN SHOW.
Oh, wait... he did! He didn't even finish TWENTY FIVE MINUTES of the show before turning it off!! Why are you writing a review???? You don't belong here!!!! You didn't even WATCH IT.
I have never written a review but my jaw literally dropped when reading that review. This is all jokes.

StarKid started strong in 2009 with A Very Potter Musical and has remained consistently great for 15 years while getting even more polished.
This show stands on its own and is constantly enjoyable, but the more of StarKid's prior Hatchetfield content you've watched, the better this show is. There are running gags, recurring characters, in-jokes, and an entire lore surrounding all the weird stuff that happens in Hatchetfield.
And all their stuff is freely available on their YT channel.
If you are considering checking out this movie, you might want to consider watching The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals first.

I was recommended this comedy-horror-musical on my YouTube feed and was unknowingly thrown back into the elaborate and captivating town of Hatchetfield, a town of obscenity, unpredictability, and musicality. The plot line for this show is fascinating and, although predictable at times, keeps the perfect amount of artistic parody and dedication to making heartfelt work. After some references, I remembered watching The Guy Who Didn't Like Musicals years back and was even more intrigued by the storyline. Team Starkid have been making absolute bangers since 2009 with A Very Potter Musical and they have great works and stories being told.
