British royal family news reveals that tennis legend Serena Williams is close to Harry and Meghan Markle’s two kids, Archie and Lilibet.
In fact she has spent more time with them than their own families have—Meghan’s discarded dad Thomas has never even met the kids nor his son in law Harry.
What makes Serena so special that she is an “aunt” to King Charles’ grandkids? It’s a curious relationship the adults have, with Serena behind some of the couple’s most tawdry moments.
She was the host when Harry accepted ESPN’s Pat Tillman Award, objected to by millions of Americans and the late US war hero’s own mother. She also threw an over-the-top NYC baby shower for Meghan and unborn Archie.
Here’s what to know about how Serena Williams has spent more time with the royal grandchildren than their actual relatives.

Picture this, the world’s greatest tennis player and a duchess-turned-lifestyle-guru walk into a kitchen. No, it’s not the setup for a joke, it’s a setup for the launch of With Love, Meghan, where Meghan Markle invites her dear friend, Serena Williams to whip up some culinary delights. But as the spatulas fly and the cameras roll, fans can’t help but notice that this dynamic duo’s chemistry seems a tad… undercooked.

Sure, Markle and Williams go way back. From a chance meeting at the Super Bowl in 2010 to Williams attending the royal wedding in 2018, their friendship has had its public moments.
But something about their recent on-screen reunion feels a little too polished like a PR smoothie blended to perfection but lacking real substance. Fans aren’t buying it, and they’re letting the internet know.

British royalty and tennis royalty collided when Princess Lilibet, daughter of Prince Harry and Meghan Markle, spent quality time with “auntie” Serena Williams recently. Markle shared snapshots and a video clip from the hangout on her Instagram Stories on Saturday, March 1. In the clip, Williams claps as she and Lilibet play a game of Candy Land. The board game box is customized to read “Archie & Lili Candy Land” in a nod to both of Harry and Markle’s children: Archie, 5, and Lilibet, 3. “When the aunties come to celebrate… and to play!” Markle wrote in the caption. “Love you @serenawilliams.” In one of the photos, Markle hunches over her daughter as they look at the game board. “3 days until the party begins,” the duchess wrote, referring to her upcoming Netflix lifestyle program, With Love, Meghan. “All are invited @netflix.” In another pic, the Suits alum gives Williams a big hug. Sisters can be competitive and argue, but no one can fight on reality TV like Kim and Kourtney Kardashian. Over their years appearing on Keeping Up With The Kardashians and later The Kardashians on Hulu, the two sisters have spectacularly come to blows. When they fight, Kourtney and Kim can get nasty from disagreements over birthday parties to calling each other personal names.
Frequently, the sisters get paranoid that the other is copying them fighting over weddings, fashion, and work ethic. While mostly the women argue and hurl insults, the siblings did once get into a physical altercation that led to Kourtney taking time away from appearing on their family reality show.

The team behind opioid crime thriller “King Ivory” had a somewhat unorthodox journey to the Venice Film Festival this year.
When a delayed flight from New York meant they missed their connection by a matter of minutes, the group of six — including stars Ben Foster and Melissa Leo, plus producer Jeremy Rosen and writer/director John Swab — found themselves in Munich on a long waitlist for the only other plane going to Venice that day.
Thinking that the chances of them all getting seats were fairly slim, Rosen made what he describes as an “executive decision,” hiring a Mercedes Sprinter van for a seven-hour drive that took them from Germany into Italy through the Austrian Alps.
“It was truly like a camp trip… a camp trip for privileged children,” he notes. There was also a hint of danger — Swab claims that about halfway into the ride, he spotted Rosen “falling asleep at the wheel.

The shadow of Steven Soderbergh’s 2000 drug war epic, Traffic, hangs heavily over all the narcs, cartel members, native gangsters and fentanyl addicts populating director John Swab’s hard-nosed thriller, King Ivory. But that’s not necessarily a bad thing.
Taking cues from a modern classic that depicted the battle to stop crack-cocaine from destroying America, Swab repeats the same structure over two decades later to tackle the opioid epidemic, and generally achieves strong results. Less dramatic and poetic than the Soderbergh film, King Ivory nonetheless boasts some harrowingly real action sequences, tough-as-nails characters and an overall level of grittiness that demands attention. Its uncompromisingly bleak view of fentanyl’s damaging hold on the U.S. is not necessarily a crowd-pleaser, but it well deserves a look.
Swab cut his chops directing genre flicks like Ida Red and Candy Land, putting out a whopping seven features since 2019. (He’s already releasing another movie,...

