Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen

It's right: it has fallen and very low actually

Not a lucky hand lately with video-games as it's the 5th game in a row that I ditch!

This time I just can't stand the complexity of the game-play. As a child of Nes, SNES, Megadrive, Gameboy and early computers, my natural joystick is four directions and three buttons. Here, it's a double four direction and 10 buttons. This inflation of technology doesn't add to the fun as you need to be an engineer or happy to read a manual to play. Here, there's at least a attempt to be helpful and didactic as the first level is a training level. But after 15 minutes of listening how to drive, fly, target, make a turn, accelerate, punch, etc,…, I just get bored and let down.

It's a bit sad as it's a birthday gift from my brother but I presume that I have to be more selective now.

Revenge is Coming

Now talk about a huge improvement over the first game. Normally movie games are not always a winner but this is one of the rarest ones to break the mold.

Transformers Revenge Of The Fallen follows the same story line as the film but of course you can play as both the Autobots and Decepticons sides each with their own take on the film.

With many favorites coming back such as Autobots Optimus Prime, Ratchet, Ironhide, Bumblebee, and new Character Breakaway as they battle the Decepticons Megatron, Starscream, Grindor, Sideways and Long Haul.

Now the controls were change from the first game in the film series but again it could depend on the system you play it on.

But they work very well to your favor on Playstation 3 and PC so you are in the clear for that one however they did make the transformation different from the first game.

The Graphics are very well done with very good level designs to match each level plus the Transformers are very good designs which makes the game on PS3 and PC and big reward to play.

The voice acting is good as well but some of it could be better sometimes some characters can't be heard one what they are saying.

But over all some would say the game itself is better then the film and in a way I have to agree because the film did have some disappointment but the game fix the issue.

Also the PS3 edition allows you to unlock The Transformer Generation 1 episodes which is a nice addiction for fans of the classic Transformers.

So yes there is more than meets the eye when it comes to Transformers Revenge Of The Fallen video game with good graphics strong story and it much superior story wise to the film.

I give Transformers Revenge Of The Fallen an 8 out of 10 .

the video game sequel has taken revenge...

having not seeing "Transformers: Revenge of the Fallen" yet tells me by playing the video game the movie will be greatly awesome! the video game for the sequel has much more matured compared to the first film's video game. the action in this game is more serious, and more fun. the transformations seem better as well.

pros- game has a "mature" value to it (not as in rated M for mature) but seems more serious than the first game. much better and tougher boss battles. ability to choose your character (on some missions). health/weapons regenerate by itself (and quickly!)

cons- the upgrades doesn't really seem like they make a difference. a few cheesy bonuses. when both campaigns are completed you are wanting to play a new game, unfortunately that will overwrite your current saved progress, but then again the only thing you will overwrite is the completion of missions from the previous game, and the (useless) upgrades you made and a few unlocked episodes from the TV series.

all in all, the game is really fun and entertaining... i enjoyed it very much