From the neon-haired pin-up of 2010’s “California Gurls” to the metal-mouthed teen of 2011’s “Last Friday Night (T.G.I.F.)” to the strawberry-blond hippie of 2019’s “Never Really Over,” Katy Perry’s career has been largely defined by her outrageous video fashions. The singer’s latest reinvention for “Woman’s World,” the lead single from her seventh studio album, 143, has sparked some backlash. But even a car crash is hard to look away from, and Perry’s videography remains one of the most eye-popping of the 21st century. We took a look back at some of her wildest video looks.

The "True American" game in New Girl is mostly a drinking game with a Candyland-like structure, full of made-up rules and surprises. Each round of "True American" revolves around reaching The Castle, navigating lava floors, and using American history trivia to gain moves. While the show never fully explains the game, fans can create their own variations based on Fox's loose ruleset and vague premise.
The rules to New Girl's somewhat confusing drinking game "True American" seem to change throughout the run of the show, but that is part of the fun of watching the characters play the game. In the series, Zooey Deschanel played Jess, a teacher who moves into a loft with all-male roommates. The show set itself apart with great comic writing and performances, especially from Max Greenfield and Jake Johnson. The series followed the roommates' personal and professional dramas, with Jess and Johnson's Nick eventually falling for one another.

Sony is the latest player that would like to make an accusation. The studio has won the rights to develop a reimagining of the Hasbro board game “Clue,” and the studio intends to bring the murder mystery game to the screen for both film and television.
Hollywood has been trying to remake “Clue,” first adapted in Jonathan Lynn’s cult classic screwball comedy “Clue” from 1985, for years. Most recently, a project was set up at 20th Century Studios, and it had Ryan Reynolds and Jason Bateman circling to star along with “The Muppets Movie” filmmaker James Bobin directing. In 2022, Oren Uziel (“The Lost City”) stepped up to rewrite the original draft of the script from Rhett Reese and Paul Wernick (“Deadpool”), but it too went nowhere.
No cast or creative talent is attached at this stage of development. Sony is the only studio developing anything based on “Clue” at this time,...

Anyone who hasn’t stumbled into the world of online Actual Plays is, first of all, missing out on a lot of fun, but second of all, hasn’t encountered the series of truly fascinating creative choices that the production teams behind them get to make. The form can involve any podcast or web series where a cast of actors play a tabletop role-playing game like Dungeons & Dragons for audience consumption, either taped in advance or streamed live on platforms like Twitch.
Actual Plays offer a dual sense of immersion for viewers: They simulate both the experience of playing with friends (who happen to be top-tier storytellers) and the pleasures of fantasy, heroic characters exploring inventive worlds, and outsiders banding together to fight forces of oppression. "We gotta catch an elf." "You messed with the wrong family!" Prime Video has unveiled the full trailer for the holiday comedy Candy Cane Lane, which seems like it's related to the Candy Land board game (all too common these days), though it's not the same. Arriving for streaming on December 1st, no theaters for this movie. "Chaos comes to town when Candy Cane Lane premieres" this winter, in this story about holiday obsession. A man is set on winning the neighborhood's annual Christmas decorating contest. After making a pact with an elf to help him win, the elf casts a spell bringing the "12 Days of Christmas" song to life and unexpectedly bringing chaos to cheerful town. This comedy for everyone in the family stars Eddie Murphy as Chris, with Tracee Ellis Ross, Robin Thede, Nick Offerman, Chris Redd, Riki Lindhome, Ken Marino, and Jillian Bell. This looks like...

"I just want it to be the best Christmas ever!" And that's your wish? Amazon Prime Video has revealed the first look teaser trailer for a holiday comedy called Candy Cane Lane, which sounds similar to the Candy Land board game (since everything has to be based on some existing IP nowadays), though it's not the same. For better or worse? "Chaos comes to town when Candy Cane Lane premieres" this December. A man is determined to win the neighborhood's annual Christmas decorating contest. After making a pact with an elf to help him win, the elf casts a spell bringing the 12 days of Christmas to life and unexpectedly bringing chaos to town. The Archduke of Arizona, featured in the Django Unchained sequel comic book series, is a cruel and cunning villain who rules with lies and cruelty. Langdon forged documents and manipulated circumstances to make it seem like an indigenous orphan girl was the rightful inheritor of a large portion of land in Arizona. Langdon's enforcer, Anvil Charlie, was even more brutal than him, doling out punishments by smashing limbs with a hammer. Django and Zorro teamed up to stop their reign of terror.
While the likes of Calvin Candie, Marsellus Wallace, and Bill rank among the best antagonists utilized in Quentin Tarantino stories, there is one who stands right up there with them: the Archduke of Arizona - a wholly evil yet brilliant man who was one of the main characters in the unmade Django Unchained sequel.

Django/Zorro #3 reveals that Broomhilda, the wife of the title character, is working with Harriet Tubman on the Underground Railroad, highlighting her active role and expanding her backstory. The comic also confirms that Broomhilda is related to the iconic film character John Shaft, making Django Unchained a prequel-of-sorts to the Shaft franchise. This background information showcases Broomhilda as more than just Django's wife and emphasizes her connection to significant historical figures, making up for her reduced role in the Django Unchained film.
For audiences wondering what happened between the title character and Broomhilda after the credits rolled in Django Unchained, they need look no further than the crossover between Django and Zorro. In 2014, Quentin Tarantino and Matt Wagner collaborated on Django/Zorro, a crossover comic book from Dynamite between the two iconic characters that Tarantino fully intended to adapt into a live-action movie. Needle drops—or the practice of adding a pre-existing song into a movie's scene—are very popular today. Filmmakers have been doing this for decades, but it's noticeably more commonplace today. Although there are many movies with memorable needle drops, only a select few are actually worthwhile and truly iconic.
Movies need a lot more than just an already popular song to make their needle drops work. These movies' needle drops became cultural cornerstones thanks to acting, direction, visuals, and more that complemented the song. Whether they're loved sincerely or ironically, these needle drops are the most iconic ever committed to film.

With Critical Role's Matt Mercer serving as Dm, the new season of College Humor's Dimension 20 series -- which debuts on the streaming service Dropout on May 10 -- brings fans back to the realm of Candia. Inspired in equal measures by Game of Thrones and the board game Candyland, the show's sixth season embraced the tonal mishmash to produce a funny, heartbreaking, and shocking storyline about faith, family and revenge -- all centered around a series of food-based characters.

"Cocaine Bear" director Elizabeth Banks has had one wild ride of a career, starring in everything from "The 40-Year-Old Virgin" to "The Hunger Games," but one of her early career standouts is her role as schoolteacher Starla Grant in James Gunn's "Slither." Starla is a small town girl from the fictional hamlet of Wheelsy, South Carolina, pining for her high school sweetheart, local sheriff Bill Pardy (Nathan Fillion) while married to the only rich guy in town, Grant Grant (Michael Rooker). Things get weird when Grant becomes the host for an alien parasite that wants to take over all of Earth, but it still has feelings for Starla. Like Fay Wray and King Kong, Banks must play beauty to a terrifying beast. "Slither" is one seriously gross movie, with slimy slugs, tentacles, exploding people, and more, but it turns out that was a big part of the fun for Banks.

Screen Rant is pleased to present an exclusive clip from Little Dixie, a new action film distributed by Paramount Pictures. Arriving in select theaters and on digital platforms this week, the revenge thriller follows what happens when a deal between a corrupt government official and a dangerous drug lord goes wrong. Doc Alexander (played by go-to action hero Frank Grillo) is an ex-special forces operative who finds himself trapped between a rock and a hard place as forces feud around him, but everyone else better duck for cover when he moves to protect what's his.
Little Dixie is written and directed by John Swab, who recently worked on Candy Land and Body Brokers. Aside from Grillo, it stars a powerful cast that includes Eric Dane (who has been making waves in Euphoria) as Governor Richard Jeffs, who gets Doc into the mess, and Annabeth Gish (Mayfair Witches) as Doc's associate Billie Riggs.

Little Dixie is a thriller movie directed by John Swab starring Frank Grillo. With Eric Dane and Annabeth Gish.
Frank Grillo impersonates a man that navigates between two seas and between borders, a classic anti-hero who due to the circumstances has to become a hero to save his daughter, Little Dixie, whom the movie is named after.
This is a movie of black and white contrasts with grey areas in which everything happens in dark tones with even darker characters. This film which has its source in the construction of classic cinema to, in a authentic and brutal style, destroy and separate itself from its genre.
In this film, the director, John Swab knows how to impose his own style.

Warning! This article contains minor Spoilers for That '90s Show season 1!Netflix’s That ‘90s Show fails to repeat one of the most iconic aspects of That ‘70s Show, but it ultimately works in the sequel series’ favor. That ‘90s Show brings Point Place, Wisconsin to a new decade and cultural climate, as the sitcom picks up 15 years after That ‘70s Show’s series finale. Over the course of the summer of 1995, Leia Forman, Jay Kelso, and the new generation of Point Place teens find themselves going to the same places, enjoying the same activities in the Forman basement, and coming into contact with many of the same local figures that their parents did two decades before.
The plot and characters of That ‘90s Show season 1 reaffirm that the concept of sex, drugs, and rock ‘n roll never dies, it just changes clothes, has new technology, and adjusts its sound.

John Swab, the writer/director of grim and gritty crime dramas like Ida Red, Candy Land, and Body Brokers, is back with a new film, Little Dixie. Fans of Swab’s work will likely recognize more than a few familiar actors, including frequent collaborator Frank Grillo, who is once again playing a leading role. Like Swab’s previous works, Little Dixie deals with desperate people doing desperate things in a grim and often morally gray world full of violence, gangs, and drugs.

If you ever assumed that loud, fast-paced video games were going to make board games into relics of the past, found only in garage sales and grandma’s closet, today’s booming board game market has popped back to life in a big way. Today’s best cooperative board games, brand-new games, and classic board games from years past are back on kitchen tables around the world.
With more time at home during the pandemic, many of us realized we needed a break from binge-watching and video gaming and turned back to board games for the original gaming experiences we once enjoyed so much. While we still love our favorite video games, there’s nothing like the tactile satisfaction of playing with cards, boards, dice, and tokens. You can share those games with family and friends in a way that doesn’t work with video games. And what’s really...

Despite reports of Gen-z’s progressive politics, it appears hyper-awareness around sexuality, consent, and toxic masculinity have only made high school popularity contests more sophisticated. That is, if we’re to take the outlandish feminist satire running through Netflix’s dark teen comedy “Do Revenge” at face value, anyway. If two-faced men’s groups and psychedelic mushroom stings seem a little ridiculous, it’s all part of the sickly fun and games of “Do Revenge,”
Starring Camila Mendes (“Riverdale”) and Maya Hawke (“Stranger Things”) as two unlikely allies in a battle for teen justice, “Do Revenge” is a funny feminist take on the mainstream high school comedy. Touching lightly on class awareness and queer politics, the girls are firmly in control of this candy-coated world — though only one can come out on top. As their Machiavellian quest for revenge leads to some unlikely revelations, the self-righteous anti-heroines prove that boys...

Somehow landing on just the right side of exploitation sleaze, John Swab’s delightfully grungy horror drama Candy Land is very much a film of two halves. The first, a slice-of-life, almost mumblecore mosaic of truck-stop sex workers is exquisite in its own right, landing very much like a particularly well-written pulp novel, and leaning on a terrific ensemble of young actors (with William Baldwin as a tricky lawman). Right from the off, it’s frank with both its sexuality and its depictions of life on the outer rings of society, and would’ve made for something of a neat, if slightly artsier entry into the genre canon.
But then about twenty minutes in, naturally someone winds up dead, and Swab’s script finds a totally different purpose altogether, nestling a particularly bonkers (and brutal) slasher story in amongst the winning drama. The weird thing is it just about works...

In the opening scene of "The Least Dangerous Game" -- the second episode of the third season of "Star Trek: Lower Decks" -- the show's four main characters, in a rare moment of downtime, gather around a table to play a Klingon-based boardgame called "Bat'leths & bIHnuchs." The players are all dressed in Klingon clothing, and they drink from tapered ridged mugs that Klingons are typically seen using throughout "Star Trek." The game board is a hexagonal grid, and bears the red/blood orange/goldenrod color scheme of "The Settlers of Catan." The players roll a 20-sided die.
The central feature of "Bat'leths & bIHnuchs," however, is a small video screen arranged behind the board wherein a pre-recorded game master offers an introduction, dictates the actions of the players, and reacts angrily when they make a bad decision. The game master is none other than Martok (J.G. Hertzler), a recurring Klingon character...

The game that taught you how candlesticks could be used for murder is getting an animated series from Fox.
"Clue," the board game first sold in 1949, was turned into a live-action film back in 1985 and is getting the animation treatment from Hasbro's eOne and Fox Entertainment's Bento Box Entertainment. Don't get this series confused with the 20th Century Studios live-action remake that is set to star Ryan Reynolds, directed by James Bobin ("The Muppets").
If you cast your mind back to childhood, you may recall the board game with teeny tiny murder weapons, rooms where the murder took place, and suspects named Miss Scarlet, Professor Plum, Colonel Mustard, Mrs. Peacock, and Mr. Green (these names differ in some versions). The game, which has been sold in over 30 countries (where it's sometimes called "Cluedo"), has a murder for you to solve, and now it's happening in animated form.
